@fiveightandten I know about mileage... XD I'm a diesel driver... I'm trying to say BMW diesel engines are shit, when you buy a diesel and spend all that money on it use your brain and buy a Merc... If you want Petrol car than you buy a BMW...:D
@spiff31 - It sounds like your fan clutch may be on the way out. The fan in the vid made so much noise because it's a fan off a diesel engine designed to push tons of air, and was coupled with the normal (read: wrong) fan clutch. Spin your fan by hand when cold, it should free spin a few inches easily after you let go. It it feels too tight, it's seizing up.
By the way, does the fan have any rough edges from the molding. If there are, would help the noise if you trim them off, that's a pretty loud fan though.
@kaoshonen - Yes, the diesel fan pushes more air. A lot more air, as you can see. But, like most mods, there is a drawback. I ultimately just bought a new stock fan and clutch, which i've been running for a while now. For my purposes, i'm happier with that.
Why even buy a BMW diesel... -.-'

Sounds like a truck :)

Maybe it's pulling air between the lip of the radiator surround and the ring that encircles the fan blades? Just a thought.

Oh, is the Euro diesel fan supposed to cool the engine better?

sounds like a vacuum cleaner. but maybe they made it that way so it'd cover up the sound of the diesel engines. :P
