I want to read it, I still do not understand it fully, how this works. All I can get it other people's opinions about it, rather than getting the facts.

I am trying to find and read a copy of the bill that he is signing off on.... If you read that, perhaps that might tell what exactly is going on, other than that people will have to just wait and see what will happen. If it is H.R. 3962, it is written "legalese", so it is difficult to understand.

You know they say this bill will go against the American pioneer spirit, that it will destroy our individualism - that it will sap Americans self-reliance. Instead of listening to the professional politicians and unscrupulous, partisan Republicans, why don't you actually look to see what this bill actually does. It provides subsidies for people making up to $88,000 a year; it enlarges medicaid a little; insurance companies can no longer deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions, nor can they drop your coverage at first sign of sickness. Then, there is a slew of cuts in waste that will make up for the cost and lower healthcare costs generally.

As for those who call him socialist - this man is anything but. He has been governing from the center all along - this bill has nothing to do with socialism or liberal idealism. This bill isn't even close to the European system in any shape or form. You know the same hollow arguments were used in attempts to defeat Social Security in the 30's and Medicare in '65 - it's time we understood them for what they are - hollow arguments.

I cannot believe it...I pay U$ 550 for my 2 years old son and my wife's health insurance, I don't have one because I can't afford to pay U$ 850 for healthcare every month, besides that not happy with that the insurance company charges U$ 100 everytime I take my son to the doctor...Come on Guys, Are u guys crazy? You are not being asked to pay for anything unless you don't have health insurance yourself. You are already paying $1000 per household for people who don't have health insurance when that person visit the ER. Obama's plan is cost O. Is is paying for it with $100bn savings from Medicare fraud and waste. Plus supplemental payments that are made to hospitals and insurance companies. I repeat is is not your money that is going to pay for this bill

Can anyone please explain to me why when Obama is finally going to use Reconciliation to push through health reform over the bodies of the Republican corporate whores (and Democratic corporate whores), he STILL backs down from including a public option??

It is because of power. I think that he is always saying that the people needs a Healthcare but the majority of citizens of the U.S. does not want this Healthcare. He is not willing to include the public's option because he wants the govt. to own almost every aspect of our lives, which will give the federal govt. more power. You should read the book 1984 by George Orwell. It is a very good book. Sorry, I am not sure if I answered your question.

Majority of people already have healthcare. It is the 40million who don't that this bill is aimed at plus what Obama wants to stop you being denied coverage by the insurance companies. Stop scaring people: Obama does not want the gov to own everything: 1984 was fictiom. You have it wrong about the public option read your own comments. If he wanted the gov to own 'Part" of healthcare - then the public option would be on the bill - and it isn't.

His bill is giving Insurance Companies $336 billion in subsidies. He lies. This bill is not reform it is an expansion of our failed system. It does nothing to curb rising cost and will actually raise cost on all. It does not fix the system it does not create competition or deal with over consumption, it does not deal with hospital pricing, it does not deal with portable insurance you keep from job to job. It does not deal with the regulations that add to high cost.

Bush was the governor of Texas (which tends to be not very hard for a Republican with a Familiar name) and before that he was the owner of some baseball team.
