  • Not in to gothic shoots, but great work nonetheless!

  • Oh my god. I really loved the images. very much my taste and what I want to do. . very inspiring! Her Artistic style made my heart sing!

  • I ATE THE DISCO

  • thats good , you should go check out mine , it was a beach theme .. :)

  • Haha her flash-transmitter thing is so huge that it probably triggers ALL the flashes of all the cameras (road radars included!) of the whole bay 30 miles perimeter! Hope this lady manage to get time off and do some artist-work of her ideas & not only serving mainstream scum for money. She reminds me of the (creative) mood & generation of Carolyn Carlson.

  • The female model is GORGEOUS!!! I love women with the Gothic - Victorian look!

  • The beat behind-the-scenes shoot I've seen. Melissa is hilarious (although not always intending to be). Fantastic editing too.

  • I love this. Especially when she says she doesn't take her job too seriously. Great speech. Surrounds herself with talented people. Nice "secret."

  • awesome job ...im your new fan ....i love it all

  • one of the best fashion photography i have come across, as she said it was not even about the fashion photography but the whole mood. loved it !!!!!

  • isnt hasselbland like one of the top cameras in the world? like are they better than Nikons and Canons? or even Pentax?

  • @kendy4 yes hasselblad is a top camera system and also what they call - medium format... not 35mm like the canons and nikons. Very expensive camera.

  • I dont know which Hasselblad model she use but its cost over $25000 for cam and lens.

  • Exelent, images, video, casting, make-up...but the music!

  • that looks like a very expensive camera, can i have it

  • Is She or He?

  • i lov it .. congratulations

  • I have watched so many videos on youtube but this one beats them all! I think I love Melissa Rodwell!

  • I stinkin LOVE this. So Inspiring. Amazing.

  • I am also an aspiring female photographer and it's a beautiful thing to see women branching out in this industry. I am completely INSPIRED by your blog and website.

  • 10:21 thats hilarous!!!

  • Hi, does anyone know what equipment she's using? thanks

great video btw, the best i've seen so far

  • As for the camera, she's using a Hasselblad. The one she's holding is their H-series cameras, not sure exactly which model, but probably a H3D-31 or H3D-39.

And she's using different speed flashes, for light. Not a very traditional thing to do for professionals at given conditions.

  • nice flix

  • lizards

  • I love the part were the two assistants are taking notes, one is using a notepad the other is using the smartphone. This tells us all something.

  • This is one of the best videos I have seen of this sort. Everything came together like nobody's business. The team looks fun too. Cool job, and I'm already waiting for the next one!

  • I love at 15:28 when Mrs. Rodwell is laying her head on someone's leg. Cute.

Awesome shoot. Very cool looking. Holding an octopus was kind of weird. "We're on the beach looking sexy...look honey, I found an octopus."

    David, your wife is awesome.

    Excellent cinematography and editing.

  • What an amazing vid, loving the gothic vibes and what drama! The pics just radiate sex and the tensions of the day don't seem to come through at all, a mark of a truly great tog. Well done, and I hope you got your burger!

  • Don't mean to be a stickler, but it should be BWV (not BVW) in the credits for Bach's Werke-Verzeichnis.

  • Those shoots are taking my breath, beautiful (: I would so love to know what Flash Equipment you have!

  • Thanks for sharing Melissa! Great to hear another photographer with a mouth as dirty as mine. lol. Keep up the amazing work.

    Carlos

  • WAY TOO SERIOUSLY.

Or not seriously enough, either flaking on you or fucking you over. Lots of extremists. Loved the video, though. Always a pleasure to watch professionals in action.

  • And omg Peter was just amazing to look at!

  • DAVID!!!!!<3

  • Oooh and 15:31 So romantic and hinting at tension. What a set this was!

  • God I love the still photo at 12:12. What a fascinating view into a shoot.. a lot of work, wow. But when it works, it's magical, and this is. Melissa is so talented and focused.. I love her entire style and approach. And so nice to see you there, too, David! Thanks for putting this up. xo to you both! Julie.

  • LOL! Jules ! This vid is totally for Melissa's blog, but I find it to be so sweet you actually took the time to view it and comment + You truly are my biggest fan ever. :) and I of course am Melissa's so the feeling is mutual. Hope all is well +++

    Lots, David
