  • Your weapons handling is atrocious...

  • @MrJimmypa Lighten up. It is obviously cleared and safe.

  • nice gun , nice vedio, FYI, you might want to re-train yourself on doing the press-check,clearing with your hand placement. that close to muzzle not good (some day) boom hole in the hand. mull it over k

  • @gpuckit That would be an issue if I was shooting or in the field and not working with a cleared weapon for a video. When you carry your gun in the case are you muzzle aware? Why not? t could be loaded and go off according to your viewpoint. Flagging people at the gun store is as dangerous as a cleared weapon in a video the way you look at it.

  • get this for my first gun on tuesday if gandermountin dont sell them all of something

  • If a gun without a safety is unsafe , that rules out all revolvers!

  • If a gun without a safety is unsafe , that rules out all revolvers!

  • LOL all these "no safety" nerds.. You really think the FBI will use a gun thats not safe? You can decock the weapon that makes the trigegr pull 9 pounds.

  • Well done - very professional. Thank you.

  • is sig sp 2022 a good gun,,,cuzz i gettin one soon.....

  • @hmongWestCost I think you will enjoy it.

  • Thanks for the action video. I thought I had it figured out (nope), but don't own one yet. I like the hammer/sa/da working of this SP2022, & love revolvers, so this is the autoloader to get.

I shot her in .40 & wouldn't mind having 2. One for each personality (j/k)

  • My sp 2022 came with night sights, but without a loaded chamber indicator or lanyard attatchment. I bought mine at a gun show. It's a new one. Do not use reloads in it, you'll get stovepipes. I hope I didn't buy a fake sig if there is even such a thing. The mag says sig pro.

  • Good review. The sound seems to be a little low, however.

  • Nice gun! but in my oppinion a gun without a safety is not a safe gun :P

  • @RoyZeed Fair enough. Train to keep your finger straight until ready to shoot. It seems strange for sure.

  • @csxconductor100 get a life cum rag

  • If the weapon has no safety, whats to stop an accidental misfire if it's in a holster or something? Looking at getting one but not having a safety is kind of a turn off. thanks.

  • @kineticenrage198 I like it for a home defense gun. If I take it out I don't want to forget to take the safety off since I'm not shooting on a regular basis these days.

  • Great short videa, thanks for sharing.

Good you include the safety procedure upon finishing it

  • Damn...kinda hard for me to choose between this or the Beretta m9 and px4 storm

  • @pray4chicken I had a Beretta and like this better.

  • WOW...this gun looks a lot like my H&K USP 45! not exactly the same but similar

  • @LOUNGEMEN The gun can't fire while it's out of battery, anyway.

  • tend to have medium to large hands...huh...what does that mean?

  • This Sig SP2022 is a great gun however you forgot one important part about the loaded gun indicator. When a round is actually chambered you will see an elevated triangle on the top of the slide just rear of the extractor bolt. This is not only a visual aid but also a hands on aid should you be in the dark. When its elevated then there is a bullet in the chamber. When it is not then there is not a bullet in the chamber. Either way all guns should be treated as if they are loaded. Stay safe all.

  • @tangledline Great point. Thanks for pointing this out to everyone.

  • @tangledline I just want to point out also that not all versions of the SP2022 have the loaded chamber indicator. Some older models have a peep hole instead of the protruding indicator, and on top of that models made in Germany often don't have any loaded chamber indicator at all. It depends on when and where your gun was made.

  • Does this gun use p226 magazines?

  • loungemen is a pussy. anyways nice piece. think i might get one myself next week. or an m&p

  • hick go back to the kkk

  • dude!!!does your clip say for law enforcement use only???not for civilian use??? i pickep up mi first 2022 a few months back and the original clip says that.

  • Thanks, good video.

  • i bought mine and i love it. i already had a 2022 in .40 caliber and i was sold on the pistol design. i recommend this gun to anyone who wants a sig and are on somewhat a budget. Great gun for the money!

  • Great review Do you know of any good but cheap websites to get sig mags and more?

  • @boyfat1997 I just bought a 2022(waiting on Hawaii's 14 day "cooling off" period) and I have found the magazines are expensive, but in the end, for a pistol, three should be good. I would rather have more magazines for a rifle. 9mm rounds aren't that difficult to use and load into a magazine. But ultimately, if their are cheaper magazines that work great in this weapon, I'd look at them most definently.

  • Looks like a good gun. Ive been eying this for a few days. Just hope its not a p250 repeat. That gun was the worst ive ever owned. Thanks for the review.

  • got this today brilliant gun though i hate having to buy a new cartredge every 250 shots

  • @dkod066 :

WTF are you talking about ?

  • @pcollenYT sorry i have the gas airsoft gun

  • Does that shoot bbs

  • @LOUNGEMEN Let the man do what he wants with his gun in his house if he gets hurt then HE GETS HURT not you so stop bitching and being a candy ass.

  • how much did i pay for the weapon??

  • @LOUNGEMEN Good point. That would hurt.

  • I've had the Sig for a while now and have never had a problem. Great weapon.

  • Just picked up a SP2022, excited to shoot it.

  • No.The mag release can be changed to fit left handers as well.

  • i am very close to purchasing this gun. do i need to be concerned that I''m left handed?

  • Hollow-point bullets? I envy you... Here it's restricted by law :(

  • Big thumbs down for dropping the slide on an empty chamber...

    Tisk tisk..

  • Thanks for the feedback. Still haven't fired this particular Sig but all the reviews convinced me to buy one. After the California 10 day waiting period I'll pick my gun up tomorrow. I look forward to seeing if everything everybody has said and written about this gun is true.

  • Nice review. Thanks. I'm on the fence between this gun and a Springfield Armory XD 9mm. I was going to shot one first at a local range but none of the ranges by me have the SP2022 available for rent. I've fired the Springfield and I liked it a lot; little recoil, smooth action, good fit in my hand. How's the recoil on the Sig? Turner's has the Sig on sale for $ 399 which I thought was a heck of a deal. Any experience with the Springfield vs the Sig? My first hand gun .

  • @dweebster33 Recoil is very managable. My 14 year old daughter can shoot it comfortably. Kicks less than, say, my Bersa Thunder 380 CC or CZ-82 (9x18mm). Way easier to manage than my pistols in .40 and .357 SIG.

  • @StopMoColorado Thanks. You're right, the recoil is very manageable. I finally got my SP2022 in and went to the range with my son-in-law. Put 100 rounds through it with no problems. The trigger is so smooth and the light recoil lets me get back on target quickly. So far I'm very pleased. Thanks for all the great input.

  • i really dig these. thought about buyin one instead of my glock but in the end the price of mags is what sent me in the other direction. really nice pistol tho

  • @armed2theteethH420 You can get MacGar mags for pretty cheap, I think, but the factory ones are steep (not as bad as my factory CZ's though - you can get MecGar for most of the CZ's, but not for the Tactical). I have the 2009 and the 2022 (along with several other handguns - SIGs, Walthers, CZ's, S&W, among others). I love these pistols, they're awesome!

  • hey man... any comment on the urban legend of this firearm ejecting rounds straight up and back or have you had them go to the side as standard?

  • @b10hz4rd I have not experienced this.

  • @ecitampa sorry bro i got it mixed up with a smith and wesson SD9mm vid. i bet that is a beast tho cause its a sig

  • @b10hz4rd I experienced it with a P250C 9MM . Straight back - hit me in the forehead several times. I have since had the extractor updated and have not had the problem

  • @b10hz4rd it was issue for first guns made in US... in Europe is everything ok... and newer gun in US are ok too

  • @b10hz4rd

I fired 60 plus rounds this morning checking out a new 2022.No problem with ejection.Shot some cheaper ammo and had one cycled bad. It was ammo from a local manufacturer.I won't buy anymore.Wolf brand actually shot better. This pistol will cycle about anything within reason.

  • @b10hz4rd - ive has this happen to me ONCE and with an xd-m. caught me off guard and a "wtf!?"....after researching this....its apparently due to limp wristing, which can also cause jams...in this case, id consider it a jam. i guess i was holding it too weak....

  • Comment removed

  • @b10hz4rd This happens to me every time. The first 3-5 shots go to the side, then every one after that goes straight back. I've had a cart. land and stick where my glasses touch the cheek. Had a fair few go down the front of my shirt. Mostly they hit me in the middle of my forehead or land on my bald spot. I would love to know why?

  • @Laarye as the owl says in the tootsie pop commercial... the world... may never know... i just got a sigma. the only sig sauer i would own would be the 220 (previously owned and LOVED ) or the 226 (was my service weapon in the navy). i tried to like the 2022 but man.. the feeling of it... what were they thinking. but to each their own. fair winds and straight shots to you my friend!! enjoy her!!!

  • I own a Sig SP2022 and a p229; both in 9mm. I've put a few thousand rounds through the P229, and 500 or so through the SP2022, without a single jam. I tell people this and some are very skeptical... but others (People who own A Sig themselves) accept it as no big deal... Of course I clean my guns thoroughly after every session.

One thing I'd like to make special note of is that I can pull the trigger as fast as I am able and these guns NEVER jam up.

I cannot say that about my Ruger P89.

  • one of the best guns to shoot, 800 rounds, not a single FTF/FTE .

  • I use top of the line ammo do to the fact its a top of the line pistol WINCHESTER

  • Anyone had this issue.

Sometimes when shooting or manually pushing the slide back and locking, when the slide is released the hammer does not get cocked back.

I have only put about 100 rounds through my 9mm, but every so often when shooting, i will notice the hammer did not get locked back forcing a longer trigger pull.

I can also have the same thing happen if i manually pull the slide back, lock the slide (for whatever reason) and when the slide is released, the hammer wont lock. seems random

  • @rosshane

Sounds like you may be having a DAO problem. First one i've heard with a Sig? Sometimes a pistol will forget which mode it should be in SA or DAO. May need to have factory tech look at it unless you have a good smith.

  • I like Sigs, haven't seen the 2022 yet but have heard allot of horror storiers saying this is Sigs worst design.

  • @isisncasey

Sounds like FUD to me. Check one out and test fire it before spreading knee-jerk reactionary statements like that.

  • @isisncasey They haven't shot one i'm betting. Some folks like an all metal pistol and that's o.k. I was skeptical about a poly frme until i shot one.

Much like those who don't like poly mags.I use half and half, preferring Tapco. My bad??

  • Affordable Sig and it is very under rated. I tired a range gun last week and it shoots well.

  • I picked up my Sig 2022 9mm two days ago. I haven't shot it yet, but I noticed something concerning. I inserted the magazine, chambered a round, then dropped the hammer w/ the decocking level. When I removed the mag to top it off, I noticed the next round in the clip had advanced forward a bit. This made it a bit rough to remove the mag. I unloaded the chamber and repeated the process to see if it would happen again. Sure enough, it did. Does yours do that? If not I'll contact Sig. Thank you!

  • @gnabeanmd I have not encountered this and I have about a thousand rounds through it now. Are you tapping you mag against the spin to seat the rounds in the mag? This is standard military practice but it should not be required. Might check with gun store to see if they believe there is a defect. Could it be your ammo?

  • @ecitampa Thank you for your time and response. Yes, I always tap the magazine before inserting it to be sure the rounds are seated. The ammo I am using is 115 grain Winchester Silvertips. Which ammo do you use or recommend? Thanks for the advice...I will contact the dealer.

  • @ecitampa that was going to be my answer too lol, always make sure that the rounds are seatedin the mag

  • @gnabeanmd I have shot several brands so I don't think it is a brand issue. I think a gunsmith at the dealer is your best bet. Let everyone know what you find out.

  • @gnabeanmd I've seen this on my Sig Pro too, but I've also seen it on various other auto pistols I own as well. I don't think it's a big deal. It's probably more a matter of the rounds rubbing against each other as each round slides forward. Maybe a more oiled magazine might help since that might transfer to rounds and reduce friction. As @gnabeanmd said, always tap your mag so that the rounds slide to the rearward position.

  • @shaynemcallister I called Sig Sauer about this. The representative told me this is expected with this pistol and is fine; as long as it doesn't interfere with the magazine dropping freely. I have also loaded several ammo types for feed-reliability testing. Although the rounds advance forward with all ammo tested, there have been ZERO malfunctions, so far. Thus, I'm not concerned about it.

  • @gnabeanmd It's not really an issue with the gun itself. My 1911 does it as well, you just have to be firm with the entire system when you're loading. Late, I know, Just figured I would put in my $.02.

  • @gnabeanmd i know what ur talking about and dont worry it will not have anything to do with the functioning of the gun, i have an m9 that does somthing similar.

  • @gnabeanmd mine does that too... but has never caused any problems. If you just pop the extra one in the chamber through the top then you dont have to deal with dropping the mag.

  • @AChimowicz Please dont do that.

  • @Blacklung27 why not

  • @AChimowicz It rarely happens, but I have seen rounds go off when handloaded into the chamber of several handguns. One was a Beretta 92, another was a Sig P226 and the other was an older colt 1911-A1. Are you riding the slide forward or are you letting your spring do the work? when topping off your mag there is alot of pressure on the round from the bottom causing it to rub a bit, and bite into the slide. Thats what pulls the round forward.

  • @Blacklung27 damn i didnt know that. Sometimes i load one through the top when im in my house (and letting the spring do the work) - i'll stop that. So it's safer to load one using the mag and then topping the mag off?

  • @AChimowicz Yes, because the weapon is functioning as it is supposed to when doing so. Also remember to always just release the slide and let it pull itself forward.

  • @gnabeanmd mine does that too but hasnt caused any problems

  • @gnabeanmd you might need to clean your magazine first.

  • I've had one of these in .40 S&W for almost a year now as my primary CCW. The decocking lever does take some getting used to but it works great. Best trigger of any gun I've ever had, period. And highly accurate out of the box.

Glad to hear that SIG is once again producing/importing these, IMO a superb autoloader. I do believe those who purchase one will not regret it.

  • I just orcered one of these in .40. I was curious about that decocker mechanism being safe as well. Thanks for the demo. Sig Sauer has the .40's back in stock and maybe the last chance to grab one of these.

  • I don't know the inner workings but I can say the hammer drops and it doesn't go off. I'm guessing a physical barrier goes between the hammer and the firing pin so there is no physical contact. It is a little unnerving but I have not had a round go this way yet.

  • Great weapon! Great vid!

  • i just got this i put im my 20 g bbs and it didnt shoot but i then put in 12g and it worked good

  • Outstanding review and explanation of the decocker function of the SIG Sauer. Thanks very much.

  • the french police gun

  • Some people say the finish on sigs is crap... Whats ur experience?

  • I don't use it daily as a service pistol. For a home defense weapon, i've not seen any issues. Time will tell.

  • Great video. This has got to be my favorite weapon. I haven't had any problems with mine. A few this I love about it is how accurate it was out of the box and how easy it is to disassemble for cleaning.

  • @SigGirl78 I agree it is accurate. I have not touched the sites and don't plan to. All my shooting will be within 5-15 yards; no aiming required. Cleaning is super easy compared to some of the other weapons I own like my Kahr.

  • how reliable is this gun have you had any problems with it? jams misfiires etc?

  • @eamonher - No issues at all. I have not put thousands of rounds through it yet but so far so good. I am potentially trusting Sig Sauer with the lives of family so I'm all in with this one.

  • @eamonher Not a single issue.

  • I like the video although I have trouble hearing the commentary on my Laptop (possible to increase the video volume). The person who made the video appears to have a military weapons training/instructor background, and his assessment seems to be of a professional level. Thanks for posting this video.

  • @MrLdgrey1963, I have no volume issues on my laptop. I'll try to turn up the volume on future videos. I hope you found the review helpful.

  • Yes, I did find the video very helpful. I look forward to more posting on different weapons. I like the way this weapon feels, I as well, shoot Left-handed, I can shoot this weapon right-handed also. I am able to fire this weapon single handed, although I fare better as far as accuracy is concerned by using the 2 handed method. I feel I will improve as I practice with the SIG. I plan to purchase other SIGS.

  • I purchased this weapon from a friend who probably shot 200 rounds through it. I have ran approximately 400 rounds through it and I am pleased with it. I was not a fan of Polymer weapons nor was I a fan of the De-cocker feature. Sig has done an excellent job with this weapon and I have found nothing negative about this pistol. I plan to install a laser grip and possibly a tac light. I plan to purchase other SIGS in 357sig, 40 and 45 Cal versions. I own a Glock 23 and I like the SIG better.

  • @MrLdgrey1963, This is my first weapon with a polymer body. I like it because it is easy to maintain. I found the weapon very accurate out of the box and I have no trouble shooting 1 or 2 handed, left handed and at 25 yards. For a home defense weapon, I think it is a solid choice.

  • Do you have any recommendations on lights/Lasers? I don't want to clutter-up my pistol but I would like to light it up.
