The park is called Disney Hollywood Studios now. Im assuming its because they lost there rights to mgm, but its just a guess.

they lost them a long time ago. thats why it always had "Disney's" before MGM...but people were still getting them confused calling it MGM

they did not loose the rights, it was renamed to be more representative of where Disney stands today

It's actually very similar to the buzz lightyear ride and the new monster's inc. hide and seek ride opening at hong kong disneyland.

Toy Story Mania will also be opening at California Adventure as well. Incidentally, the ride was originally designed for California Adventure, then they decided to built it at Disney's Hollywood Studios (formally Disney-MGM Studios) too.
