Gasoline is nearly $4.00 per gallon, and raising, and over population (especially on the highways) has gone crazy. There is no comparison! The Japanese build, and have been building, gas saving, reliable cars for this screwed up day & age. The Honda Civic gets great gas mileage (about 38MPG highway), and are virtually indestructible.

Yes, European and Japanese automobiles are definitely the best looking, but its not just about looks. Its about reliability too. Just utilize Consumer Reports Magazine to do the comparison. American manufacturers have moved most of their plants to Mexico and Canada because americans are too lazy to work, but they want the most money for their poor quality labor. Do the research yourselves, and you will see that I tell the truth. American cars are junk!

@Tophairybutt lol I'm American but I have to agree that our PRESENT day cars are garbage, save for the vette and mustang. Most auto makers ruined out classics and turned them into honda knock offs.

But I'm sure I could find multiple classic US cars that you would like. We really dd have some great looking cars.

Also, if u look at influence..euro cars follow rallying and F1, US cars follow dragsters and NASCAR..so you can figure why euro cars handle so well and US cars are all about power.

Dont take me wrong, but if I had to choose one 40 years ago, Id definetely go for muscle... they are awesome! Cougar, Challenger, Mustang, Charger, Barracuda etc. but today I dont think they are as awesome as they used to be back then...

And so Id go for my things from home - European exotics... pure luxury and good engine. You only need to choose whether you want a car luxury or sporty... you will find something for sure...

The new Camaro also looks amazing. I remember seeing a car called the Aztec when I last visited (what were pontiac thinking!) I also drove a Pontiac Grand Am which has to be one of the worst designed cars ever. Never seen such a large car with no interior space. It drove like a bath tub. The Sebring I hired here in the UK looked like it was designed by a school kid. I just wish the designers could look at their technology and design and get back to making more great cars not just high end.

I would tend to agree in some respects with masked mans comments.  The US had had difficulty for some time with cars that can handle properly. However, here in the UK many US cars are a kind of hybrid of a european diesel engine (becuse most us engines are so inefficient) combined with poor badly fitted interiors (they look like they were flung together in some mexican sweatshop). However, when US puts it mind to it, it can make great cars e.g. the new challenger. continues....

I think what happened was that american auto makers forgot what american cars were all about for a long time. they are now getting back to what they should have been all along. that is performance auto makers. If people want luxury and status, they arent buying american but if they want a fast, well designed and reasonably priced car than they will go american.

Unfortunately, the ZR1 might just disappear like the Viper. Even if it survives, it's got a 6.2 liter  engine vs. a much more refined 3.8 liter in the Nissan. Don't get me wrong, I love the raw muscle and sound of the Vettes, but I think the GT-R is a more balanced race car for the track.

Depends where you buy them. Here in Europe the Corvette ZO6 costs 135 000€ and that is alot. In US of A it costs $80 00

So here American cars aren't so cheap that is why no one buys them.
