@LiVeNLeArn001 "not a very good track. people who...." How old are you?? Were you there...?? 1988 - 1994...? Sorry but I don´t know if you call yourself a House Lover but this, this is a real classic.
The people who were there will know and understand real House, you.... you probably will never understand...
I have staggered around club dance floors through the 90's filled with various substances and this hook is etched on my brain and always will be. God I hope people are enjoying their time now as much as I did then. Love this tune
this song brings me right back! dance to the underground cd when i was 12 years old, and the side room at phoenix for classic house nights when i got old enough to go out and party!! people DANCED when this song came on... like i've never seen before!
hate to break it to you guys but deep chunky driving stuff like this still gets bashed out every week at back to basics in leeds! top crowd always bouncing. Stop reminiscing and get back out there! Acid-fucking -house! x
get out! thats amazing. I have a book on the Hacienda and sadly I was in the usa then, but 91-93 were good times. 808state & Strictly Rhythm all that. aces.
This is such a Junior Vasquez Sound Factory track. I miss house music when it was this deep. I will never forget how grateful I was to be young and part of the whole SF experience. It changed my life as a person and as a DJ!
@yesministerfan yes yes - always ended up bouncing in the big back room at the lazerdrome 'cos the hardcore room was getting well moody - this was one of the biggies in the back room as well as 4th measure men (4 you), all boxed in (happen), mariah carey (dream lover), smooth touch (in my house), helicopter (on ya way)...too many to list...brilliant days...
Top tune - hearing this half way through the night in a club in the early nineties, awesome time for music - you knew you were in for a top night when you heard this
I was born in 1989 so was too young to appreciate this first time round! love how whenever i listen to songs on youtube i end up listening to this oldskool house dub
You just have all of the classic early '90s cuts! Reminds me of all the old Chicago Loft parties with Derrick Carter, Lego, Diz, Traxx, Freak, Gene Farris, ect, ect, ect.
Havent heard this tune in, I`d say 15 years as they used to play it evry nite in a club I worked in & it used to wreck my head, but it`s a fookin Gem when I hear it after all that time, ages well like a good wine...

this track was bootlegged many times in the u.k and labelled as 'm.k - the keep'.
those kind of underground labels were notorius for getting the listings and track titles wrong back in the day.
maybe mr may did do a mix, but im pretty certain he never collabed with m.k on this one.
thephone 3 years ago
this aint a bootleg, its an official KMS release.
Still this is interesting and needs to be sorted out, damnit! ;)

this is deffo mark kinchen, got nothing to do with derrick may whatsoever.

This has hands down, for me, the best breakdown ever. This tune was so rockin' back in the day ( 16 years ago!!!). Still sounds amazing. The Club Vocal version was cool too ( is also up on YT).
I was never convinced that Derrick May was on this record and that it is a mistake on the credits. It sounds nothing like any of his other remixes but is a classic MK sound. I might be wrong, but I'm sure somebody knows for real whether MK and Derrick really did this together.
ressla 3 years ago
I,ll confirm your suspicions...as it happens i know derrick quite well, he signed my copy of relics back in the 90,s and got to know him through detroit conventions back in the day! he got credits 4 this track simply because 'strings of life' was made using a ROLAND JUNO KEYBOARD...and the strings in this track have been sampled from that tune, so MARK KINCHIN decided to have his name put in the credits purely for sales purposes! afterall his name does have a bit of weight to it dont u think!
