Im also grounding a capacitor, and my question is does the ground bolts have to be really tight? because i drilled a whole for a screw and it screws down tight but it can move side to side? help
your not underpowering the sub??? it RMS at 600 i love alpine and it will take the full 1800 and more but its about clearity not power i would run a re xtx 3000.1 you said you was running it at 4 ohms that sony amp at 4 ohms is pushing anywere from 170 to 240 watts that re runs the full 600 RMS so it will gladly do more
Man...I hate to say it but a lot of what you saying about the electrical signals makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 0:28 ground out static? Bro, you have to have a RETURN for DC current flow to work. ANY poorly grounded component may cause "clicking" while driving. The +12 VDC coming from the BATTERY (not the engine) won't interfere with the REMOTE wire or the low level audio signal wires. 5:25 IF you 'ground the positive' something is going to blow (at least a fuse or two). Pliers man C'mon
This is how it is done in the ghetto. a professional would never hook it up like this. Your ground is your seat bolt????? seriously??? also the power wire is going across the engine.... thats insane!
@freeballingya The power wire is going across the intake, its not going to melt and it's not insane...its just how people in the ghetto get it done and working with out hiring a "professional".
hey i had a quick question.. so if i buy a nice sub, but cant afford a nice amp rite now.. wud it work fine with a really shitty amp until i can afford one that'll work the sub to its fullest?
just a tip man, its better to find a ground that is already there (one that is used by another electrical equipment, that way you know its a good ground
im impressed that you tightened all your bolts with either an adjustable wrench but by just pinchin them rather than using the leverage of the wrench, and also using pliers as well. I think you need a set of gear wrenches for christmas lol but mad props to you makin the video with one hand and workin on the install at the same time. I dont think i could do that with out a buddy to hold the camera for me. lol
@Miguelr2600 if you did, it wouldn't work...the plug is made for 120v (possible 240v or higher if its for another country besides the US). You can buy a power inverter, which resembles a small amp, and you will be able to plug anything 120v (within the wattage limits of the inverter).
@THERAMJOHNS honestly i think he's doing a good job with the tools he has. he's using pretty general tools that most people have. proper tools are just used to make the job easier, but getting more tools is pretty expensive...

Thank you man! I may only be 14 but I already have a car lined up, and speaker set(2000w) But I was wondering if it is necessary to screw it to you back of your seat? Because I am getting my moms current car(2004 dodge durango) and I dont really want to put holes in it. So could I just set it in there? So what I am trying to get at is, Does screwing the amp in give any bonuses? Please reply back! And thank you for your time!
@emosk8er97 It doesnt give it a bonus it just makes sure it secure so just make sure its in a secure non moving place and itll be fine! or just drill it to the back of your sub like mine! Easy shit need any help just ask me!
very good videos i wish i would have found these videos about a month ago i paid 250 dollars to get mine installed i didnt know it would be this easy im running this exact same amp and a 12 inch kicker
very help full im a female so i was kinda confused but this gave me a step to step and i will install my 2 12 inch kickers with a 2000 watt amp in my galant i will keep you posted on how that goes :) thank you for this vid
and the second thing is, do I have to connect the wires from the front box to the back? because i already have stock subs (which suck) and cant i connect from them? that will save me money and mad time. If you can answer that please do. :D thanks bro, very good guide watched it all. you the best.

@meloaleo Any part on the car that is metal, such as the chassis, is connected to the negative wire connecting to the battery, so basically when you put it to anything metal, it's connecting to the negative part of the battery.
hah you're screwing yourself with those cables, i have the same exact ones on my 760w pioneer amp, the cables only put out 680w so your amp can even peak, it's barely getting maintainable power

If you have the fuze installed into the power cable is it necessary to have the ground wire? Might be a dump question but isn't it the fuzes job to prevent the amp from blowing up by a surge? I don't know just a question because my kit didn't come with a ground wire
Thecorylaubscher 9 months ago
@Thecorylaubscher
Your kit should have come with a ground wire.
His explanation was wrong. Basically according to ohms law, you have to have a positive, and a negative for power to flow, the ground it just connected to the chassis, and the chassis is connected to the negative terminal. The fuse it so that if you get a surge, then it will blow the fuse opposed to blowing up the amp.

It's not AWG, American Wire Gauge, so the actual cable may be 8 gauge, but its more like a 10 AWG with extra coating to make it look bigger.
Less strands = Less power going to amp.

im still a little confused.im gabout to buy 2 W3 12" JL Audio subs. Do i need to buy 2 amplifiers? one for my speakers in the car and one for my subwoofers or can i just buy 1 subwoofer that can run both of them. Also is it absoultely necessary to upgrade your speakers in the car before you upgrade your subwoofers? BTW i have a sony explode deck.

how does the negative work though just connecting to the sanded thing?

@meloaleo Any part on the car that is metal, such as the chassis, is connected to the negative wire connecting to the battery, so basically when you put it to anything metal, it's connecting to the negative part of the battery.

hah you're screwing yourself with those cables, i have the same exact ones on my 760w pioneer amp, the cables only put out 680w so your amp can even peak, it's barely getting maintainable power

what can you hook up to an amp? any off road lights or anything like that? thanks

NEVER ground to the chassy; ground to the frame.

@puresofmeh You can ground to anything metal, it doesn't matter.

@TheFlawlessFilms If your ground it to the frame, you bypass a lot of resistance.
