  • I will watch this movie because of Edward Norton. Love that guy<3

  • the little girl looks like lana del rey lol

  • Can't wait to see it!

  • @ZuziaSkro Was just going to comment that, you read my mind! :)

  • AAAAAHHHHH MAAAAAAN!!!!!

    That's looks so fucking cool!

  • Mostly landscapes but a few nudes

  • @MarlowWhere "was I a bit rude to Agnes?"

  • My only concern is that Wes Anderson hasn't made a great movie since "Rushmore".

    Hopefully, the drought ends here.

  • @NYerintransit thats really subjective. I have grown very fond of The Life Aquatic and it is panned as his worst film...which is clearly a toss up between Bottle Rocket and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

  • @MarlowWhere but even that is just my opinion.

  • @MarlowWhere I never said his movies were bad. All I said was, its high time he once again did a film as great as Rushmore.

  • @NYerintransit Dear asshole, fuck you, fuck you very much, every movie Wes Anderson has ever made has been one hundred percent perfect.

  • @NYerintransit the royal tenenbaums was excellent so was a life aquatic and for what it was fantastic mr fox was amazing

  • In Love With the "Owl Girl".

  • Anyone notice the tiny Apple emblem in the bottom-right?

  • I love you Bill Murray!

  • press 4 to make awesome music start :D

  • This comes out 2 days before my birthday <3333

  • @ROBLOXingHabbo My Birthday is also May 27th, fuck yeah.

  • Lol, I waited years for Edward to come back and then...THIS!

  • "did you just fuck that Indian girl?"

  • @moguelschannel sweet lime?

  • wes anderson is basically the American jean-luc godard of this generation. i like his use of colorful and interesting looking fonts and texts, and the particular colour used throughout his films. definitely taken from godard. also, using francoise hardy as theme music makes the inspiration even more obvious. i wish more directors were this interesting.

  • @joeyc5446 "Francoise Hardy - Le Temps De L'Amour"

  • Wes Anderson is a role model.

  • Anyone know that song that's in french through the middle of the trailer? starts at 0:45

  • @joeyc5446 francoise hardy - le temps de l'amour

  • Wes Anderson is to twee eccentricity as Michael Bay is to unnecessary explosions.

  • magical, funny, childlike , whimsical and original....the way only Wes can !

  • So. Excited. Words cannot describe.

  • Anyone know what the choral song that plays at the very start of this trailer is?

  • @ASornson Hmm, I think it's Cuckoo by Benjamin Britten.

    Happy hunting!

  • I don't know why, but this looks so EPIC.

  • Finally. I've been waiting for another Wes Anderson masterpiece.

  • Ahhhh im so jealous of the girl playing suzy i auditioned for the part and even got 2 call backs but i guess i wasnt right for the part, boohoo but it still looks great

  • @iwishaworld never know when people are full of crap...but if so, at least you auditioned. That's still an opportunity.

  • @iwishaworld Thats cool! You got to meet Wes?

  • I LOVE WES!!! =DDDDDD

  • While I'm waiting for this to come out and blow my mind, I'll be out back, trying to find a tree to chop down.

  • This is actually kind of funny

  • what song was playing in french?

  • @MsLoonatik "Le Temps de l'Amour" by Francoise Hardy

  • oh dear, movies gets a lot crazier each days

  • Looks good.

  • the kid reminds me of a younger max from rushmore and im sure it will be great like all his other movies

  • @katiebization The kid's name in the film is D. Horse. Wes joked that he really had to "beat" him to get him in shape for the movie (he's hilarious sometimes)! Wes also said that he knows it will be great like all of rest of his movies and to expect a very similar greatness in this film compared to the greatness in his other films. Oh geez I get so quirky when I think of him!

  • What kind of music play here?

  • Wait, wait. The movie's rated PG-13?? That's Anderson's first, innit?

  • @LSnicket4

the Fantastic Mr. Fox had a PG rating

  • @95Godfather Oh right, I meant live-action :)

  • This looks like most indie garbage. Is there no originality left?

  • Indie movies copy Wes Anderson...

  • @rickydeeman Yeah, polishing the same turd over and over again. Eventually it will be smeared so thin that there won't be any turd left. :)

  • @calends are you fucking retarded? anderson has had the same style for years. all of the new indie movies and typical festival mumblecore ilk are probably copying HIM

  • @poematik You apparently feel that because someone has "had the same style for years" it makes it automatically good, or original? I really couldn't care less if other people copy him. It's a dead horse even if he was "the first" (and he wasn't by the way). I personally think he should have just labeled this "Wes Anderson Movie (x)." Indie garbage is garbage regardless of who directs it. He chooses a "style" ("Let's see how QUIRKY we can make EVERYONE") and is not growing at all in his "art".

  • @calends I literally have nothing better to do right now so I'll go ahead and address your comments. Yes, actually, in most mediums, having a certain style that does not change is called an "identity" (I know, big word for you, internet tough guy) and it is one of the characteristics of an artist/auteur. This style can transform in certain ways over time, but it does have concrete principles. Secondly, "indie garbage" is far more interesting to watch than typical studio genre garbage.

  • @calends obvious troll is obvious

  • @noremac1392 Was wondering when you'd own up to your Trollery, but there's no such thing as a "troll" on Youtube; everyone is a troll. Look at the comments you didn't deem "troll" worthy - notice something? Yep, all trolls. Just because you have a man-crush on Wes doesn't mean he's immune to criticism from us that don't.

  • @poematik Oh, and can you read? It's like you're so enamored by Wesley (as I'm sure you call him in your fantasies, you know...when you're lying in your bed at night) that you, like the little wesboi pitbull you are, automatically assumed I was saying certain things.

  • @calends (I dont like this character limit on comments thing). Quit being an ad hominem retard, its not helping your case at all. I admire Anderson because of his set style (see above) and his expertise in character study.

If you dont like what I like, thats fine. But dont be a dick about it, niggerlover

  • @poematik You might want to take a basic course in logic. You're pulling the "Ad Hominem" card on YouTube? Especially after you called me a "niggerlover" and pretend like I'm the "toughguy"? Hahaha. I really hope you aren't that stupid. Anyways. I don't care what the official word for "creating the same movie over and over again" is...all I need to know is that I've seen it before and the so called, "artist" needs to take a sabbatical to reinvent themselves.

  • @calends We get it - you don't think Wes Anderson's work is anything unique or special. Why don't you go argue with someone on the G I Joe trailer feed- they might better appreciate your astute analysis........

  • @Interpolantics23 Your condescension is cute, but you failed to notice that I wasn't the one that started the argument - it was you and the other Wesbabies that can't take an ounce of criticism when it's obvious that Wes needs to either redefine himself or quit and keep some of his reputation intact. By the way - I can probably guess a few things about you: you don't own a car, hate Republicans, get hammered with Pabst on the weekends, and think of yourself as "snarky" (but would never admit it)

  • @calends I dont think its obvious he needs to reinvent himself- his style is what makes his movies his great- your looking at comments on a Wes Anderson trailer - what sort of posts did you expect to see? Just because I like Wes Anderson and listen to Interpol doesnt mean I'm not conservative- quite the opposite.

  • Looks pretty good. Pretty damn good.

  • OOHHHH A MOVIE LIST!?!?!

    Life Aquatic

    Rushmore

    Tennenbalms

    Darjeeling

    Bottle Rocket

    Fantastic Mr Fox

    BAM!

    In that order...

  • LOVE the shawshack redemption reference!!!!!!

That's why Wes is the best!!!!!

I mean- did any of you notice his Godfather reference in Rushmore? Thats another reason these movies are so awesome!!!

ALSO: The casts he chooses are prefect, and tho i never thought about it, Ed Norton is perfect for a Wes Anderson movie.

Cheers From America, a suburb of Chicago.....

  • @DarthXasthur "Shawshank"

  • It annoys me how they put a scene in the trailer that obviously spoils the end of the movie, atleast I hope it doesn't.

  • This looks brilliant...

  • @JMcWin Looks like he already did. A long time ago.

  • 1:35

edward norton : I am Bruce Banner

  • this reminds me a bit of rushmore

  • @ZEZgamer That's what I thought

  • looks like a movie tailor-made for hipsters, but Bill Fucking Murray...so I guess I have to see it.

  • @KnathanofCydonia Are you not familiar with Wes Anderson?

He's got a really distinct, New Wave style of filmmaking and he collaborates with Bill Murray all the time.

Go watch The Royal Tenenbaums. You might dig him.

  • @bobhiggsisgrand life aquatic with steve zissou.bottle rocket, fantastic mr fox

  • @ranax79 Also good titles, but I think he could do without Life Aquatic. I love it and all, but objectively speaking, it's far from his best work.

  • @KnathanofCydonia yep that's what wes anderson's reputation has been for years, kinda a dead horse by now.

  • Winning.

  • Hipster shit slut

  • @jaffas11 Makes no sense, ass.

  • Seriously, I'd love to live in a Wes Anderson film. I can be as weird, bizarre and awesome as I want, and I'll be followed by 60s hits! Come and tell me that's not the life!

  • Holy crap! Actors!

  • This looks great!

  • Looks good :d

  • for those of you who know what camp yawgoog up this was filmed their

  • I fucking love Wes Anderson's films!!!

  • Looks fantastic!

  • OMG!!!

    Bruce Willis!

    Edward Norton!

    Bill Murray!

    France McDormand

    Tilda Swinton!

    Jason Schwartzman!

This movie is going to be ama...Wait! Where the hell is Owen Wilson!?! I'm sure he'll make a cameo. Hopefully, But yeah, this is going to be amazing.

  • that was awesome.

  • Anyone else still laughing at the Shawshank Redemption reference? XD

  • This looks so amazing

  • I do believe that this movie will be fantastic! If you are interested, you can also check this Moonrise Kingdom video /watch?v=sZGK9hyhVp0 Have fun people!

  • For all of those shocked at the fact that bill murray is in this, you should be more shocked at the fact that owen wilson is not

  • WES

  • This movie believes hipsters are born, not made. I bet if you asked these kids what their favorite restaurant was, they'd say "Oh, it's an obscure little joint, you've probably never heard of it..."

  • all the celebrities and art direction in the world can't produce an auteur. so he has good taste in music. i can't say his films are original. the sensibilities are contrived if you follow art and music. the cult of wes anderson caters to a growing group starved for acknowledgement. i'm over him.

  • @TheMistermistofeles How are his sensibilities contrived if you follow art and music? I think I follow art and music and there is absolutely nothing contrived that I can find in his work.

  • edward norton will curb stomp the kid at the end. thats my guess

  • What kind of bird are you?

  • YESSS! BILL MURRAY!

  • this looks like it will be fun, i'm a big wes anderson fan and bottle rocket is one of my favorite comedies, visuals look great and the casting looks excellent, cant wait

  • nice trailer :)

  • the girl is like a Miu Miu mindwank.

  • Take girl to see this and you'll def get some hand action.

  • So many hipster cliches I can't even breathe.

  • holy crap this movie looks awesome...

  • Wes Anderson movies have meaning for most people, if you love his movies and people around you dont like it they will never understand you and cant be your friends.

  • My most anticipated movie of the year <3

  • If you play the pause button everytime the main little girl was on screen YOU ARE A PERV!!!!

  • I admit Anderson's films are different in the bizzare kind of sense, then again its art imitating life so bring me more good sir!

  • I want to see this and i d k why

  • wes, youre a fuckin champ

  • Wes Anderson cinematography never changes.

  • @czstealth Or he is just true to his style that separates his from every other current director.

  • classicalarchives(dot)com/work/54260.html

u can listen the song here!

  • With regard to the music, according to IMDB:

"The choral song is "Cuckoo!" composed by Benjamin Britten,

the French song is "Le Temps de l'Amour" by Françoise Hardy,

and the classical song is "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" composed by Benjamin Britten."

  • @gosoxmattg

    Thanks :)

I had been trying to figure out where I had heard that French tune before, when I had last.fm up and the song came on. I'd heard it a while ago, but it's an English version if anyone is interested. Artist- April March Title-While We're Young.

  • 0:50 do you know this song?

  • love that dance move he does at 1:09 ^_^

  • For people wondering about the french song, I couldn't advise it more :

This is Françoise Hardy - "c'est le temps de l'amour", a nice singer and a beauty as hell too ! ;)

  • Wow, the girl that plays Suzy looks an awful lot like Anna Chlumsky in My Girl.

  • I need to go chop down a tree...

  • looking forward to watching this (:

  • Wes Anderson can do no wrong.

  • Moonise Kingdom & Detachment look like Hollywood is trying to make movies look independent. Guest they up to plan Z.

  • @east4th Do you even know who Wes Anderson is? He's been making movies like this since 1996.

  • @east4th Wes Anderson is a pretty well renowned director. He has been making films like this since the 90s.

  • i cant wait

  • Jiminy Cricket He Flew The Coop!

  • Suzy looks like a really young Amanda Peet

  • i like this trailer from 0:40 onwards.....

  • this movie looks great and i love the trailer

  • I'm also anticipating this release later in 2012.

  • O'Doyle Rules!

  • I got so excited!!! Original screen play and Edward Norton :D

  • Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray & Jason Schwartzman all working together under Wes Anderson? This could be his best yet...Uncontrollably excited. Seriously, someone control me!!!

  • looking forward to it

  • I love every movie with Jason Schwartzman. And Edward Norton. And Bill Murray. Gah, this movie looks so good!

  • I love his style!

  • It's so funny how Wes' films seem to divide people so much. Not criticizing others as there's plenty of things I "don't get", but I really don't understand how people don't get his films. And I even understand less why it seems to make those people so angry. Anyway, looking forward to this as always look forward to his work. Let's all chat about this on IMDB later.

  • @LeCutter

My best guess is that some people don't really connect with the pastiche-based, detail-heavy, 'in-joke'/subtle -type humor or the way he explores emotional themes. You ever notice how sometimes you appreciate his movies better the second time? Some people don't like to have to do that. I've thought a lot about this, because I want my parents to love Anderson's movies like I do...but they just don't take to them. To each their own, I suppose.

  • Cool story bro!

  • What are the names of the music inthis trailer?

  • @dklustick The french song is Francoise Hardy's - Le Temps de L'amour (1962).

  • shukran

  • I hope he uses some Neutral Milk Hotel in this movie, In an aeroplane over the sea would go perfectly in this!

  • Yes! Another Wes Anderson film !!!

  • story of my life.

  • This looks so good, like Burn After Reading good ;)

  • 65 people couldn't find a tree to chop down.

  • @Coolasfonzie one guy is REALLY FUCKING HILARIOUS

  • hehe, "edward" norton...

  • wes anderson films just put a smile on my face.

  • I honestly have watched this trailer so many times that I know every word

  • Jared Gilman (the main character sam) go to my school and is in my grade lol

  • @SpunkyPonies how old are you?

  • @TheManwithNoName103 Why would I tell someone over youtube that?

  • This looks exciting. Can't wait!

  • Jesus christ, this is the hipster-est Wes Anderson yet. Completely serious children, french music, thick rimmed glasses. All that's missing is a fixed gear bike and the Smiths and we have full blown hip.
