I'd like to add as a general note to others that this was good lip closure and sucking for AINSLEY who DOESN'T really do well with a bottle, and is not intended as an example of successful feeding of a trached child for others.

Right, we wouldn't, but babies can drink from a bottle while laying on their back. You're right it is not the best position. At the time that this video was taken she was unable to sit up. When in the highchair she would not tip the bottle up so she wouldn't get any water. Plus since her lip closure wasn't/isn't very good laying on her back would help the water go the right way instead of down the front. She was protected from aspirating due to swelling. Sadly she still will not take a bottle.

She did really great! She should be sitting up though when eating/drinking though. If you think about it, we dont lie down to eat or drink, it would be tough on us and harder on our little ones with special needs due to cooridnation. JMO though. Glad she is doing well!!!!!
