Just got my first Wii and this is one of the first games I'm going to get. I've played just about every single RE game except for the Wii ones of course. Rebecca was always one of my favs in the series that never got enough game time.

i say the reason the ported is cause its been 8 years since RE0 came out on gc. Since then they would have probaly ran out of new copies of the game and most people wont let there RE titles go (myself included) they ported it to wii since it was the newest system within the nintendo/capcom contract. it gave newer players a chance to play the game from the VERY start of the series and also boast steller graphics

@narutosasuketeam You never find out. The game ends with Rebecca and Billy standing on a cliff looking down at the mansion where RE 1 takes place. She goes to the house and Billy leaves...he probably got eaten by the same dogs that were in the woods at the beginning of RE 1 :)

Although alone in the dark came before RE, RE was the first game to be refferred to as "survival horror." Been a fan since.

Resident Evil 4 follows Leon Kennedy years after the Raccoon City incident and the zombies are no longer zombies infected by the virus. In 4 they are living people under the control of the Las Plagas parasite.

@Runeless agreed resident evil isnt true resident evil without the old controls however if they remade them all for ps3 and xbox then i think they should hav dead space controls shooter but have the fear aspect still. i prefer the original controls anyday though. but with these archives games there terrible, they dont have widescreen like the gamecube versions the wii controls suck and its not anything new its the exact same games just on the wii and not half as good as the gamecube ones.

The ai was intentional. Not some faulty programming error. The game was made in 1993 and it featured the most action in a shooter that has yet to be topped. So no, no shooter has surpassed Doom - hence why it is typically regarded as a legend among all the knockoffs that came after it.

I remember when Capcom released this game for the first time, I was kicking so much leech ass, it wasn't funny, but then again, it pretty much was. That and the Giant leech zombie things looking like an anorexic gumby or somethin. Point being that it was a good game, and i hope its still the same but with like better graphics or something.

I played 5 and was eager to kill stuff rather than to run away. In 0 I ran out of herbs, sprays, and ammo, then got taken out by gross wiggly leech creatures. To beat this game I had to survive... Here's hoping they bring some of that old time scariness back if they make a six after Alternative Edition.

I'm glad that it is Wii only, if it came out for the PS3 or 360 they might try to make it appeal to the RE 5 audience who got an action game and not a horror survival game. It is a dying genre, luckily the wii is getting a few this year.

I'm glad they're re-releasing the older RE games, but I can't help but wonder... What about RE2, RE3, and Code Veronica? Code Veronica's graphics might still be sufficient even today, but RE2 and RE3 might as well need remakes if they're to be re-released.
