Didn't know Eric Singer ever played with Gary Moore. Eric is one of the best drummers out there and Gary Moore is one hell of a player but doesn't get enough credit for his heavy/rock playing.

Listen up, I'll say this just this once... NighWish is younger band, but that is not matter, they can compare to Gary, but the most of the people think that they cannot 'cause he is "fucking legend," and they say so because he is simply older than NW...I'm not that good in English,so I won't explain you anything, I'll just say that I am musician to, and I know what it takes to be a legend, I know that secret... It's a long way, and it takes a time, but Tuomas is still young.

Cover is always, and I mean always one level above the original... You would understand that if you were a musician... When you take someone song and do a cover, you are automatically rising that song to a higher level, because you are improving that song.. So cover can be better than original, which means that NightWish done better than this...

But, when someone takes your song, and do a cover, with his own changes, he automatically rise that song on a higher level... He improved your song... Understand now? Just tell me that you play guitar? Than I see why you think that original is always better... I play keyboards and piano, I do a lot of covers with my band, and we play this song too. NightWish done a lot of changes here,maybe not for guitar,it would be stupid to change guitar riffs in this song,this is a guitar song.But there's a lot of changes in harmony... A lot of backing effects that do not exist in original... The song is not the same anymore when it gets to Tuomas. :)

Ok, play keyboards, bass and drums, but I'm asking you which one is your professional instrument, which one do you play in the band and which one do you play the most? It's not just the guitar and voice changes, if you have professional studio monitors, you can hear much more. ;) Yeah, Gary is the Rock/Blues legend but Tuomas is one of the Gods of Metal, which means Legend of Metal... (and it is symphonic, power, melodic, epic metal musician)

And it is not matter what do you like or not, it is just a rule: Cover is the upgrading of the song, improving of the instrumental and vocals... You can hate new version, but the new version is upgraded, improved version of the old one... I do agree that composing is much more difficult, composing is the art, but cover is improving... It is like you make the guitar on your own, and than someone add the belt on it, and your guitar is better than before...

Sorry to drag this topic up again, but I really disagree with your opinion, or, as I read it, statement. There's no rule saying that a cover is an upgraded version of the original. Nightwish simply played it in their style. They didn't improve anything, they simply adapted it into their way of playing. And even if you make your own guitar, and someone adds a belt to it, it's still the same effin' guitar, it just has a belt on it because someone thought it suited them better.
