  • Porqué siempre unas u otras.....Disfrutemos lo que es bueno.

  • beautfilul singing,but...i don`t understand a word. is she singing german?

  • You should all listen to Gundula Janowitz singing this. There's no comparison.Gundula is truly ethereal.

    Vivienne Rendall

R.I.P. Aber ihre Stimme begeistert weiterhin Millionen, die sie verehren wie ich.

  • Tibaldi + Sutherland stand athwart the meridian of female operatic vocalists in the 20th Century.

    Unmatched + unsurpassed artistry.

  • This is my favorite piece sung by Sutherland. I also love Elizabeth Parcells's rendition.

  • I must say, I just don´t like so many portamentti... sorry...

  • It's a shame that's all you were able to hear.....rather missed the point I'm afraid.

  • The most beautiful version of this aria I have ever heard. As for her German, I think it's totally appropriate in the context of this opera; you don't want too harsh a pronounciation for this type of singing. Anyway, people always make negative comments about her so-called poor diction but as far as I know, neither the Italians nor the French nor the Germans ever complained about it. And in my experience, the criticism tends to come from people who don't speak any foreign languages themselves!

  • I totally agree with you

  • another gem, heard this for the first time. Can´t understand much of her German. But that´s nit picking in view of the ravishingly beautiful sound!

  • So beautiful...

  • Thank you for her live version of this aria. She sang so beautifully.

  • The most beautiful rendering of this aria I have ever heard.

I will likely be one of my favorite recordings of Dame Joan.

  • Anyone that rates 3 stars or lower is either shameless Sutherland hater or is hearing-impaired. When Joan was singing Agathe at Covent Garden, Lord Harewood came in each evening of the performance to catch the last act... and her singing of this aria. It was her singing of this music that first convinced him that she could be a star.
