  • Yeah, 1:16? That is certainly not kittenlol

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

  • I knew there was something "off" about him. He just has this wild "off" look on him. Can't completely describe it but you can just tell he's not you're average domestic cat.

  • @theonlyzdog I know exactly what you mean lol. Love that look of wild cats as well as the cuteness of domestic ones xD

  • I WANT ONE

  • What would have happened to Canyon's ingrown claw if he was in the wild? Or would that have not happened at all?

  • @BigCatRescue Love the music for felis "margarita"! Someone has a great sense of humor over there!

  • ArebSandcats as rare as seeing a white tiger?

  • @dream4709 No, it's believed that only 1 in every 10,000 tiger cubs born in the wild are white and they never survive to adulthood and with only around 3000 tigers left in the wild, white tiger cubs are extremely, extremely rare and don't survive.

  • Captured during Desert Storm. I can imagine:

"AHHHH! Theyre shooting at us! Quick! Get the cats in the cage! Mail them to California!"

First thing that crosses my mind on the line of fire

  • WHOPPING 6.6 POUNDS

  • he's a beautiful little guy i hope he's around for many years to come :)

  • 2:45 Bollocks ^_^

  • I is sand cat. Of course they can be tamed, look at people taming lions tigers pumas cheetahs servals on youtube

  • So cute!

  • ohhhh i really want one shame cant have them as pets :(

  • Cute and spunky. That's what I like in a kitteh ;D

  • Calico Racing? There's Calico Racing?

  • so cute!!!!! i hope i can get domestic cat that is close to canyon, like the same fluffyness, and same size, so cute canyon is

  • Sand cats look like a mix of a cat and a fox.

  • @Kokokoko183 He does!

  • HES CUTE And chubby !!! :D

  • So cute and adorable!

  • SOOOO FLUFFY! i want it :3

  • Is that a real sheep, or is it really a cat?

  • They are such an adorable breed! :D

  • Comment removed

  • re pallas cat i mean another toy - not a real one.

  • I did find one plush toy sand cat thru a goggle search but didn't care for the design which was exaggerated. I'd want a toy that was shaped like a real sand cat. it would also be nice to have a life size realistic pallas cat in winter phase with the long fur.

  • Absolutly beautiful.

  • 1 Person got attacked by a sand cat...

  • I SO BADLY WISH I WERE ONE OF THE CATS LIVING AT BCR!!! it sounds crazy xDDD

  • can they be tamed to be domestic pet

  • @sworddice No, wild species of cats will never be tamed and will never make good "Pets" They may tolerate us but their wild instincts will always remain.

  • @BigCatRescue You could say that about cats in general, I firmly believe that "domesticated cat" is one of the most dubious oxymorons ever created!

It's almost like cat and human ancestors got together and decided to pull one hell of a ongoing prank on the world.

  • @BigCatRescue How big do they get?

  • @xTechnoKillerx Canyon is fully grown, they weigh anywhere between 3-9 lbs.

  • @sworddice No Way!

    they are WILD cats

  • cutest animal in the world besides pugs ^3^

  • GO CANYON!

  • Hmmm... I honestly thought sandcats were able to be domesticated but I ended up doing a bit of research...

    Interesting information out there.

  • Check out my video upload of my cat

  • Canyon has one massive ego. =.=

  • cats... they all look cute somehow. but in the end - they are merciless killers. you gotta love these creatures (:

  • So cute...

  • So is Canyon the only non-spayed or neutered big cat on your premises then since he's part of a genetic backup?

  • @apharot Another good question, the answer is now we have older cats that live alone that are unfixed, obviously all couples are fixed to prevent them from breeding but the older cats that are intact may stay that way, this is because it really isn't worth the risk to put them through the procedure at and advanced age :)

  • What happened to the kits who were shipped with him ?

  • I love him!

  • whyyy WHHYY do you cut tjeir claws???

  • @Frangm18 Canyon had an ingrown nail, probably just to help prevent that from happening again.

  • Hello sand cat, It's nice to meet you too! :D

  • Teacup tiger!!! SOOO CUTE~!

  • thumbs up if u came here from the poop splash video

  • 2:42 This cat has the biggest balls that a small cat can own!!!! my cat has so small balls we cant see if its a he or she!!!

  • i want one so bad im not even kidding though

  • Is he a cage bred cat, if not then why aren't you releasing him? And what happened to the other 4?

  • I can NEVER get bored of Canyon :) He's soooo cute! <333

  • Sancats....never heard of 'em before. Cute species indded, and so very peculiar facial traits :3

  • It's face is not to flat though ...good nose bridge, chin.

  • This is the first flat face cat l like. Yet it is wild and completely hard to raised for kids to play with ...I kind of like this sandcat. And I not a flat face cat person.

  • A suggestion: over on twitter everyone has fallen in love with the new baby sandcat in Israel. I know you sell stuffed toy big cats as a fundraiser. why don't you get someone to make you a life size stuffed toy adult sandcat & life size stuffed toy sandcat kitten. This would let you benefit from the "I want one effect" without breeding.

  • @eighthturtle Yeah good idea, I don't think any manufacturers make sand cat cuddly toys though, maybe we should write to them.....?

  • I would like cuddle him, but I think it would cost me an eye.

  • He's tiny. My big tabby is over ten lbs heavier.

  • @BigCatRescue is there a domesticated breed that looks like sand cats? my kitten looks exactly like one, it's so weird!

  • I could never own anything borderline wildcat... but I wonder if there's a domestic cat that has some of the physical qualities of these animals. Probably not. -Sniffles.-

Also... Just sigh at the people yammering about wanting the cat sanctuary to breed the cats for sale. Completely against what BCR strives for...

  • Sand cat or Saudi cat...get what I'm sayin?!

    Not funny ha :P

  • Fuck giving these people money, They could make way more if they breed and sold these. It's like your paying for not selling you a sand cat.

  • I wish these people would quit being stupid and start breeding and selling these little Gyes

  • They are perhaps the cutest things on planet earth.

  • It's Meowth from Pokey-moan.. oops, Pokemon.. Meow! =( ^.^ )=

  • kityy))they all are so nice)))

  • I tuoi video sono spettacolari!!!

  • i love those cute little stripes on his front legs

  • huge head!

  • @BigCatRescue have you got a video of Tricke?? .... and thank you for your great work :D

  • @sonogigs No we'll be making a video in the future featuring all the other lesser known cats/species at the sanctuary, so keep watching! :)

  • @BigCatRescue I think it's very important... because i was looking at your offers of donating and of course i know all the animals like your tigers, leopards and of course sand cats but i think i will donate to the leopard cat... I feel kind of bad for him :( he isn't known and appreciated by the public like the other animals that are in YouTube... maybe i'm a bit sentimental?!

  • @sonogigs Yes we need to make the video so people can see TrickE, we also have another leopard cat called MrE :)

  • @BigCatRescue ok i m tryin to get sum advise that wat their size and are they sutible for pets' THANKS!!

  • Its amazing that the sand cat looks similar to the Fennec fox xD beautiful creatures

  • wish I can kiss his forehead.

  • ARE ANIMALS, CATS MAGNIFICENT! Deserves all our respect! THE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY DESERVES A CHANCE FOR LIFE! A GORGEOUS WORK OF THE SHRINE! CONGRATULATIONS!

    HUGS,

    ROSANGELA D'ORO

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SOOOO CUUUUTE

  • doesnt need water??? damn badass

  • In this video it's very clear that Canyon has large ... er ... reproductive organs. These somehow aren't visible in the earlier videos. Has he ever had a chance to apply those reproductive organs (other than for marking his territory as he does in the video)?

  • @eighthturtle No, we do not breed at the sanctuary, but Canyon could become part of a species survival breeding program if required :)

  • @BigCatRescue If such a cat would enter a ''cat contest'', would they be able to particiape, or even win? I mean, sand cats must be more pure-blood than any other cat, and they look awesome. I'm not doing cat contest, I just wondered if it's allowed.

  • @K4inan What do you mean by cat contest?

  • @BigCatRescue Participate*.. Those beauty contests for cats, you've never heard of them?

  • So if your saving him for his genetics does that mean hes NOT fixed?

  • @FiestyCat86 Correct!

  • @BigCatRescue Well thats cool. I thought you guys were just a rescue, but you're also conservation. I learned something new today!! Woo hoo, so then may I ask, why is it that you didn't allow Cameron to be a genetics donor as well? Or was it that he was bonded to Zabu and you didn't want to have to separate them? Also do you have any other cats that are kept in tact for this reason?

  • @FiestyCat86 Good questions! 99% of our cats are rescued from captive situations, the sand cats were born from wild caught sand cats so their genetics were good and eligible for breeding programs to protect the species if needed. With the exception of a few cougars and bobcats who were born in the wild and unable to be released and now live at BCR, the rest of our cats are cross bred and/or inbred or we cannot trace their genetic history therefore they're not eligible for species survival plans.

  • @BigCatRescue wow thats a good reason. Its sad that Cameron will never be allowed to pass down that pretty mane, but it makes sense that you don't want to add bad genetics to the "pure" population. Thank you so much for answering my questions. I'm glad that I asked.

  • Canyon is amazing! I had never heard of a Sand Cat before. I am definitely going to help sponsor him. I will be coming to Tampa in a few weeks and hope to come to BCR. Keep up the wonderful work you do!

  • @luvslagos Sounds grrreat thank you!

  • Cute girl.

  • Sand cats look like they wouldn't be harmful... but i'm pretty sure they could eat your hand off...

  • @adoptadogSPCA Yup!

  • @BigCatRescue would they really eat your hand off? This kitty looks almost the same as my british short hair (tawny fur, diminutive size, green eyes and all

  • @crazyclarinetplayer They definitely wouldn't enjoy being a "pet" and would attack you if they felt threatened and had no way of escape, they are very much a wild cat.

  • I've seen those cats in the wild, I live in saudi arabia. best part is that people here know not to mess with the animals. =)

  • Nyaaaahh~ so cute >,< but i still wouldnt pet him...

  • I had a staring contest with a lion at the zoo and lost. Now I ask, do cats blink?

  • I dont know about the cutest cat you guys have..I think that might have to go to one of the Bobcats or perhaps the cougars.

  • thumbs up if you liked this video

  • they are so cute i would like one

  • Adorable cat

  • HA! no dislikes! :D

  • @username7046 Everyone loves Canyon!

  • "all 105 ounce of him" thats funny lol

  • One of my cats get that pissed when he has meat, the other one one touch meat.

  • I love sandcats

  • On a sidenote, wouldn't "wild cat rescue" be a more fitting name for your group in light of having small cats like these?

  • adorable, small but strong and fast and i just want to hug that fluff and puff cutie

  • Would you recommend sand cats as pets?

  • @HiddenFacedMatt Absolutely not! First, it's forbidden in most countries and second, their personality is completely different from normal cats and totally unsuitable for normal domestication.

  • @HiddenFacedMatt No, we wouldn't recommend any wild species of cat to be kept as a "pet"

  • Got it then @BigCatRescue

  • @BigCatRescue 6.6lbs wild cat? I have a 18lb domestic cat. Which i'm sure would do more damage then Canyon lol. Think about it. At one point all dogs/cats were "wild". If I was going to domesticate a breed, these seem like a good choice because of their size. And they're adorable.

  • @Loviekinz Did you hear them? He wasn't the least bit scared of having a lion and a tiger as his neighbors. I'm sure your cat would hiss and run off. Hes a wild cat that is small but has an attitude to make up for it.

  • Having two cats that allow me to live in their house, my first instinct upon seeing Canyon is to pick him up and bury my face in his fur.

...'course, if I did that, I imagine he'd tear me a few new breathing holes. But he's just so darn cute.

  • the only sad thing is the loneliness of these cats that don't have mates

  • I'm pretty sure my domestic cat is twice his size... hehehehehe he's very cute but that unique sound he makes is creepy. It scared me the first time I heard it >.<

  • Sound who makes, your domestic cat or sand cats? @loverlover2

  • u should get a sandbox wit sand in it and hide treats in it for him/her to dig it up

  • 1:43:

    "What's up, bitches?"

  • "help us make other people change the way they threat cats by - bla bla-" you really think that is possible? as far as i know 75 % of the human population acts like complete assholes and usually don't care about animals, or mistreats them and call them beasts and monsters. its fucked up and sad, but go ahead if you think you can change every asshole's mind.. :/

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 We won't change everything, but some change is better than none :)

  • @BigCatRescue yeah i guess you're right. i wish i could help, but im not good with heartless and sick minded people.. lol :I

  • Defeatist attitudes like yours are why so little gets accomplished in society today @cuzgandalfgothigh99

  • @neoYTPism WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?!?! IM ONLY HUMAN DAMNIT! :(

  • Do most of your sandcats eat food you provide them with, or do they find their own prey within their enclosure?

  • @FrostyGerman Yes, they eat all the food we provide them with, I'm sure they "prey" on bugs and the occasional lizard too

  • @BigCatRescue i want something bigger than a house cat everyone can get a house cat...do you know of any such technology where gametes from say a tiger and a domesticated cat can be crossed to give birth to a slightly smaller version of a tiger but larger than a house cat? >.> its either this or i wait till a japanease scietnist finds a way to splice my genes with a tiger >:) XD any info you may know will be of great help to me i really would like something special...something kids can be around

  • @wyvren1990 Serval cats. They are a mix between Wild and domestic and as far as I have read they can be trusted around children. I am not part of big cat rescue, I just saw your post and thought I'd enlighten you to a breed of cats i find very beautiful and interesting. You can find all sorts of stuff on the internet about them.

  • @MsMegawoot its ok my brother cat gave brith to 5 kittens is her first birth and 1 of the kittens is black furred with white stripes and its facial features resembal a tiger so im happy now ^_^

  • 6.6 lbs?! He's tiny! Hell, my cat is 15 lbs.

  • Do you guys have any cheetahs?

  • @Saleenacandyfansite No we don't have any cheetahs at the sanctuary :)

  • Canyon is so cute.

  • awwww how cute! im going have to buy one now! xD

  • how is the last cat called?

  • @amnieris We call Canyon our "teacup tiger" is this what you were referring to?

  • You should feed them live chickens. The chickens wont harm the cat.The cat is wild and strong.

  • @Humberto4790 We don't feed live prey to any of our cats unless they are being rehabbed for release back into the wild.

  • @BigCatRescue How many cats has BigCatRescue released into the wild?

  • @Humberto4790 We have successfully rehabbed and released 6 Florida bobcats to date....

  • @BigCatRescue Why do you release them into the wild? That's just stupid.

  • @BrettDunbar We don't :)

  • He's spectacular !

  • @AsriaLight it just means i have more brains so i'd thank them, for the compliment :)

  • My house cat weighs more than double of what Canyon weighs!

  • No Offense but why do kids reading ANYTHING these days sound like total retards? Just read it naturally.

  • looks like a normal domestic cat with an oversized head lol

  • how come you guys got that sand castle in there?

    o . o

has Canyon ever knocked it down, or dose he just ignore it and its still up?

  • @Ixbran We added it as some enrichment for Canyon, he sniffs around it and digs in the sand but hasn't knocked it down yet :)

  • @BigCatRescue

    Really, its Still there?!

    Thats so cute!

    x 3

  • Where do I get cats like this? lol

  • Do sandcats ever meow or make any noise besides the hissing/spitting they do?

  • @Gitsie007 Yes they do, I just haven't heard Canyon do anything but hiss/spit, which is just at feeding time.

  • CUUUUUTE. I want one (well a stuffed animal toy one to sit on my desk would be nice, LOL)

  • Sooo cute!

  • I think this is my favorite BCR video yet. I visited the site in 2008 and Canyon stands out in my memory! I remember the barrel. So cute!

  • Do you have to put mesh or wire or something over the top of his cage? It seems like he could climb over a regular fence.

  • @FeyBlaze Canyon's enclosure is constructed using 2x4 inch steel lattice which has a roof, so there's no chance of escape!

  • I have to put my cat on a diet-she weighs more than a Sand Cat. T_T

  • @kyuketsukisan19 my cat weighs 2 1/2 Sand Cats o_O zoinks!

  • 400+ likes and no dislikes! good job BTR!

  • SOOOOO CUUUUUTE!!!! I wan't one!!! Plleeeaaaseee! x))

  • Canyon is so adorable! Squeeeee!

  • do sand cats meow? so far the only sound i've heard from canyon is hissing and spitting
