  • I wanna say something but words fail me..ty for posting this...just fantastic

  • @TheUnclePunky your welcome

  • hear the autotune?

  • Wow, Arties still got it!

  • the performance of the two really makes me cry ... superb! legendary! classic! never dies! thanks for posting this!

  • @RqlPTap8 greetings from Naples Florida USA you are welcome. glad you enjoyed it.

  • @RqlPTap8 Gay.

  • I agree with you people who say that S&G never would use auto-tune. We can however not deny the fact that HBO (may they burn!) put auto-tune on this take later. Compare this clip: watch?v=X_cXMFPbOl8 with this one. No, they are not out of tune, so why the hell HBO messed up these takes I don't know. I love S&G and hate auto-tune.

  • The music and voice is amazing, but the lyrics are daunting and timeless. Truly some of the greatest performers ever.

  • beautiful

  • Amazing how timeless these songs are.....time has passed us by ......

  • great....brings back memories from a long time ago

  • You have just seen GREATNESS

  • Beautifull.

  • these guys are legends the world over.....

  • @hhgygy

  • just wow....thats all i can say

  • I hope they resolve their personal differences and continue to make music.

  • They don't make music like this anymore. That deep message that it has, that pure awesomeness...

I was born in the wrong time.

  • lai lai lai lalalalala lalalalala......

  • Still crazy after all those years :)

  • Genious. Still.

  • Who's drumming behind them?

  • Having played in a rock band most of the 60's we were so lucky to have seen them preform at central park in New York back then. There music is timeless and always will be.My wife was a drummer in a rock band when we meet. i played keyboards and lead vocals. As of August 30 we will have been married 42 years. How great it is. REMEMBER ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER, AT 63 I STILL AM, MAY GOD BLESS ALL.

  • 1 guy got punches by the boxer, thumps up

  • there's a tear in my eye ;)

  • This is amazing! They are playing their hearts out!

  • Just freaking amazing... After all those years, still extremely strong.

  • "Darkness is my closest friend." Psalm 88

  • "People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never share And no one dared" Psalm 115:4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see. They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell. They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat. Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them.
  • The best of the best!!

  • Born in '58. Wish I had kept my old vinyl record I had of these 2 amazing artists!

  • I have loved them since I discovered their music more than 10 years ago. I was Born in 1984 and 15 at the time so I'm from the Britney Spear/NSYNC generation and loved their music. BUT S&G are the real deal. They bring music alive with their voices. There is no need for anything other than their voices and their beautiful lyrics. I'm hoping to get a chance to finally see them on their next tour. Their music touches my heart, soul and brings me to tears.

  • well goosebumps...

  • There is no way in hell he's using autotune. When you have a voice like his, you don't need that stuff. Granted, he is older now, but that voice is still golden.

  • I really don't think that that is autotune at 3:38. I think his voice just does that. He sort of half coughs for effect. he's sort of always done that I think, even more so in old age. It's my thinking that he would not be able to have the bending effect that goes on at 3:00. He sort of "bends" up to the higher note on the first syllable of "voices". If it were autotuned, wouldn't it have skipped up to it in increments as he passed the note intervals it corrects to?

  • @bejay20x

There are different forms of pitch correction. Autotune doesn't imply that they would sound like T-Pain. It can be done subtly.

  • kinda makes me melt into tears (born '89)

  • É, SEM DÚVIDA, A MELHOR DUPLA POP DE TODOS OS TEMPOS; A HUMILDADE DESSES ARTISTAS OS FAZEM AINDA MELHOR.

  • Love them, but Garfunkel is definitely using auto-tune!

  • @priceischrist lekker belangrijk

  • Thumbs up if you hear autotune, esp. @3:38

  • @kjdaugirdas How dare you even joke about the use of autotune. How. Dare. You.

  • @kjdaugirdas Thumbs up if you think this comment is without merit...Listen to any album or cd version of the song. That is his voice. It is just a shame all the no talent singers today have to use electronics to get the same sound.

  • geezers! (just kidding these guys are friggin awesome, brilliant musicians)

  • Great posting-I would love to have been @ this concert. Thanks. P.

  • @pierrebugblatter I was. It was the best 194 minutes of my life.

  • There's something both moving and repulsive about very old people getting back together to sing songs that were written a lifetime ago.....

  • If there were ever two more beautifully matched voices, I don't know who they are. I loved listening to them in the sixties, and love them even more today.

Thanks for providing this for us to listen and enjoy. They are great !!!

  • @Grampoo6 It has been my pleasure. it was truly a great show. unmatched so far.

  • @Grampoo6 I couldn't have said it better. Thank you.

  • They Still Got it!

  • can't seem to figure out how to post here. Simon and Garfunkel changed the road of my life. I love you guys. Love the Boxer

  • This is real music.

  • Best version ever!!!!! Thank you! They are like cheese - better and better the older they get :)

  • Best version ever!!!!! Thank you!

  • The very good song very good music...The best consert

  • Even 90 years old, those two guys are going to be NUMBER ONE !!! DA DA DA

  • Even 90 years old, those two guys are going to be NUMBER ONE !!!

  • FRIENDSHIP AT 1:11 isn't that sweet? when they both gave their familar smile to one another after ages and ages! EPIC!

  • Absolutely fantastic...The dynamic duo is still in demand...its just too much and too good..i just sit back and enjoy!

  • They're older but "Sounds of Silence" still the same.

  • Amazing, amazing talent -- both of them. Simon was such an awesome, creative man, and Garfunkel's voice just blended perfectly with Simon. Between them they were unstoppable by everyone, except themselves I guess. They look like they had fun on stage. Breaks my heart that they broke up.

  • It' simply amazing... just the thing that they sound so much better live than so many new bands.. and these guys started out a long before those artists where even born... and still today.. their voices echoes as clear as ever.

  • 吉他絃音沒調準,影響和聲鬆散不諧和。

  • Watch them in Acer Arena Sydney last year and they were just plain and simply amazing. You got to love their long lasting talent!

  • One person is hearing without listening.

  • Top class... IF (and it's a big 'IF') Arthur is using autotune, why the fuck shouldn't he? He has not-one to answer too. His contribution to music has been recognised and is assured in the history of popular song. These guys are knocking on 70 years old, and a soprano voice like his is going to wain over the years. Relish true talent... there's little of it about at the moment.

Check out Rumer's 'Long Long Day' for a truly talented woman covering the Great Paul Simon...

  • but why is art autotuned ..

  • It's refreshing to not have live music lip synced.

  • Like fine wine these two...the longer time goes on, the better they get.

  • My name is Mike from LA Although there busizz4me.info

  • Is it just me or is art using autotune? Cool stuff nonetheless.

  • @njtwkr No, what you are hearing is what is currently missing from the music industry, skill.

  • Beeyoootiful intro on the guitar Mr. SImon!!

  • im only 25 yrs old n my mom influenced me to listen to their songs.. i was so surprised that i like their music! i am so moved.. ohh.. running out of words. simply love'em..

  • This is wonderful - Thanks a lot

  • They sound like they did when they where young

  • OMG! I was still elementary when this song was released.

  • It's so neat hearing this song again, sung again by the original singers, in their mature years, with matured voices. The sound isn't as pure as their younger voices, but there are new complexities in the harmony that are just as pleasing to the ear. :) Beautiful.

  • Artie, that was amazing. One thing to do it when you're 25, but this! Also I like the subtile changes that keep it new and interesting after so many years. Magic.

  • im born 1982 and never shall their be such a band as simon and garfunkel again no one can come close

  • Garfunkel's voice is fantastic!!!

  • I dont lissen to them, but my its a good song. they´´re incredible.

  • The hair maybe gray, but their sound is still as fresh as it was years ago. Can't help but be misty eyed.

  • I am crying. I told myself I wouldn't, but I can't help it. As soon as Mr. Garfunkel began singing, I felt a sudden chill, and tears filled up in my eyes. And I am crying. How is this possible? Why does it not happen more often? Screw the new millennium; I wish I could have seen them at their apex 40 years ago, but it is so heartwarming to see them at this moment in their lives, adds an extra aura of wisdom, doesn't it? I wouldn't mind dying after this song is over.

  • @potdrum Beautiful post, and I agree with you entirely! If you are able, do try and see them live; it is so amazing. I saw them on the "Old Freinds" tour in 2003 and even though the concert was held in this huge auditorium, S&G made it feel like an intimate setting, with their voices blending in that magical way.

  • I am crying. I told myself I wouldn't, but I can't help it. As soon as Mr. Garfunkel began singing, I felt a sudden chill, and tears filled up in my eyes. And I am crying. How is this possible? I wouldn't mind dying after this song is over.

  • They are so incredibly talented. I love every single song they have ever written, and these are so beautifully performed...I really hope they do go on tour eventually...they are such an amazing, magical duo.

  • How's that for 68 years old? And look at Whitney Houston...where's her voice now?

  • gave me goosebumps listening to them again!!!! used to listen to their music all night when i was a kid... my all time favorite artists, these two.

  • Their Voices are Still so Beautiful and Magical to Hear !!! :)

I Grew up With Their Songs and They Will ALWAYS Be My on My TOP 3 :-)

  • MASTERS of the harmonic melody.

    PERFECT!!!!

  • M A R A V L L O S O O O O O O O O O O O O

  • omg did you see them when they were young fuck this life i wish some people could live forever

  • How can somebody auto-tune S & G?? Sacrilege! I'd rather listen to their natural voices anyday. Look for Deb308's vids for the un-auto-ed version.

  • What can one say about this? I produce/remix/DJ and still am sitting here watching this with tears in my eyes. Music like this doesn't come along often throughout out lives!

  • you boys still got it and man o man it's good

  • Arts voice is amazing.

dont know how someone can produce those tones.

  • @Micaleth2 I agree! His voice is perfect....still.

  • Most beautiful harmonies ever.

No two voices blend so perfectly.

  • @Micaleth2 That's the beauty of TC Helicon! They sounded better 30 years ago without modern technology correcting the intonation to the point it sounds unnatural :( timeless songwriting though, the best in the business...

  • I'm only 19 tears old. I first heard of S&G when I watched "The Graduate" in my Cinema class at my college. I instantly fell in love with their music.

  • If anyone thinks they used some auto tune, it"s easy to check out. On this very page there are live versions of these songs from the 60"s....

Pretty sure there was no auto tune back then.

  • @hopper433 Listening to those live versions you mention proves the very fact that pitch correction has been used, at least on the reproduced audio of this video even if it wasn't for the actual live performance. A great shame it is too, as these seasoned musicians do not need the wonders of modern technology to make them sound good, in fact a more 'natural' intonation sounds better with this type of timeless songwriting. Alas, autotune has become almost part and parcel of modern production :(

  • Paul Simon is one of the greatest songwriters. I love all of his songs, but The Boxer is really something special.

  • When the crowd began to clap in "time" I thought to myself, "NO, NO! Don't clap! That's not the point!"

  • OMG.....this is sooo much a part of my life....and it goes on.....

  • Oh god,ENOUGH with the Autotune comments...or Autotune accusations would be more apt. They are NOT using the damn thing-they don't need it-and they never have!! If you're hearing something(I'm not),then maybe it's some digital audio artifact from the broadcast itself. I'm tired of this Autotune buzzword bullshit.

  • That is perfection.

  • S&G never sounded better!

  • @destry232 tru dat

  • ich habe feuchte Augen - absolute Ausnahmekünstler.

  • @msmucde I tried Bings translator on this as I only speak english. This is how it translated. "I have moist Augen - absolute recording artist".

Pardon me but what is a " moist Augen"

  • @urdedmete "Augen" is eye, I know that much of German. But basically, it translates to I have tears in my eyes.

  • @TheThrillington I kinda thought it was eye. Im surprised Bing couldn't translate. Guess they want me to purchase the upgrade. lol Thanks for reply.

  • INCREDIBLE. Time stood still, they sounded like they did 40 years ago.

  • i'd never question these both legends, but on some parts it sounds like they were supported by an auto tune.

    nevertheless, awesome performance.

  • @dieGoten I agree, this performance has blatently been 'graced' by autotune technology, albeit subtle for the most part. In some places, though, it is very much apparent.

  • the first album I bought with my own money was S&G greatest hits. Best album I ever bought

  • @jadegreenkaty Made me think back to my first album. Believe it or not I think it was

"Hawaii Five-O" title song. Ta da da da daaa daaa ta da da da daaa..........

    ......Book em Dano.......

  • Paul Frederic & Arthur Ira Garfunkel still has a good voice although they are 68 years old! Great & SUPER video -brings memory back! Thank you for this video.

  • @SCheyanne Glad you enjoyed. There is more on my channel urdedmete of Paul and Art and much more from the 25th Aniv. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert from Madison Square Garden. Hope you have as much fun listening as I did recording and posting..... Ray

  • I "discovered" these guys when I had to do my 6th grade American Music Project. I drew out the '60's from the "magical pink bucket". Anyways, Mom was like: "Oh! I know TONS of artists from then! Let me get my CD's!" So, she did. THANK YOU MOM!!!!! :) Now I'm totaly mesmerized by these guys. I just hope that future generations will watch these videos in the years to come, and also be love them.

  • damn I got goose bumps !!!!!

  • You know, Paul is so good by himself, it's easy to forget how much better he is when he sings with Art. They just have so much synergy. Thanks for sharing this.

  • IN 9TH GRADE ENGLISH LIT. MY TEACHER BROUGHT THIS ALBUM IN AND PLAYED IT FOR THE CLASS AND WE WERE ALL MESMERIZED....EPIC.

  • wow,just as good

  • Damn near brought a tear to my eye.

    So cool! Thanks!

  • @hopper433 Welcome

  • Awesome. My mother got me hooked on them a few years ago. Now whenever I go in the car I listen to them. They're really good singers, and it's sad not many people listen to them.

  • Thank you for being unselfish and sharing your wealth in great music..........

  • PRACHTIG !!!! Dit zijn pas stemmen, dit is pas muziek !!!

    THNX guys

  • i am getting the biggest chills of my life watching this n can't help my tears from coming out...reminds when i was little and listening to them evryday.thnks

  • Shivers...

  • The performance is only over shadowed by the lyrics

which is over shadowed by the melody.......which is only over shadowed by the fact that these guys are so mind boggling!

    IMHO:

One of the great songs of the pop/folk field (whatever)..a song is a song and this is a SONG!

  • really great. love these two... their music..

  • loved these guys!

  • CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM IN JULY!

  • it reaches out and grabs me back to a more innocent and wonderful time.thanks guys.

  • The applause when they started singing was cool. Thunderous, but at the same time respectful.

  • poxa como eles estão velhos... mas continuam amigos com a msm sintonia, com as canções imortais.

  • I've been so fortunate to see these amazing musicians perform twice live. It's so wonderful to hear that their sound is just as it always has been. When they sing the years melt away and they're twenty years old again:) God bless Simon and Garfunkel...long may you last:)

  • This is why I weep for the death of rock music today.......No one writes music like this anymore and certainly no one can sing like this today! Kids today have no idea what they are missing!

  • @hpdrifter85

100% truth, there isn't a day that passes that I am so thankful for this wonderful music!

  • @hpdrifter85 i agree that the vast majority of kids listen to terrible music, but im 17 and i love these guys

  • @hpdrifter85 Some of us do, and we do appreciate...

  • @hpdrifter85 i can bet you have no idea what you're missing. people continue to push the boundaries of rock, most obviously bad, but there's an incredible amount of amazing songwriters like this out there. It's a matter of being openminded and getting off your ass and looking for it.

  • @cstahley12 i'd debate how much talent there is - when everything is so easily electronically enhanced the modern singer rarely reaches their full potential. How many times have we seen them caught dubbing?

  • @nugg69 very true but there really is an entire world of amazingly sincere artists. They just don't get any recognition. I guess you could say the only real talent these days lives underground.

  • thank you for posting, they still have it ,they are great performers, may god bless them.

  • Pure genious

  • Just listen to the voice and you won't even know how old they are..

  • They're so old now...

    :(

  • @degree7

Old friends.............................. one of their songs. Now is has come true. Wow - think of the alternative (dying young) and be happy :-)

    (not sure about the spelling)

  • Shut up about auto tuning and just enjoy it for what it's worth, we'll never have artist "true" artist like these again, with technology today you don't even need talent just a wallet to get published. Today the "singers" run a scale to find a note on purpose no less, then you get two guys like this after 40 years they still blow me away.

  • In how many years did he just not change his freaky ass haircut? Anyway these guys are musical gods.

  • wonderful!!!=d>

  • Don`t get better than this!

    S&G makes life worth living.

  • Fantastic post. Just how music should be - Brilliantly written and beautifully performed by hugely talented artists. Great memories are brought back by great songs. Many thanks for uploading.

  • @skirtles1 Glad you enjoyed...

  • Listen, I love these guys as much as anyone else, but it's impossible to ignore the blatant use of autotune in this performance. I don't care what anyone else says, just use your ears people. Pay attention when he sings "of a street lamp" and "i turn my collar to the cold and damp" around 2:05 and compare it to their 2003 performance of this on youtube. If you can't tell the difference you're deaf. Side note: I still love these guys, I just wanted to clear this up.

  • @TheMiddleEightJFWB For what it's worth I agree with you! It sounds robotic in places - a great shame it is too. Awesome as these timeless musicians are, it's blatant that p
