Very scary when all the black ppl want to kill her (Solitaire - the high priestess witch) at 2.11- it reminds me a bit of the scene with Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean!
The whole animatronic doll sequence still doesn't make any sense. Why would they do that and where the hell would they get on in Haiti and identical copy of samedi?
if only this movie had sean connery in it,i never like roger moor, but he did have some of the best bond movies even thou he was one of the worst bonds ever.
Christ, Bond and Vodou go so well together. I was so dissapointed that there wasn't anything of this sort when Bond went to Haiti in Quantum of Solace. I mean come on! It's Haiti for fuck's sake!
im sorry but roger moore is the best james bond to date, he doesnt get the praise that he deserves, he was the first choice bond over connery but couldnt do it due to shooting the saint, in my eyes he is the one and only true james bond
i love this movie. but id wager anyone who actually practices voodoo would be offended at the portrayal of Baron Samedi and this ritual. but it makes a dramatic scene thats for sure
yeah... im pretty sure baron samedi has better things to do with his time than play lackey for a heroin dealer or do tourist shows at some hotel. i mean come the f**k on
I love how James Bond blows his head open with his gun, looks genuinely confused for a second, then stoops, and then empties two more shots into his body to blow him apart.
I really like Roger Moore as Bond. His Bond movies are full of all sorts of gimmicks and comedies, good plots and different themes.
I think that may have been his flaw. Moore is a great Bond, and he's played him longer than anyone else. But, the Bond movies were better when they were serious. I like Daniel Craig's portrayal, Connery and Brosnan were okay. But, I think Timothy Dalton was perfect. Unfortuately, not alot of people cared for him(for some retarded reason. He's a fucking Shakespearean actor.) but he was really good. The Living Daylights and License To Kill are probably the best.
Agreed. I like all the Bonds for different reasons, but Dalton was vastly underrated, and he was my favorite as well. I also wished he had done Goldeneye. It's great, but with Dalton as Bond in that one, it would have been even better!
I know right? Well, they could've but they spent so much time trying to get Brosnan in Goldeneye. Of course they did, and he was suprisingly good. Personally, I always thought that they should've got Dalton for A View To A Kill. Because as great as Moore was, it was just rediculous. They should've ended Moore's run with Octopussy at least. If they had gotten Dalton for A View To A Kill, then the movie would've been alot better and more believable.
Well, about Dalton, there had been all kinds of legal fidgy-widginess getting in the way, and Bond was on hiatus for 6 years after Licence to Kill and Dalton thought he would be too old(incidentally, he was almost in Live and Let Die, but he thought he was too young then), and they had tried to get Brosnan all throughout the 80s, but he was tied to Remington Steele.
And Moore was showing his age by the 80s, but he and Maud Adams(Octopussy) had good chemistry together.
And Dalton in a View To A Kill would have been a good move, though the film, in my opinion suffers from several other flaws, but needless to say, a confrontation between Walken and Dalton would have been worth it alone.
its one thing if you like the comedy. that's fine, people have their own favorites. I just personally feel that as great as Moore was as Bond, it wasn't the right feel of the character. Bond is suppose to be brooding, violent, and serious (as well as charming, suave and funny) but not a straight up comedian. when it comes to the serious Bond, Dalton, Brosnon and Craig pulled it off very well.
This is perhaps my only favorite Bond film. The others are over-rated! I did have a GoldenEye game from N64 but I sold it! It was fun because I got to shoot the bad guys!
this movie is very innacurate to the book but the movie most like the book i would say is license to kill, in the book felix gets eaten by a shark and big man wasnt inflated
awesome video, what does Baron samedi say at 6:50 ? I always wanted to know.. but some kind of singing, but funny way to die for Baron, but he still lived in the end, Jane and Roger would have made a great couple in real life I swear.
and another thing the producers make them all tough and fiesty in the new ones yet james bond will always be the one to save them - shows that man dominates eh? not trying to be sexist??
notice how felix said to bond "look out for sharks on your way back" and bond replies w/ "we'll see u for breakfast felix" the next time we see felix is in "license to kill" and he gets tortured by a shark in that one
And Felix is none other that David Hedison, better known as Captain Lee Crane from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea." Bond's CIA contact Felix Leiter was played by a different actor in every Bond movie.
That Baron Samedi is a tricker! He's using him,as a decoy and then he appears again! It's like GoldenEye 64,when Baron shows up in the egypt level, and you have to use golden gun to shoot this son of the bitch, but you have keep going like 3 times to shoot him!
