@FuneralDivine nah, it's not a totenkopf device on his hat. it looked like it at first but if you pause exactly at 2:19 you see it's just a regular skull and crossbones. and the hat looks more soviet style, it's really big and round and flat.
great performance at live8 . it wasn't recieved ,by thecrowd, as well as it should have been , because a lot of the other acts there weren't rock . it's a shame this line up broke up
The crowd at the front were ''VIP's'' not your average VR Fans, this is a reserved area for the privileged corporate ticket holders they have for some gigs at Hyde Park, its a shame the real Rock fans get shoved to the back to watch from a distance.
When Scott starts sounding that alarm at the end every true rocker was foaming at the mouth, unfortunately the VIPs just seemed bored and probably thought it was too loud.
yeah but VR havent ever been that big over here in the UK, i didnt like them at all when they played, i hadnt herd their stuff before but i love their stuff now so. Maybe if they played today thred b a better reception
Its time to get over this GnR thing, the original lineup will never reunite. VR was bound to break up. Internal issues, not just Scott, but Slash was still using when they formed and he had his own manager separate from the band. And Brendan O' Brian producing Libertad, to me it sounded like a Pearl Jam record. VR is done. In my opinion Scott Weiland and Axl Rose are the last two great frontmen to come out in the last 20 yrs.
the havent split up they are just looking for a singer. as for the GNR issue they dont want to be with axl again so? :/
axl is a great frontman, scott is very average. every single one of the rolling stones has their on manager and they are the most sucsessful touring band bar GNR so facts speak for themselves so shut up :)
Yeah, VR is looking for a lead singer. Keep drinking the kool aid. As far as Weiland being an average frontman, who is out there now that is better, with stage presence. He made his name with a very successful band, STP, maybe you've heard of them. And Slash's seperate manager created tension with the rest of the band. The Rolling Stones are a corporation at this point and they understand their chemistry. You cant compare the Stones to VR.
And who the fuck are you to tell me to shut up? What are you 8yrs old? Did I hurt your feelings? Its my opinion. Fuck off and go listen to Linkin Park or some other nu metal pussy shit that is bieng passed off as rock n roll
justin hawkins? farr far better than scott, only a handful of other people who come close to him, Mick Jagger, Axl Rose, Robert Plant, Sammy Hager, if u dont believe me check out "get you hands of my woman" live big day out.
Slash's manager may have created tension but not as much as Scotts drink and drug addiction and it would have only caused tension with scott, cos duff and matt new that from GNR and Dave has been slash's best m8 from back in the days when he lived in the Canyon.
At least we agree the Stones and Zep are great. If I had a son I wouldnt turn him on to Linkin Park. Read Slash's book, he speaks about his manager and the business decisions that were made that led to getting a different manager. The rest of the band was pissed at Slash. They nearly broke up at that point. Water under the bridge at this point.
the darkness may not have been that big in america but they were the best thing since sliced bread. the darkness wernt one hit wonders in the UK.
if you have seen him live (iv seen them live twice) there is not a better showman to come out of this side of the milenium, he is truly phenomenal. to compare him to scott all scott does is dance like mick jaggers chicken dizzy on lemonade he doesnt get the crowd involved. Justin cant get enough of the crowd and still dances
Thats cool, its not my thing. I will agree however, Scott Weiland does dance around like Jagger and it drives me crazy. But back in the day with STP he was crazy onstage. He was always interactive with the audience, and he was full of energy.
It's really sad Scott has parted ways with VR. I really liked this lineup. And besides, I doubt Stone Temple Pilots will continue making records or touring.
Well I dont mean to shit on any Americans party but I am going to do. Pink Floyd and theWho were the head liners and rightfully so, and to all the star spandled banner lovers Slash is English too born in Stoke on trent. oooops.
it wasn't a VR crowd, besides which they were subjected to Peter 'fat unfunny northern twat' and Pete Doherty all on the same bill. Think most of the audience had to get stoned to get through those two. VR, The Who and Floyd rocked though
agreed, the crowd wasn't there for VR, the majority anyway, i was still in primary school but was well into VR, The Who and Floyd and they were all immense! Slightly less 'rock' acts like Keane were surprisingly good too though i have to admit. It was an immense concert, hard to beat. (Y)
