Those deputies need to be punished, seriously their main priority is the judge's safety over everything else, and once the family members warned them of the possibility of the suspect having a weapon, they should have been all over it. This incident could have been prevented if the deputies reacted better.

You DO NEED to study how fatal shootings occur. No law abiding citizen or cop shoots to kill, we all shoot to STOP the attack. The first priority been the health and safety of the victim and only second that of the attacker. If the he later dies of his injuries then thats bad but direct result of HIS own actions.

@jeshely Yes, I would agree to this. It isn't like the Officer had the opportunity to say, "Hey, is that by any chance a cutting instrument you have in your hand, Sir?" I believe the Officer acted accordingly. However, in other circumstances, there may be room to regotiate or to size up the situation appropriately and thereby empliment what's deemingly possible to avoid a 'shoot to kill' instead. What else was he to have done?

Officers are trained to PROTECT the community. Now some may neglect that power but regardless, officers are trained to use DEADLY force when necessary, not just to wound someone. There are no magic bullets. I'm not an expert but have been educated by some national experts including the highly regarded Massad Ayoob. Not a single one of you could incapacitate this man with a pistol or Taser while he's wildly shiving the Judge within six seconds. Bradley approached the bench, firing his gun twice and striking Paradiso once in the chest.
Although wounded, Paradiso continued his attack. Bradley then grabbed Fox by the head and pulled her back, out of the line of fire as he shot a final, fatal round.
The incident lasted six seconds.

@MrLyons0 I'm glad you exercise your second amendment rights. I do too. I have never talked about the right to kill, I talk about the right to defend myself and my family. In a situation where we are attacked and there is a risk of death or grave bodily harm, the safety of myself and my family will be my main concern and the health of the attacker will be second priority. In any case, the attacker should bear the consequences of his own actions not the victims or the people offering protection.

In these situations the safety of the innocent takes priority over the health of the perpetrator. Hopefully next time a sicho like this get on the lose you will face him alone and when it pulls a 45 on you, you will inderstand in a plit second what you did not here.
