And if you have "the world's biggest sub", another idea I like, is to wrap the harness in split foam pipe insulation and zip ties(behind dash space permitting) to try to eliminate any additional rattle.

Always entertaining. I prefer the solder and shrink tube myself, but you are correct that it will take more time.

Yea, soldering them will guaranty you never have a bad splice even with the world's biggest sub.
