This was #1 on WAKY on October 3, 1968. It got bumped to #2 the next week by The Company Front's "Im So Happy Now". For the week of October 10, 1968 3 of the Top 5 songs were by Louisville artists. We had a great sound here in the Derby City.
He had a nice ballad called "Have a Happy Happy Time" I discovered recently - very different sound from this. Sorry he's ill; he has a really fine voice.
anyone who grew up in the late 60s in Louisville, KY remembers this song. This guy was a disc jockey who had a rock band. This was a very very big record for them. Love this, Tom. Lots of memories.

Just heard Tom passed away. What a shame. I saw Tom Dooley and the Lovelights at Club 68 in Lebanon, Ky. Great show. R.I.P.

@plumpermandotcom - Oh man, I hadn't heard. I knew he had been sick for awhile. He will certainly be missed!

Good disc-jockey and great frontman who could play trumpet . This record should have gotten farther than it did.
