For the first twenty years in America they had to fight the bigotry of of the WASP shitheads in America. It wasn't until the Civil War did they gain acceptance because they proved to be the best fighters in the Union Army. Today many American Irish are the product of multi cultural marriages. Irish-Polish, Irish-Italian, Irish-Native American and even Irish-Black exist.

Even back in Ireland the Irish are mixed ethnically, with Celts, Norman, and even Spanish backgrounds. There were other people in Ireland when the Celts arrived in eighth century BC. The AOH in America accept membership to people from mixed marriages as long as they are of the Catholic faith. You need to forget about racial purity anywhere, it doesn't exist.

@TheBlarges There is no such thing as racial purity, it doesn't exist. Even white anthropologists will tell you that. Human occupation of the land mass known as Euro-asia and Africa has existed for over 100 millennia. So with all the cross interaction has led to cross breeding among all those groups. Outside of maybe some isolated populations in Asia or Africa, there is no racial purity. Even Native Americans now have European or African genes. You're not racial pure, deal with it.
