I have 2 brackets and they are wonderful- all parts are manufactured by manfrotto/bogen and very secure and well made. the rotator needs adjusting maybe every 6 months or every 40 weddings. These will last 10+ years.
worthless POS more crap that people don't need.first time you're in a crowd and someone bumps the flash there it goes broken off the shoe.like I said, worthless.
Bracket Review 1/4 : I bought this bracket from another photographer. I was really excited at first, but then I had all sort of problems. First, the camera would rotate to the vertical position with any slight movement I made while holding the camera. I had to keep constant pressure with my right hand onto the camera to keep it balanced and in place while in the horizontal position.
Bracket Review 2/4 : After that problem, I also noticed that the camera slowly dropped down in an angle from the plate (even when the camera was tightly attached to the bracket's plate). The plate and it's nob could not simply hold the weight of my Canon 24-70mm F/2.8 Lens (how disappointing). Another problem was not being able to use my Pocketwizards. the one attached to the camera would rub against the lft side of the bracket as I rotated the camera (it scratched my Pocketwizard).
Bracket Review 3/4: Finally, the weight was almost unbearable: it is well constructed that lightness and portability had to be scarified ; it was exhausting trying to work with this bracket, while balancing the camera to prevent it from twisting to the vertical position. I regretted buying the bracket, since I could not simply hold it long enough during my wedding photo shoots.
Bracket Review 4/4 : This review is only based on my personal opinion, and I do not claim that the same issues will some about for all users. I post this for you to consider ALL your options before making an expensive investment. (Used PRO Model with All Quick Releases, and Canon 50D)
This bracket is awesome. I purchased one a few months ago and it is really designed well and is high quality. I purchased the lite model and added my own quick releases. Mine does not weigh much at all. I works great with my Nikon d3 and my D700 with battery grip.
Looks good, but it's rather expensive--$365 or so for the Pro model. Also, he uses a Bogen mount. I much prefer the Arca-Swiss mount. That means that one can generally get only one type, size shape of QR plate. It's difficult/impossible to find anti-rotation plates for the Bogen mounts, for example. It's one size fits all instead of special plates for lenses, camera bodies, etc. That pretty much ruins an otherwise interesting product.
I'd add that, because Bogen uses different, incompatile mounts, one would often have to buy a different plate if one gets a new head. Many people who already use Bogen mounts would have to do that with this bracket.
This looks incredible! looks like i spunked £140 on the canon bracket for nothing :( , I would love to own one of these! having trouble finding it in the UK tho

Nah, you need a flash bracket of some sort if you want to keep the hotshoe flash
a) away from the camera
b) above the camera
When you turn the camera to a portrait profile you still need the flash to be above the camera which it wont be if its directly connected.

Why is there a Canon flash for the Nikon? Wouldn't that fry the hot-shoe?
