I prefer to think of Jimmy Eat World as the fathers of alternative music and new school punk; they've influenced Blink-182, Paramore, and almost every band of the modern music scene sounds like mini Jimmy Eat World bands lol. They've changed generations of music and no one seems to give them credit for or realize that. Long live J.E.W. =)

Yeah they have some songs that would fit into punk and mainly pop but most of their songs are a alternative rock, emo feel. Most of there songs also have some sort of musicianship while most punk bands just play power chords. And his voice is a little higher puglover87 because its acoustic and he chooses to go falsetto sometimes.

You know with the technology they have now, they could have fixed what ever vocal mistakes they made in this recording right? I doubt they had to, i've seen JEW live enough times to know Jim's the real deal. But don't use these "AOL Sessions" as any basis, it's easy to fix mistakes.

I'm not using this video as a basis to say they are they are great. I have seen them live a few times and they sounded great also. I was just commenting how they actually sound like they do on their records, unlike some bands that almost completely synthesis their voices.
