Hey, i'm so sorry for the missunderstandig, but all of the tanks in this series are of a Fishkeeping fair near my hometown... in Duisburg 2009.
The filtration depends on the fish stock but 2x filters for each 600l should be ok for a 1200l tank, i think. At such a tank size you should think about using a 54l sump as filter.
hay man i have been asking around and got a few awnsers im getting a nother tank and want small cichlids i was thinking a convict but i dont know what esle and i kinda want them to breed so i can have a cool hybrid any idears
The creation of hybrids isn't any easy topic (and it's for me very hard to translate that). E.g. those distorted parrot cichlids or goldfish are the result of "torture breeding". Which should not be supported. I didn't meant it offending or something.
THis is the truth. Creating hybrids is fine, but don't expect to win any awards. Many fish shows are sponsored by devoted fish nuts who detest hybrids. In my opinion, as long as it dosen't give the fish any diffilcuties like feeding, swimming right, interacting, full steam ahead.

Hey man do you still keep switching fish or you have 10 of those 200x60x60 aquariums and what filters do you use,....?
I have 2x eheim classic potfilters 2217 ( 1000 liters a hour and 6 litler filter mass ) I will put them on my new tank ,.. do you think its enough?
Love and peace

Hey m8,
Thanks for the comment :D.
Yeah i found out later while reading the disciption that it was on a fishkeepingfair.
I may go with a sump but than using a cv pump and a DIY 80 liter ton where they normaly collect the rain water in ( i hope you understand.
So in principle a big eheim classic but than 10x the size with a big engine :).
The eheims stat that they do 1000 liter a hour , so 2000 a hour , so yeah i must agree with you the capicity is a bit low than .
Love,
Erik

A pure Tropheus tank is always very special.

Tropheus Sp. black "Kiriza" ?
jkdjedi 1 year ago
@jkdjedi:
They called it "Tropheus moorii kiriza, kaiser II". But yeah i think that's the same species.
n03lzz 1 year ago
yes it use to be classified w/ the Morrii, but scientists are now argueing about that therefore the Sp. Black classification.

@jkdjedi:
Classification of fish.^^
I try to find the english, the german and the scientific (latin) name. And all of those languages aren't sure about it, and got several synonyms.^^
The pure horror. ;)
Maybe i should start to post all names whether they're right or wrong or whatever.^^

Never really have liked african cichlids, but the bathybates genus makes me think otherwise

Bathybates are some nice predatory cichlids.

I've never seen African cichilds so peaceful.

@blownable:
If your keep them in the same group since they are juvenile, those Tropheus are very peaceful. But you cannot add anymore fish when they grow up.

@mrhepden:
I'd say that depends on the tank size and it's decoration and stuff.
A pair of convicts would breed in a three feet tank like hell. If you don't know a shop which takes the fry you might get some problems.^^
Personally i'm totally against hybrids (like most serious fishkeepers).
