  • Now thats a TJ!

    Nice job.

  • Just a little bit over 30mph.

  • all of yall haters need to shut up. he can do whatever he wants!! that jeep is bad ass. no doubts about it.

  • This dude is crazy. Look at the zr1. 630 hp. They use bbc in monster trucks. If you wanna look at specs and such, push rod engines are better. They can be built just like any ford engine can. And lighter than any dohc v8.

  • @gotenks137690 ..absolutely wrong...

  • @raginroadrunner how do you figure? im all for dohc engines. they are just as capable. but an aluminum pushrod engine is obviously smaller and lighter than an aluminum dohc. its not that chevy hasnt upgraded, they started with the pushrod and its still perfect for their needs.

  • @gotenks137690 ...and their needs are out dated by at least 20 years and counting..

  • @raginroadrunner how? if your saying that the pushrod engine is outdated, then the gasoline engine is far outdated. being its over 100 years old.

  • @gotenks137690 For all practical reasons...yes...European engines are going to be all diesel in the near future..look what Auto Union (Audi) has done with them in racing..the US lags behind in this technology for various reasons...your own GM sold Detroit Diesel to Roger Penske, who in turn sold it Daimler-Benz ( Freightliner)..and they surged ahead again...gasoline is obsolete, why do you think Henry Ford offered the Model T to burn gasoline or alcohol in 1909???

  • @raginroadrunner it just comes down to personal taste man. The push rod is just as outdated as the dohc. I prefer gas over diesal because of american classics. Its what you prefer.

  • so much for goin 30

  • That jeep is phkn retarded! Jeep on roids yea buddy!! #%!!boner status

  • if this is its first run why didnt you run the engine in??

  • @fuckingkidsthesedays The engine was pulled from a wrecked vette. It had already been broken in. I should have broken the everything else in, but I wanted to see what it would do. I was impatient

  • @curlee187 ..and what in the hell do you need a Corvette engine in a Jeep for???I see these guys all the time on the trails.. they are the first to break, the first to roll and most times the first to become a statistic...where is the common sense in all of this???..isn't this an off road Jeep?? or are you gonna tie into John Force with it???...which would be the stupidest thing I could imagine, this makes absolutely no sense...Logic???

  • is it manual

  • LS2???...what the hell is an "LS2"????.... dont' get so exotic with some hair brained term..its just another ..... Shivelay!!!...that .." cracks heads, eats valves and runs on luck every turn..face it...they are cheap for a reason...

  • @raginroadrunner You are such a vag! ls2 is a corvette motor, why are you watching a video like this? and that motor and rig is actually quite expensive, tard.

  • @MrChrismakesbeats ....Expensive???...for what???...a Corvette is nothing but a old bald guys wet dream on wheels....why do ya think GM went tits up???

  • @raginroadrunner You sir are and idiot. That is all

  • @curlee187 .I might be an idiot...but i sure as hell know a junk ass Chevrolet when I see one...they never won anything that they didn't buy off..like Nascar for instance...why do you think the Mopar Hemi was banned from Nascar along with the Ford 429 Boss?????yep I'm an idiot...but you sure as hell can't blow smoke up my ass!!!

  • @raginroadrunner facepalm

  • @Lukeatone..if ya can't say it like a man...STFU...

  • @raginroadrunner Nascar runs 355 CID small blocks.

  • @Lukeatone..They do now but they used to run the big motors until GM could not compete with Ford and Mopar...it's all in the history books....and Ford still produces more horsepower than any other.

  • @raginroadrunner maybe in NASCAR a while ago. GM sbc, bbc and LS engines have been very popular with the aftermarket for a reason. THEY LAST and are reliable enough to be pushed way past their factory HP/Torque rating with very few ill effects.

  • @Lukeatone..the biggest reason is that they are cheap, second and idiot can work on them and third they areplug and play..and now so is Fords.4.9 and 5.4..they are still an outdated push rod engine that goes back to 1954..yep 54...that is when their 265 was being built to come out in 55....they are ancient..when we ran small block Chivs in the oilfields they were shot in the ass by 40,000 miles... the Fords would run forever.

  • @raginroadrunner It's better than the DOHC that fords got. I don't know how many times that I had to replace timing chains, Not to mention the spark plugs that break off in the cylinder head. The sbc, bbc, LS are cheap because they were greatly mass produced because of the popularity. Just because of the age doesn't mean it's bad engine. Ford has to keep renewing their engine line up because of flaws they can't fix.

  • @Lukeatone...and the Ford GT will kick they crap out Ferrari, Porsche, you name ..it doesn't have a change against the GT. FACT!!! ...GM has never built a good road course engine....just the same old crap they have built for 60 years that got them in the trouble they're in now.

  • @raginroadrunner how about the supercharged 427? That engine make great low end torque. The ford GT is a good super car. I will not argue with that. If you don't like GM then that's fine. It does not change the fact that Gm produce some of the Strongest engines to date.

  • @Lukeatone ..GM never did produce anything that ran well..they all had to add after market parts to get them to run.GM small block engines were some of the worst polluting ever made. Inefficient and far from durable they coined the phrase.."use it one time and..."Throw it away"!!!..the salvage yards are full of them...GM never produced engines like the Ford GAA, or the LeMans 427's used in the 'J" cars or Mark4' or GT40 that revved over 7000rpm for over 24 hours..GM never won LeMans or Sebring.

  • @raginroadrunner ..OK...GM products are all a piece of shit...that good enough for ya hambone???

  • BEAST!!! Guessing 36" Iroks? Barks them hitting 3rd...

  • @raginroadrunner gotta love people who talk shit about an engine they obviously havent owned just read a few blogs on the net where people talked shit

  • @raginroadrunner Alright, then what would you consider to be a quality engine swap for this car?

  • @bordenwesley ..If you are a real Jeep man..find an AMC 401...use it rather than some low life Chibbie crap...a Jeep like this with a 401...priceless...think out of the box...don't follow the crowd...lead the way.. all Jeep..all the way..now your talkin Dude..any idiot can slide a Chibbie in this chassis..torque is off the scale with the 401 AMC.... or a late model Cherokee V8 is even better..keep it gender specific...it will hold better value longer...RR

  • @raginroadrunner I guess...

  • @bordenwesley ...No guessing to it..."Ethics are Ethics....Thanks and good luck...RR

  • @raginroadrunner Don't you have some mopar videos to masturbate to?

  • @raginroadrunner sounds like somebody is mad cause they cant afford that swap

  • @TylerNoelify im in that boat also... i hate it because i cant have it! haha

  • Keep the inline 6

  • What Transmission are you using?

  • I love how people brag about chirping gears like it's some sort of gauge of power. It just means you either suck at shifting or are power shifting. I've seen miatas and even ford rangers "chirp third".

  • youtube.com/watch?v=S16kM3C0zkw

  • I used to have an AMC Jeep CJ7 with a Chevy 327 V8. I could chirp the 33'' mudders in all four gears. The trans. bell housing kept cracking though.

  • how much of a lift on that jeep

  • Bad to the bone! Yeah, love the 30mph sign... Would like to see more of this jeep performing

  • hahaha the speed limit sign is such a fail 30mph and the jeep went like 60

  • dude what exhaust is that i love how it sounds when you shift

  • Thats a beauty but why would you hot rod your jeep like that? you should only do that in the mud there goes your set of tires...but sick jeep

  • someone didnt get the memo it was a 30mph spped limit (;

  • wow dude nice jeep.

  • Woooooh! those were the fastest 30mph I have ever seen...lol

  • hey awesome jeep man.. how did you do your exhaust? and what kind is it?

  • is the ride loud at all? just like normal highway and street driving?

  • bitch looks b.a.

  • I've got a couple of questions. I am almost ready to start my LS1 into a TJ Swap. I "think" I have all my parts, but I noticed that I overlooked a couple things tonight. My LS1 power steering has a third line on the resevoir. Is the just supposed to be some kind of a vent? I have read that I can use a 2003 wrangle high pressure line for a direct fit, but the this third hose is throwing me for a curve ball. My next question.......What did you do about the engine oil cooler lines?

  • Ahh this is funny. I was just reading your build last night randomly. Now i find a video of your jeep... I saw "LS2" and clicked and there it was! haha nice TJ!

  • v8 in a jeep wrangler = go anywhere, do anything

  • Holy. Balls.

  • Kyoketsu Shoge

  • Jesus.

  • Bad ASS! Nice Jeep! I would love swap a V8 into mine.

  • So much for the posted 30 mph sign

  • @joseph7118 speed limits are ment to be broken

  • dude what's the 0-60 on that thing?

  • nice man! i havent looked but i hope to see some videos of it off road! u did a GOOD JOB!

  • sweet

  • how do i find a jeep with a v8 in it?

  • damn...chirpin in 3rd. thats what im talkin about

  • I wish I could afford a jeep, but I only did engineering at uni so I drive a Kia

  • This truck is bad ass. Nice swap and build, dudes!

  • man, dont ever try to put Gullwing doors on it or it will fly! lol Awesome Jeep dude, lovin it!

  • it should be my car

  • hey quick question...i might pick up this 85 jeep compound 1st lockers front, back 8" lift springs over axles lift, custom steering send joints all heavy duty, no rust, 350 crate motor, sm465 4speed, no rust, its super clean....i dont know much about jeeps so just curious if u know anything i should look for or anything i should know before I buy it...pls give me some advice...thatnks

  • Does the jeep run fine down the highway and around town? cause if i did this i would want it as an upgrade from an old 4.2 in an 89 Wrangler. Off roading yes, but getting from point A to B

  • @Jeepfan4x4 The jeep runs great around town. It actually get better gas mileage and the drive-ability is much better. The only issue I have is that I got a detroit locker in the rear, and it annoys me some times, and isnt the greatest one ice/wet roads or snow. Other than that its great. Make sure you do your research, and read everything you can before you start any kind of project like this. Go to the link in the description, and learn from my mistakes

  • @curlee187 I probably would have ox lockers. those are on mine now with 33's and it runs pretty swell. detroit is really for trailing and crawling. Good lockers though! But yeah I have been debating alot on going into the army or air force and making things interesting. Cause school isnt too exciting. And the cash flow in the army is so awesome its retarded, so ive heard

  • @curlee187 Nice work man! Im lookin at putting an LS2 in my 03 Wranlger. How well did the engine fit in there? Did you have to cut stuff away or did it pretty much bolt in? I read that you needed the lift to fit the tranny and whatnot which I get. Just wondering what modifications it took to fit the engine. Thanks man

  • @curlee187 it gets better mileage with the LS2? and the lager tires? haha wut

  • @Jeepfan4x4 lol, i drive a 1976 cj7 with a 12" lift and 36s with a 360 v8 and its alright goin down the road. but the gas milage does suck haha.

  • I think you may have surpassed the 30mph speed limit. But in all seriousness that thing must be fun offroad. And good god that sounds nice

  • no point to a jeep with 400 hp its desinged for off road use not speeding on the high way nothing beats the stright six

  • @CoDkiller1011 If you geared it like he did (w/ 1st being such a low gear ratio) it'd be pretty damn torquey offroad. I just wanna know why the 3" Body lift...

  • @austinkeate66 The body lift was necessary to fit the transmission, because I didnt want to hack the floor to pieces trying to fit it otherwise. When the shop fit the engine, they did it without accounting for how tall the tranny was. It was a big ordeal, and Ill never go back to that shop again. I only went there because I didnt have a place or the time, or tools to do the swap myself, as I was in the army, and just getting back from a deployment

  • @curlee187 Ahhh. That's acceptable, I personally don't like BLs, but if I was in that position I would have done the same, rather than hack the trans tunnel. It's pretty damn hard to find the time, place, and money to do motor swaps, so I can understand ya going to a shop. And thanks for serving! You should get that beast on Jeepforum!!!

  • @CoDkiller1011 Actually the stock inline six is heavy as hell. A very popular swap is to an aluminum v8 which weighs as much as the iron inline six.

Being personal friends with the Curries i trust what they do to their jeeps

  • still in ep?

  • Fucking 3rd Gear chirp. Loved that!!

  • @curlee187 agreed, sorry I blew that out of proportion, hope you can get the jeep the way you want it though. i do have respect for you wheeling it, i HATE when ppl lift them a lot and are just mall crawlers.

the v8 made me too jealous ;)

  • speed limit is 30 ;)

  • this would look great next to my ls2 trailblazer ss in the driveway!!!

  • How quick does that NV gearbox shift? I'm planing to put one behind a turbo LQ4 in a foxbody.

  • @bmays004 It shifts like a truck transmission...because it is. Its got a long throw and you have to make sure you have the clutch fully disengaged before you shift into the next gear or it will grind. Especially from 1st to second. But seeing as first is such a low gear, when Im driving or even racing it i take off in second for the most part. Its not a race transmission by any means, but its beefy as hell, and can take a beating. I got mine from mantrans.

  • @curlee187 They custom built it to my specks, and are a great company to work with. I beleive all together I paid like 3600 for it, with the cable shift linkage and dual sticks, and everything needed to bolt it up. I dont know if you plan on pulling one from a dodge or whatever, but if you hook it to a chevy motor you will have to change the input shaft. let me know if you have any more questions, and read my thread on jeep forum for most of the info. its in the description

  • Thats sounds sick .. Lots of power

Not trying to sound like a dick but my 1989 yj wich has a 1995 2.5L 4 cylinder 5 speed tranny running on 33 inch tires well Spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear .. Js

  • Very nice TJ...

  • @BionicleArm2 "6" Rubicon express long arm suspension and 3" body lift"

yes i read the description dumbass. thats too much lift for a capable ride, hopefully he took that god awful BL off.

    you fail sir

  • I might end up doin an lt1 or even an lt4

  • i think he was going a little past the speed limit xD

  • wanna sell???

  • @deanschool 50 grand cash and you can come pick it up today but I dont think you would touch it at that price...... or anyone for that matter

  • @curlee187 you could buy a brand new four door jeep with a bigger lift, tires, and motor for that much money

  • @elemental212 ......But it wouldnt have a V8, dana 60s, an atlas II, NV4500, or anything else mine has....Why would I bother. I had already looked at brand new jeeps, and I decided to build what I wanted instead.

  • @elemental212 4-door jeeps suck ass

  • One real badass jeep love it

  • aight...i wanna do that.

  • too much lift, must be a mall crawler

take that HIDEOUS body lift off too, disgusting

  • @stayXbrutal78 Mall crawler my ass. I didnt dump all my money into it to just play around at the mall. And it is by no means shiny and prettty. I beat the hell out of it off road. Go to the link and look at the pictures. Yes I do have a lot of lift and want to the body lift off, but right now that isnt an option. When you build something comparable come talk to me. For everyone else thanks for the support.

  • @curlee187 that much lift is garbage on the trails genius. im a LCG guy and see types like you flip over all the time

  • @stayXbrutal78 Thats great that you are an LCG guy. We all have different tastes. And I DO agree it is too much lift. I have already flopped it on its side due to over confidence, lack of a spotter, and too much lift. To sit here a berate me with you opinion of what a jeep should be is asinine. Once my father removes his car from the garage Im tearing the whole thing down and redoing it. Lets agree to disagree, and move on. We both have a passion jeeps, so lust just embrace that.

  • fuck the break in period lol

  • fuckin sick jeep man

  • NICE! LOOKS LIKE IT HAULS ASS!

  • Sounds like a great job on the swap motor sounds awesome.

  • what bumper is that. and was it real pricey .

  • @kowz4u Its a bumper made by Ares I think? I think its a rip off of some other bumber made by rough country maybe? Not really sure. And it was actually surprisingly cheap.

  • @kowz4u I forgot who made mine, but the SRC Front Grille Guard Bumper by Smittybilt is prettty much the same thing, as mine was a knock of of that popular design,.I got mine for cheaper, but that one can be had for about $250 I like it, gives a good place for lights, and to tie down a shovel and axe to the front, and my warn fits like a glove.

  • Nice Jeep, but I'll take the SRT8 Grand Cherokee

  • Damn. That was sweet. I have a 78 CJ-7 with the original 304 rebuilt runnin good but crap that was too cool. At 58 yrs .old I think I'll keep it the way it is. That shit would kill me! With a smile.

  • One of the best looking TJ's I've seen in a long time............great job!!!!

  • you have no idea what i would do to own that....

  • that semms like a pretty high gear sounds like it may need to go a little bit lower with the gear if its the t56 trans but it sounds and runs good congrats on the build

  • lol i bet that thing is "unsafely fast" if that is even a word, awesome work on that jeep, very nice

  • I was wondering was that extended? I want a stock wheelbase tj on 37's. I'm only going to be doing trails mud and snow. I have a 2 1/2 hour drive on the highway to the park I go to. So could I run skyjacker 6' with 2' body and 37's and be ok with the stock 4.0?

  • @offroad188 No, the wheel base is not extended. If you are going to go with 37" tires you really need to do a lot more work than a lift. Gears for the differentials will be needed badly. Also depending on what axle you have in the back, you would need to either beef it up, or just do a gear swap. The dana 35 that most jeeps come with will not hold up to 37" tires for long before something breaks.

  • @curlee187 take a look at jeep forum and read. You most likely have a dana 35 in the back, for a differential, like I said, and It will not hold up long to the abuse that 37" tires will cause. If you have a dana 44 in the back you might be able to get away with it. I highly suggest you do a gear swap to something like 4.88 or 5.13 depending if you have the manual transmission or the automatic. Otherwise you will HATE driving it, and it wont be any better off road, because you will have no power

  • @curlee187 go suck a dick bro. yes toy may be somewhat right in what your sayin if you fuckin read the description you would fucking know retard. ok and thirty sevens aint that big ok so stop acting like you fucking invented jeep because your a dumbass

  • @trac0808 Im highly confused.... Was that directed at me?

  • @curlee187 no sorry i like the jeep the comment was directed at the guy who said youre jeep is not built right and you gotta stretch it and get bigger axles when if he only read the description would see you have dana 60s sorry for the confusion

  • @trac0808 37's are frigin huge are you crazy maybe not when compaired to big foot

  • @MrJeepin420style ya 37 are a little bigger than what i have i just get mad at all the people putting down this jeep because if he has the money to put in the ls2 then he obviously built the rest of it right

  • @offroad188 as long as you regear to match the tires youll be fine

  • now thats a jeep!

  • damn! how much did it cost for the conversion? 20k?

  • Very sweet machine.

  • just wanted to say that jeep is bad ass and i like it even better because it's chevy powered!

  • snow runs would be sooo much fun

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • nice power

  • Is that a 5" body lift?! FAIL

  • @2JSC It is a 3 inch body lift and was necessary to fit the transmission without doing major modifications to the body. It is plainly described in the video description AND in the link accompanying it. YOU fail at reading and observations.

  • @curlee187

Any body lift over 2" is unnecessary in a Wrangler. FAIL for even having to install one.

  • @2JSC My apologies.... I didnt know I was speaking to the world authority on wranglers......((extreme sarcasm) pointed out because of your obvious lack of skill at observations) Hate it all you want........ I dont see your jeep on here. Your friends rig on the other hand is nice.

  • @curlee187 hahaha, BURN!!! lol

  • @curlee187 He's just pissed because either A: His jeep sucks ass B: he doesn't have a jeep and drives a prius.

  • @PIONEERaudioLOVER a pussy pink prius*

  • @curlee187 No shit! no one reads the descriptions before they run their mouth! I dont blame you about modifying the body, that shit takes too long and the urge to play is far to great to overcome! LOL you got one hell of a jeep I had to laugh when i saw the 30mph sign! keep it up.

  • @2JSC Sick ride man. Its what I imagine my jeep to be one day

  • freakin sweet!!!

  • i would guess the speed limit to be 30! :p

  • My life would be complete with this jeep.

  • I like the drag strip take off , right in front of the 30 mph sign.. damn kids.

  • nice setup I've been wanting to drop a v8 in my 98 wrangler

  • @welderman27 Check out my link in the description for the entire buildup. IF you look around jeep forum, you can find a bunch more as well. Give you some ideas, and what issues you might run into

  • So so, SICKKKK

  • damn!!

  • damn!

  • what transfer case do you have paired up to the NV4500?

  • @countrysnake08 Atlas II transfer case. The entire build is in the description

  • what did i run for to get the engine, tranny, and gears?

  • haha that would be scary.

  • Nice jeep man

  • Throw some square headlights on that sumbitch.

  • Damn a corvette engine in a jeep? hows it do off road?

  • He chirped them in third!

  • Awesome jeep... but i much rather have the jeep with its own motor :( and a fast ass car for a daily driver

  • what yr is that?

  • Its a 97 jeep, and the motor is from a 2005 corvette

  • what tranny? Ax-15 with adapter? i wanna do that swap just need more info on that precciate it
