I do historical reenacting all the time, so its funny to watch this and see all the 80's New Wave imagery thrown in with attempts to portray a period like the Depression. But for what it is, this truly was indeed cutting edge for 1984 and a damn good song. It was a favorite then, and still is.
@CAfontguy My god if MTV could just bring back some vintage vids to watch on the tube besides this tube it would rock...but..you see where these things are taking us now..pc's i should say....
Terri Nunn had a great voice, but she didn't get much recognition for it, similar to Benatar. I guess you don't if you're the lead singer in a rock or synthpop band. Jessica Simpson did a horrible cover of "Take My Breath Away", didn't even come close to the original. Thankfully for Jessica, she has gorgeous breasts.
Actually, the original 101 Dalmations movie came out 23 years before this video was made. This video was actually based on Bonnie & Clyde, the real life boyfriend/girlfriend bank robbers of the 1930's.
i fuckin love 80s videos. i find it amusing now when theres a video that has NOTHING to do with the song lyrics but the singer sings them throughout the video. like this one. good times. good times.
wow....what a powerful music video! This is one of my favorite.. And Terri Nunn has a stunning voice, as well as being a stunning-looking woman! I really like this song, and also her "For All Tomorrow's Lies';one of the best in my opinion.
my parents have a jukebox and we used to all stay up late a listen to 80's classics when i was like 8-9 but my parents divorced....btw we used to listen 2 this song all the time good ol' days!
FYI: -Bonnie&Clyde's preferred getaway-car was the '34-FordV8, yet in most of the scenes here they are shown sporting a '35-CaddieV8/V12? (-which was entirely possible, as they stole most of their rides)! To bad they didn't understand that the reason they were dirt-poor, was owing the Rothschild/Rockefeller arch-criminal Bank'sters that were even then bent upon destroying America for their selfish reasons of control over the lives of decent human-beings like Bonie&Clyde wanted to be...
Ah, the '80s: when video directors grafted hit songs like this one with themes (like Bonnie & Clyde) that had no connection to the song at all. What, you say directors still do that? Oh, OK . . . never mind. I'd still rather watch this than that awful-80s-costume drama they made for Scandal's "The Warrior" (a song just as good as this, sung by a babe just as hot as Terri).
After the invention of the motorized vehicle came the frolicking of cars, alas a wayward family driving off into another sunset fell off a steep cliff
I just love Teri Nunn's whiny strong loud vocals. (NO MOOORE WORDS). Love this song. Especially the keyboards and drum beats. W e used to dance to this at Dillons in Westwood back in the 80's. Those were good times.
Way brilliant viddy! I would've liked to see a concert clip instead. But cool nonetheless. Makes you want to watch "Bonnie & Clyde" all over again. Did Arthur Penn direct the video? It would've been awesome if Gene Wilder, Estelle Parsons or Michael J. Pollard had a cameo in it. Was that Stephen Tobolowsky getting killed at the end?
This is one of those videos that I wish I'd never seen. The image I always got in my head when I heard this song was an urban setting in the 80's. Not some Depression Era Western.
Oh well, I've seen more disappointing videos - Will to Power's "I love your way" was worse. I pictured a couple spending a romantic snowy winter night up north at a restaurant or cuddled at a fireplace - look at the video, and it's a bright summer day in Miami.
Every time i visit Youtube this is the first video i put on. this has to be one of my favorite song from the 80's even if im only 13 years old. AWESOME MUSIC and VIDEO!
You just DONT see them like this anymore. It reminded me that there's a "Bonnie & Clyde" remake with Hilary Duff as Bonnie being made. I hope it DOESNT suck.
I had the pleasure of seeing her with the rest of the band live when she toured Down Under in 1984... Man she was (and still is...) HOT!! and she went OFF..!! Imagine if she was in Star Wars, I would have seen it in a completely different light.
No she wasn't. She went on a radio show and shot that rumor down. For one thing, she would have been just under 16 when it was shot, and Bob Guccione wouldn't have touched that with a ten-foot pole. Different girl, different "physical attributes". Sorry.
I've seen them perform twice in the last 5 years, and she is such an awesome singer. She has a very strong voice and a magnetic stage presence.
I've always enjoyed listening to the Berlin songs, but this one holds great significance in my life today. It's an empowering song for someone going through a breakup.
wild song, still so great all these years later, berlin had some great tunes, terri nunn was and still is white hot and had such a great powerfull voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! An amazing song. Im so glad i grew up in the 80s. Kids in the 90s and 2000s have been cheated on music. They have none that will be memorable when they are grown.
i love how the 80s had these videos that had absolutely NOTHING to do with the song while the singer just sings away. i love it! the 80s were truly awesome. i'm so very thankful those were the days i came of age.
Terri Nunn, still beautiful after all these years. I love her and her powerful singing. I missed her concert at Pipeline Cafe in Honolulu. Come on back!

I love this song, remember dancing to it so many times in the 80's, but this video SUCKS - sorry, why would they make a video about a lame bank robbery from the 20's ? The lyrics are intense and are all about insincerity and lip service, what the HELL does that have to do with this video?
