  • love your video :) and totally agree with what u say below,my babys prey drive is unbelievable, which is why i have a leash that is 50 ft :) works wonders :)

  • SO cute

  • that isz so adorablleeeee

  • stupid dogs. why do they have to be so cute

  • my jindo loves playin with puppies.

i am the third owner---and he listens to me,

  • is it true that jindo's only obey their owners?

  • They say that jindos have only 1 owner, 1 master, 1 person it dedicates its life to. But that isn't entirely true, as we can't really put limitations on dogs of a breed as a whole as they too are individuals; and individuals, as we know it, vary. This dog belongs to a household where it has two masters.

"Dedication", however, is different from "obey." My dog for example: it doesn't follow basic commands like sit, roll, down, UNLESS it sees that we are holding a treat.

  • "obedience"^

The reason he doesn't follow us is because he knows that what he'll gain from doing the commands will be minimal. This is not saying that this dog is stupid; he follows when he knows that what we're telling him to do is important. Like when the front door is accidentally left open, and he's discretely walking towards it, we should "STOP," and he obediently complies. This however is limited as since his prey drive is so strong, if he sees a living creature outside, he'll charge.

hey that's the same with my dog (i have a jjindo) hero (the boy) is aggresive towards everything. he's 6 months old and we haven't really trained him because it's my first time having a dog. he only listens to our commands like sit, down, stay if we have a treat in our hand. (we as in me and my brother) but i really don't think he understands "sit, down, stay".. he just does it because we say the same thing over and over to him and he see's our hand motions.

  • @xxbabigrl94

they'll learn to understand your words soon enough.

mine notices whenever the topic of bathing is mentioned in a casual conversation between two people. her ears go straight up at the mention. :D

  • @rsalud

haha, exactly like my jindo girl. :)

she understands me and my family perfectly well but quite often plays dumb when given commands she doesn't feel like obeying just right now. :D

classic dog-training guidelines give many tips on how to make dogs obey everytime but I feel it's like crushing her gentle but independend spirit.

  • Having said this, it's also important to know what is in the nature of each breed. You can't treat every dog as a cute, living doll. Some are fierce companions with pride and free will, like Akita, Siberians Huskies and Jindo, all of whom tend to be alpha breeds. No dog should be raised to look like they're always begging. Alpha dogs and dominant breeds can be very loyal and will be obedient for very special reasons, something which needs to be remembered.

  • Jindo is a special dog. While its true there are unintentional city/farm variations of the breed who behave more like pets, Jindo is a wild breed, like Akita. Fiercely loyal like wolves, they are careful to pick their pack, but can and will show affection for strangers, but typically have their own playful, independent sense of freewill. In short, they'll obey their owners, but they'll more often obey dominant, compassionate personalities.

  • love these jindo dogs, the puppies are really cute!

  • lifehouse! :D

  • I love the sound where their nails are just tapping onto the wooden floor!

  • i heard that in texas they have pure breeders with the breeder's certificate with jindo puppies up from $1500.

  • omg! do you know who?

I want a jindo so bad

  • he was so carefull to not hurt her but yet get her to play to...the power of instinct theres so much more to the animal kingdom wow its a wonder to see

  • I loved how the puppy seemed a bit afraid to fight back at first, then suddenly built up courage and fought back! She'll be a fine dog!

  • It's cute how the Daddy dog nudges his little girl to play, so lovingly tender.

  • Awesome! Jindos train their pups how to fight. My female Jindo had a litter of 8 pups and when we started giving them away, she knew what was up. She started training the pups how to fight, preparing them. Haha!

  • I used to have a white Jindo, too! Mann they are so cute when they're little :)

  • How cute!

I have a 14-year-old female Korean Jindo dog. The puppy looks exactly like my dog (when she was a puppy).
