  • How convenient...Gilligan brought his waiter's outfit and those tablecloths for the 3 hour tour. :)

  • The skipper and Maryann were skinny dippin' while the others were playin restaurant!

  • LA studio session gunslinger Tommy Tedesco flying on the spanish guitar.

  • Boy those bass lines sure sound like the handy work of Ms. Carol Kaye..

  • i remember this song real well, this song ended the one year streak of the beatles song..Girl...in the philippines...i was delighted coz i hated the beatles but my sister love them....

  • I sold it sad to say because I needed the money for $150.00 in 2008 . I know I'm Stupid !

  • Gary Lewis Sold me a Guitar a rare 79 fender in Los Angeles !

  • @spazzcat03

hOW LUCKY ARE YOU!!! Get it appraised and perhaps put some insurance on it!!!!!

    Is it autographed?

  • SURE GONNA MISS THIS tUNE.kEEPS CUTTING OUT ME EVERY MINUTE. NEVER DID IT BEFORE????

  • I don't know if the group had that much talent, but the song is great, shows what a combination of writing and production can do.

  • Have any of you guys ever heard TIME STANDS STILL by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Just cracks me up, he sounds just like his father, in the Bellhop.

  • Alright Ginger Gilligan, where did that name come from besides GILLIGANS ISLAND??? Too Cute!!!

  • Great Group and most definitely under-rated. So many good songs!!!

  • I worked at a club in Petersburg, VA and Gary Lewis played there - I don't know what I expected but THEY WERE AMAZING - Several of the songs had "chill bumps" on my neck, arms and legs!! The guys were all so nice too -they hung around after the show and socialized....GREAT GUYS, great music!!

  • Gary has a very appealing voice but let's not say they were underrated when it was all studio musicians who recorded Gary's songs.

  • The Night Has A Thousand Eyes was a hit by Bobby Vee, and Gary Lewis covered it on his LP, songs on LPs were called Fillers.

  • I remember being so sad when I watched their last performance on Ed Sullivan. Gary had been drafted and was leaving for basic training, then Viet Nam. I hear they play in Branson, I'd love to see them some day.

  • I always liked this mix better than the other mix they did of this song. The other mix featured keyboards instead of the horns the way this mix does. Thanx for posting

  • @moparfan59 I think this mix was the single release ,the one played on the radio. The album version is a punchier completely different take. For me its a toss-up of which one I like better.I think both versions are great.

  • ha, ha, ha, ha-(dietpepsivanilla!)

    great song!

  • my favorite song of gary lewis.

  • yES NANCY ,WE ALWAYS HAVE PARTY IN THE HOUSE OF OUR CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR SANTOS, HIS HOUSE IS CLOSE TO ARANETA COLISEUM, THE DANCE CALLED BYE BYE ISNT IT NANCY

  • @Manila5164 Really, those were the days......!!!

  • Highschoolmemories

  • if i was about 80 - i might want to f mrs howell. she's somewhat hot -- if you are a really old guy - i would imagine.

  • I couldn't have waited more to get off that island -- back to ugly chicks and snow drifts.

  • Cool. Mr. Howell gets to bang Ginger. Professor got rooked.

  • On my LOST LOVES TOP 100 SONGS list.

  • the question is, "if the professor can build a radio out of coconuts, why can't he fix the boat for them to get off the island.

  • Good question. Some "professors" can figure out complicated problems and its solutions but not know how to change a tire.

  • Because with chicks like those two, he didn't want to leave.

  • Why build a radio? They had one.... He never built a radio...He only charged the batteries.

  • I liked how the professor made radios out of coconuts.

  • Mr Magoo cant see whats sitting in front of him - id be digging in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thesixtiesrocked - pls if yo can download the "sure gonna miss her" version from the HITS AGAIN ALBUM.....that would be great!!!....the faster version has more drum fills and a stronger rythmn guitar line...excellent song all around....BASS lines sound so Carl!

  • ya - i heard Tommy nailed it on about the second take....then again that was Tommy T...wasnt it?

  • One great thing about Gary Lewis is he had Leon Russell arranging alot their more complicated songs--yes that Leon Russell.

BTW,I have a different version of this same song by Gary Lewis but it has a much more prounounced drumming set in it and super wide Stereo. Maybe I can dig it out--its on vinyl and get it uploaded.

  • hi - yes Gary and the Playboys did the Bobby Vee cover - The Night Has a Thousand Eyes - on their first album "This Diamond Ring" - great song.

  • i won a singing contest singing gary lewis "the night has a thousand eyes"way way back..gl and the playboys music has that certain feeling of good times in a fun and wholesome way...ahh good old days..

  • But "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes" was by Bobby Vee!

  • i just learned it few minutes i posted my notes..thanks....bobby vee was not a big star in the phils.(i think )i was young never heard of him -although bobby vinton was also popular..did glewis and the playboys recorded this song?if not, it was bobby vee version that i heard then?

  • yes, bobby vee had his big hit TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY BABY, also on philippine air lanes in the early 60s.

  • @GingerGilligan Gary Lewis & the Playboys worked for the same label as Bobby Vee, so they did a cover version of "1000 Eyes". I sang the song once on kareoke and still have the tape.

  • LA session musician Tommy Tedesco on spanish guitar.

  • The 60's was my favorite decade for great music, and i was born 88!

  • I always had a crush on the Professor and now that I'm an adult, I still do. Ha Ha. Yeah, I posted on another Sure Gonna Miss Her posting that this song is pure perfection. Love everything about it.

  • Another wonderful song from a wonderful band for sure!

  • great ,great song! gary lewis is still out there

after all these years. they do a great version of "look through any window too."

  • No doubt about it, Gary Lewis and The Playboys are one of THE most under rated groups of the sixties! Absolutely love this song.

  • Gilligan's Island invented speed dating!

  • thank you so much. great memories
