@EntinludeX Of course, you value life. Did I say "only" Christians? I was speaking in general terms. After you read something you really ought to understand where the person is coming from. Noticed you've been hanging around here a lot. You either like to build Christians' Heavenly homes or you're bored. Why do you wish to pick a fight and judge Christians?
"For judgement is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement." James 2:8
@exiled30 "Why do you wish to pick a fight and judge Christians?"
Because Christianity is an obscene abhorrent abomination to the human dignity, it degrades life.
"You either like to build Christians' Heavenly homes or you're bored."
Heavenly homes for Christians, while hindu children die in grass uts & african children dehydrate in the scourched earth. Typical Christian arrogance. As if heaven were for you.
@EntinludeX Degrades life? Didn't you just watch the video? As for the Hindu and African children dying, why don't you help them or are you, too, busy judging the people that pay tithes to fund the missions that help these children?
Heaven's for believers in Jesus, that we are dead in spirit, and only Jesus' sacrifice can save one's soul.
"For I consider that the sufferings of the present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Rom. 7:21
@exiled30 "As for the Hindu and African children dying, why don't you help them or are you, too, busy judging the people that pay tithes to fund the missions that help these children?"
Interestingly, I posed that EXACT same question to god. No answer.
"For I consider that the sufferings of the present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Rom. 7:21
Ah, of course. He's too glorious to actually make it rain on crops.
@EntinludeX God doesn't listen to you. You must first humble yourself and acknowledge Him that He is Lord and Savior. It's not about the things of this world. You're complaining about material elements. You're complaining about the result of a fallen state. Jesus did not come down here to make things physically better. The world is what it is. Jesus came her to fulfill a promise that our souls can be saved. So, that when we die, we can live in a perfect state without suffering and pain.
@EntinludeX Doesn't exist? Are we making things up?
He gave us life which you seem to enjoy. He does what He wills. However, it was us that decided to place ourselves in danger with our self-righteousness. You're attitude towards God is a prime example of us putting ourselves away from God.
It can't be a bribe if you're not able to be willing to take it. It's a gift given by Jesus if you are convicted of this belief in Him. Remember there is nothing that we can do to save ourselves.
@exiled30 "Degrades life? Didn't you just watch the video"
Yes parading the malafflicted before the missinformed & mythinformed for sympathy in order to peddle fraudulent fables is quite the dehumanizing atrocity. It's a true pity you can't see this hurricane of lies for what it is.
@Galatians1ten said "You're right. It's too bad secular humanists didn't intervene. They would have aborted him instead."
No, they would have loved him as one of their own, but they would not have praised an imaginary god for "blessing" them with a child that was limited. They would teach the child to maximize his situation but not to thank a god for making him challenged.
It is hard not to call you a name at this point. You are a rude person.
@EntinludeX Mythinformed? Are we making up words? I thought an atrocity was children dying not somebody that's being lifted up. They are informed; they study their Bible. You do not.
"The wise lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near." Prov. 10:14
"Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid." Prov. 12:1
@EntinludeX Obvious? Listening to you, apparently not. You claim that those Christians are misinformed, yet it is not they that shoot their mouths off about something that they do not know. They are disciplined and are knowledgeable of what they do. You on the other hand like to tell lies about these people and other Christians without discretion.
"You are of you father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. ...for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44a,c
@exiled30 "You claim that those Christians are misinformed, yet it is not they that shoot their mouths off about something that they do not know. They are disciplined and are knowledgeable of what they do"
diciplined in mythology & misinformation. How cute.
"u are of you father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. ...for he is a liar and the father of lies." So sayeth the ghost who cannot lie.
@EntinludeX "The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult." - Proverbs 12:16
"They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart." - Ephesians 4:13
"The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor." - Proverbs 15:33
@exiled30 ""For judgement is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement." James 2:8 "
And so I judge your merciless genocidal blood god as an unpraiseworthy fiction.
And so I judge those who follow it a throwback to the barbarism of the Bronzeage & the Dark Ages.
A god who invented death, in order to perfected blood sacrifice, because it's every law is one enforced by capital punishment & torture. To preach of "mercy" is a disgusting slander of the word.
@Stianchez Okay, if your claim is that every chemical reaction is different leading to different results, that's fine. But it would still be objective.
RAWR! I'm an atheist and I'm gonna spam your page with stupid one liners until you're all bowing before my infinite wisdom! I am man; hear me roar! As for the video, that boy should have been aborted; we don't need that unnecessary burden on the world. Oh, and for all you stupid Christians out there I just have to say this; Haha. You're stupid. I'm gonna go argue on with someone else now cause I got nothing better to do with my time.
@jwissick - And you would've supported aborting this child had it been learned that he was blind while still in the womb, so look in the mirror, dear James, and see that accusing finger pointing back at yourself.
@jwissick - You obviously don't know any blind people, James, or if you do, you pity them for their condition where your pity is neither deserved nor wanted by the person.
The alternative is that by virtue of there being no God who imparts within us his likeness, which makes us all equal, this boy is less worthy our time, energy, and kindness as he is almost useless to our community and should've been put down at birth to save us all the hassle.
@aveyowyns Wow, the fact that you would suggest such a thing even as sarcasm speaks volumes about how you view the visually impaired. Seriously. I can't believe I just read that.
Nope. It speaks volumes as to how YOU MUST view the visually impaired. You have NO BASIS for claiming that the mentally/physically handicapped should be treated equally to yourself when you all are clearly not equal based on naturalistic standards. If you can see and this boy cannot, then by your own standards (if you didn't steal from Christian morality and values), this boy is lesser than you are because you are made 'correctly,' and he was not. In your world view, people...
No need. The lack of 'umph' in your responses is proof enough to me that you have nothing valuable to say or are incapable of refuting it. It's a problem YOU have to live with, not I.
You don't have a monopoly or ownership on where morals come from. Christian morality says slaves can be owned and women raped if you want to marry them.
@jwissick Christianity does not condone slavery nor women being raped. In the Old Testament times, yes, there was slavery amongst the Jews, but it was not slavery as we know it today. The Bible did not condone nor condemn the keeping of slaves, but did set down guidelines for the treatment of slaves. They were to be treated very well and provided for..never to be abused.. and slaves were to be set free in the 7th year, the year of Jubilee..not held onto for life.
The bible absolutely does condone owning slaves! Leviticus 25:44- is quite clear.
It was the exact same kind of slavery. And they were NOT treated well. There is no possible defense for one person owning another under any circumstances.
And the jubilee joke only applied to Hebrew slaves... not the non-hebrew slaves.
@jwissick I've heard of people going in debt and declaring bankruptcy, killing small business owners with million dollar or more debts in REAL LIFE examples. Slavery is demonized because it has a bad rep. Perhaps it's demonized in similarity to atheism, which has a bad rep for killing millions and millions and millions through a plethora of dictators...
@GeneralZap I think slavery is wrong not because of a bad rap but because it strips people of their dignity and agency. I don't think atheism is that bad. I can't think of a valid logical pathway from atheism to destructive dictatorships.
@jwissick Hmmm, let's look at a definition of slavery; "a person entirely under the domination of some influence or person". Interesting, that happens to sound a lot like jail. In jail you are dominated against your will for "bad decisions", "crimes", or whatever you wish to call them. You are a slave to a system for years, per say unless you can pay a fine. I do wish to unleash some of these wonderfully "moral" persons in your community.
@jwissick There is a difference. A prison simply has a more exclusive clientele. Oh wait... they don't choose to be there; it's essentially slavery because they are chained to a system.
Your argument is that prisoners have freedom... This is simply not the case. In fact in some locations (if not simply the best locations), they make prisoners work. Imagine that, working for the food your eating just like everyone else! How horrendous!
@GeneralZap "In fact in some locations (if not simply the best locations), they make prisoners work. Imagine that, working for the food your eating just like everyone else"
You can't seriously think prisoners work "like everyone else". What a bald-faced canard.
@GeneralZap No. The difference is that one is based in justice (prison) and the other is an injustice. And most prisoners don't work at all and those that do are paid. Slaves are never paid.
@jwissick If you utter another unnecessary addendum in a supposedly objective "debate", conversation, et cetera, I may be forced to assume you do indeed suffer from the Dunning–Kruger effect.
The word slave in your mind is simply too narrow minded if you think they are not paid at all. Human sex trafficking is the most popular type of slavery, with "1.39 million victims of commercial sexual servitude worldwide." These persons indeed may get paid some, but that does not change anything.
@jwissick Oh and rofl! "Morality"... Morality is just a dictation of the will of the majority of people really, if there is no God to derive morality from. So let's go burn dem KKK'ers at the stakes for killin dem dar Jewisj friend of ours! YARR! Morality? Rofl. There is no such thing as a reliable morality because history shows it can be "suppressed", destroyed, or warped, en mass.
@jwissick You need to watch this - /watch?v=JtOI6OKXTlo targets slavery and reads it for you so you can understand it and nto read one sentence and go ah ha!
Also Christians do infact have monopoly over morality. Objective morality can only come from a God, now we can debate which is the correct one, but if there is no God, there is no moral law giver. And everything is subjective.
So indeed, we do actually have monopoly as there can really be no true moral values on atheism.
@Stianchez Really? You have a monopoly on morality? Then why do the other non-christian nations exist for thousands of years? They should have torn themselves apart if YOU have the monopoly on morality.
I reject your claim as ridiculous. My morals are superior to your god's morals.
And that *kid* is just repeating what his pastor told him. He is 100% WRONG about slavery.
@jwissick "YOU have the monopoly on morality." If there is a God, then morality is planted in everybodies hearts. He created you and me, and everyone else for that matter. On the christian world view you don't have to be a christian in order to have moral values planted within you. Just becuase you reject God doesn't mean the moral values he planted in you disappear.
Does that make sense to you? Also
"Pastor told him" He's reading straight from the bible brother.
@Stianchez "If there is a God, then morality is planted in everybodies hearts."
That would be true even if god did not exist. Human nature would still be what it is: that of a generally altruistic social mammal. God or no god. Or gods.
"On the christian world view you don't have to be a christian in order to have moral values planted within you."
@Stianchez But it's not on everyone's hearts. What about the psychopath or sociopath? They have no conscience at all! That only makes sense under evolution.
And it doesn't matter what that kid was saying or where it came from. The bible is clear that slavery is allowed. ANd that is immoral. He is simply wrong.
@jwissick It is on everyone's heart. Just because there are laws there doesn't mean you cannot disobey them. If everyone followed these laws, then we'd already be in heaven. There would be no evil.
I'm not surprised tat there are psychopaths and what not. During the time of the cainan they sacrificed their own children, and rape was a daily exercise. People are evil and corrupt, and follow their own desires. This is what we call Sin.
@Stianchez "It is on everyone's heart. Just because there are laws there doesn't mean you cannot disobey them."
Again, this would be true god or no god. People will either do helpful or harmful things.
Ethics is not a matter of OBEDIENCE or DISOBEDIENCE.
"During the time of the cainan they sacrificed their own children" Didn't god ....tell Abraham to do that? Didn't god do that himself? Isnt' christianity BUILT on a child sacrifice? Clearly god approves of child sacrifice.
@EntinludeX "Again, this would be true god or no god. People will either do helpful or harmful things"
The issue here is not whether or not people disobey or obey moral truths, the issue is that there ARE moral truths to obey or disobey. You're missing the point
Some would say Satan tempted Abraham to sacrifice his son and God stopped it, others would say God did it, eitherway. What's wrong about going to heaven? There's a bunch of seminar on that passage alone
@Stianchez "The issue here is not whether or not people disobey or obey moral truths, the issue is that there ARE moral truths to obey or disobey. You're missing the point"
No the point is that moral truths, like the gods who are credited with them... are man-made. That ethics is a human creation.
"What's wrong about going to heaven?" Celestial totalitarianism. Just for starts.
@Stianchez "Some would say Satan tempted Abraham to sacrifice his son and God stopped it, others would say God did it, eitherway"
Surely if either god & satan are so interchangable on the issue of coaxing & utilizing human sacrifice the ethics cannot be so flippantly dismissed. What good is a god if the devil will do the same work for free?
@EntinludeX You did nothing to answer my moral truth reply. All you did was say "They are man made"
You can account for objective morals? How?
Celestial totalitarianism, now that's new. Please expand on the issue.
First of all, right of the bat, I cant remember God ever sacrificing a human being besides his Son to pay for our sins, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. Your argument is a strawman, and a horrible bible apologetics. Attack the real bible, not a fictional one.
@Stianchez "You can account for objective morals? How?"
Human health & wellbeing is quite objective. Thats why the golden rule works in every religion since the dawn of civilization. It's a matter of social behavior. Not supernatural edicts from a ghostlord.
"Celestial totalitarianism, now that's new. Please expand on the issue."
Do you not grasp totalitarianism? Law by divine fiat or edict enforced by capital punishment?
@Stianchez "Your argument is a strawman, and a horrible bible apologetics. "
No, I dont' appologize for the Bible. It's amalgimation of bronzeage barbarism & ironage superstiton. Useless crap.
I'm not the one claiming ethics is something other than a mere human contrivance. Humans are social mammals, so it stands to reason our social orders would have ever-changing rules that suit our current purposes & cultural contexts.
@EntinludeX I dont know what you refer to as useless crap, but we're not talking about the same bible here based on what you're saying. If you want to critize the bible. Make sure you target it correctly, and not based of you reading one sentence and making it out to be whatever you prefer it to be.
Lets break this down. Either move to pm or one question at the time.
#1 Social behaviour? Why isn't killing someone for your social improvement regarded as good then?
@Stianchez "If you want to critize the bible. Make sure you target it correctly, and not based of you reading one sentence and making it out to be whatever you prefer it to be."
Right because obviously the Bible is whatever you prefer it to be. Silly me. lol.
"Why isn't killing someone for your social improvement regarded as good then?"
WTF exactly do u think the supposed crusifiction of Jesus is claimed to BE? Exactly that! To say nothing of the Defense Department or Capital Punishment.
@EntinludeX "Right because obviously the Bible is whatever you prefer it to be. Silly me. lol." There is a wide consensus on the bible, you're not following that at all. Even critics will disagree with your opinions.
Jesus sacrificed his life, willingly for you to pay for your sins. That's far greater than any man sacrificing himself in order to save another person
#1 On your standard, I can shoot you and take your money and that will be okay?
@Stianchez "There is a wide consensus on the bible, you're not following that at all. Even critics will disagree with your opinions."
Yes I have no issues going against the consencus of the missinformed & mythinformed.
"Jesus sacrificed his life, willingly for you to pay for your sins. That's far greater than any man sacrificing himself in order to save another person"
You mean an immortal god masqueraded as a mortal & feigned his death. Real people stay dead & ACTUALLY sacrifice.
@Stianchez "2/3 of america disagree with iraq war"
Right, just like Christians didn't have anything to do with the Dark Ages, the Inquisition, the Crusades, the IRA, the genocide of the Native Americans, or the slave trade or the holocaust. I bet.
Infact "true christians" are like "true muslims". Imaginary.
Must have been those OTHER fake christians. *wink wink*
@EntinludeX You seem to be obsessed with this mentality "If one guy does it, then that means everyone else must be evil" The thing is, that you fail to understand. We are sinners, we have sin in our nature. We are imperfect beings affected by our lust and affections.
There is nothing in the bible that envokes Christians to go on Crusades or kill native american, that is the fault of man.
You didn't answer #1. It's a yes or no question. Either it's true or it's false.
@Stianchez "Militant" Hilarious hyperbolics. Sarcams is militant? Holy shit, I can see you're clearly oversensitive about your superstitions but get a grip, child.
"On atheism, there are no absolute moral values" No, you're mistaking disbelief in gods for philosophical ethical & moral accountability. Those are two totally seperate topics.
"Unless you have a different explination?
Nope, obviously human ethics arn't man-made, but come from the instructions of some supervisory ghostlord.lol.
@EntinludeX but before I do so, I want one questioned answered , how can something be
"just good" if it can be just good based on the chemical reactions in your brain, then whatever is good to me is then regarded as good? Authority decide what is good? God? or government? so following hitler killing jews was good?
@EntinludeX It doesn't matter what hitler defined himself as as long as he doesn't follow the guidelines. It's like calling an orange for an apple, based on it's traits.
Hitler entire mein kampf was based on the promotion of the arian race. Kill off the jews and the black people because they were closest to ape according to hitler he was an evolusionist. Just like Stalin.
PS, who wrote the constitution? Where did their moral values come from?
@Stianchez "It doesn't matter what hitler defined himself as as long as he doesn't follow the guidelines. It's like calling an orange for an apple, based on it's traits."
In that both are fruit you context missing simpleton. Just like Hitler was a catholic.
WTF does biological evolution have to do with Stalin or Hitler you canard waving twat?
@EntinludeX I will leave you with this, hitler was not a christian. Read his Mein Kampf. The whole idea was to promote the arian race. Second, after Stalin adopted the evolution theory he went and killed millions of people because he thought it would progress evolution.
Third, if there is no God. There cannot be any true moral values. Everything is subjective. My morals derive from my chemical reactions, and your morals derive from yours. Thus you cannot have an objective standard.
@ddrninjette Uhh.. I dont think you grasp the entire concept of objective and the fact that no chemical reaction is the same. If you mix vinegar with baking soda in a glass, and do it over 10 times. The end result will be similar, but the reaction itself will not be identical.
Meaning it's subjective in its own terms, and extracting the information from it will give different results every single time.
That is refered to as subjective, as they are different, and not objective.
@ddrninjette I'm trying to explain it to you. Your reactions if you are just chemicals. Is just like mixing vinegar and baking soda. It's a reaction. No chemical reaction is the same, thus there would be no similar morals. Since everyone would have morals based on their chemical reactions, and since they all difffer. Their reactions would also differ and there would be no standard of morality.
@Stianchez "#1 On your standard, I can shoot you and take your money and that will be okay? You didn't answer #1. It's a yes or no question. Either it's true or it's false."
First, Yes/No is not the same as True/False. Learn the difference.
Secondly, your quesiton is invalid to begin with as that was never my standard to begin with.
@Stianchez #1 On your standard, I can shoot you and take your money and that will be okay?
If I thought it was wrong? Like I'd know.
Like I have any chance of forming an independent basis of right and wrong outside of the instructions of some supervisory being. No, sir, I'm the total bitch of a celestial bronzeage ghostlord. Ethics is clearly just a matter of mere survile obedience to what you're told by the edicts of totalitarian authority, not a job for thinking for yourself. lolz
@Stianchez "#1 Social behaviour? Why isn't killing someone for your social improvement regarded as good then?"
So when America goes to war...wtf do you think that IS? Killing someone for your social improvement. When we execute a prisoner in jail....wtf do you think that IS? Killing someone for your social improvement. The vicarous redemptive blood sacrifice of Jesus...wtf do you think that is exactly?
We benefit from killing people ALL THE TIME. Thats why it's fucked up.
@Stianchez No. The psychopath and sociopath don't have it "written on their hearts". They are mentally ill. They have no sense of right or wrong at all.
@jwissick As to women who were raped in Old Testament time, the meaning was that the man was to marry her and care for her not just throw her aside and leave her destitute. It is not what you are implying at all. You are coming at the Scriptures with your own prejudice trying to make them say what you want them to. If you study the meaning and do some research, you will find what I am saying is true. God never condones rape! How absurd sir!
@wearymom2003 I absolutely can't believe you are defending this! Being forced to marry her attacker is the best idea your god who is supposedly omniscient can come up with? I can think of bunch of better ideas.... Like explaining it's not her fault and doesn't subtract anything from her intrinsic worth. This is a commandment from a loving god? Pretty sad excuse for a god.
But no. Your god condemns her to a life with her attacker to be abused over and over behind closed doors.
@jwissick, You hadn't said that in our conversation or in the initial comment of yours I replied to. I just want to be clear that I am correct in applying this statement "rape and slavery are immoral" to being approved by you; dont want to put words in your mouth. -- also are the terms 'immoral' and 'bad' close enough in their definitions for us to use them interchangeably in this discussion?
...are just clumps of matter with highly sophisticated chemical reactions; returning a faulty ipod (after which the store might throw it away) should be of no more significance than the infanticide of 'broken' or 'faulty' people.
@ddrninjette - Actually, such a thing has been not just suggested, but endorsed in all seriousness by people on your side of the argument. In fact, these people think "defective" children can and should be put down up to age 2 (possibly older). Reject God and everything becomes allowable and justifiable and your objections become nothing but hot air.
Sure, they claim it will be limited to children who are terminally ill or suffering (and who knows how they define "suffering"), but that's what they claimed when they started euthanizing adults. Then they added those with incurable diseases who weren't dying. Then it was those who simply wanted to die.
@JMcH In other words, there is currently no serious, substantial, nor otherwise known voice that is advocating for the killing of the visually impaired. The fact you think the visually impaired would be considered unfit to live by others is disgusting and insulting in the 10th degree. How can you even think such things?
Which is why my eyes were operated on when I was so young... No, these procedures and medical advancements are just as applicable or more so to the extremely young.
The alternative is that by virtue of there being no God who imparts within us his likeness, which makes us all equal, this boy is less worthy our time, energy, and kindness as he is almost useless to our community and should've been put down at birth to save us all the hassle.
What's with the tears, Todd? Feeling pity for the blind kid? You offend me. As much as I encourage this kid to sing, I wonder if this constitutes borderline exploitation. Can't tell from this video alone. Anyway, the kid needs a cooler cane.
@ddrninjette How could a person not have tears of joy hear. Even as Todd has here. And trust they are tears of joy, considering I too live in Georgia and know Todd. Besides "pity" is a godly sense is what God the Lord has for us miserable sinners deserving of hell forever when He stepped in the world and took on human flesh and died on a cross for our evil sins that killed Him. We killed Jesus, and He saved us. :)
Just please show respect to the visually impaired; that's all I ask. You are apparently in no position to speak with authority, compassion, nor insight on the subject.
So beautiful and so humbling!

@aveyowyns Chrsitian morality? That's a joke.
You don't have a monopoly or ownership on where morals come from. Christian morality says slaves can be owned and women raped if you want to marry them.
jwissick 1 month ago
@jwissick Christianity does not condone slavery nor women being raped. In the Old Testament times, yes, there was slavery amongst the Jews, but it was not slavery as we know it today. The Bible did not condone nor condemn the keeping of slaves, but did set down guidelines for the treatment of slaves. They were to be treated very well and provided for..never to be abused.. and slaves were to be set free in the 7th year, the year of Jubilee..not held onto for life.
wearymom2003 1 month ago
@wearymom2003
The bible absolutely does condone owning slaves! Leviticus 25:44- is quite clear.
It was the exact same kind of slavery. And they were NOT treated well. There is no possible defense for one person owning another under any circumstances.
And the jubilee joke only applied to Hebrew slaves... not the non-hebrew slaves.
jwissick 1 month ago
@jwissick I've heard of people going in debt and declaring bankruptcy, killing small business owners with million dollar or more debts in REAL LIFE examples. Slavery is demonized because it has a bad rep. Perhaps it's demonized in similarity to atheism, which has a bad rep for killing millions and millions and millions through a plethora of dictators...
GeneralZap 1 month ago
@GeneralZap I think slavery is wrong not because of a bad rap but because it strips people of their dignity and agency. I don't think atheism is that bad. I can't think of a valid logical pathway from atheism to destructive dictatorships.

@GeneralZap No. The difference is that one is based in justice (prison) and the other is an injustice. And most prisoners don't work at all and those that do are paid. Slaves are never paid.
And you are a serious moron.
jwissick 4 weeks ago
@jwissick If you utter another unnecessary addendum in a supposedly objective "debate", conversation, et cetera, I may be forced to assume you do indeed suffer from the Dunning–Kruger effect.
The word slave in your mind is simply too narrow minded if you think they are not paid at all. Human sex trafficking is the most popular type of slavery, with "1.39 million victims of commercial sexual servitude worldwide." These persons indeed may get paid some, but that does not change anything.
GeneralZap 4 weeks ago
@jwissick Oh and rofl! "Morality"... Morality is just a dictation of the will of the majority of people really, if there is no God to derive morality from. So let's go burn dem KKK'ers at the stakes for killin dem dar Jewisj friend of ours! YARR! Morality? Rofl. There is no such thing as a reliable morality because history shows it can be "suppressed", destroyed, or warped, en mass.
GeneralZap 1 month ago
@jwissick You need to watch this - /watch?v=JtOI6OKXTlo targets slavery and reads it for you so you can understand it and nto read one sentence and go ah ha!
Also Christians do infact have monopoly over morality. Objective morality can only come from a God, now we can debate which is the correct one, but if there is no God, there is no moral law giver. And everything is subjective.
So indeed, we do actually have monopoly as there can really be no true moral values on atheism.
Stianchez 1 month ago
@Stianchez Really? You have a monopoly on morality? Then why do the other non-christian nations exist for thousands of years? They should have torn themselves apart if YOU have the monopoly on morality.

@jwissick "YOU have the monopoly on morality." If there is a God, then morality is planted in everybodies hearts. He created you and me, and everyone else for that matter.
Note : Such people are also extremely rare.

Meaning it's subjective in its own terms, and extracting the information from it will give different results every single time.
That is refered to as subjective, as they are different, and not objective.

How absurd sir!
wearymom2003 1 month ago
@wearymom2003 I absolutely can't believe you are defending this! Being forced to marry her attacker is the best idea your god who is supposedly omniscient can come up with? I can think of bunch of better ideas.... Like explaining it's not her fault and doesn't subtract anything from her intrinsic worth. This is a commandment from a loving god? Pretty sad excuse for a god.
But no. Your god condemns her to a life with her attacker to be abused over and over behind closed doors.
jwissick 1 month ago
@jwissick I actually agree that any arrangement for a woman to marry her rapist is abhorrent.

@wearymom2003 or in another word using proper "hermeneutics".

@staum607 I am questioning your reading abilities.. What is it about the world "immoral" you don't understand?
jwissick 1 month ago
@jwissick, You hadn't said that in our conversation or in the initial comment of yours I replied to. I just want to be clear that I am correct in applying this statement "rape and slavery are immoral" to being approved by you; dont want to put words in your mouth. -- also are the terms 'immoral' and 'bad' close enough in their definitions for us to use them interchangeably in this discussion?
staum607 1 month ago
@jwissick - No, James, Christian morality says no such thing. It's laughable that you think so.

aveyowyns 1 month ago
@ddrninjette - Actually, such a thing has been not just suggested, but endorsed in all seriousness by people on your side of the argument. In fact, these people think "defective" children can and should be put down up to age 2 (possibly older). Reject God and everything becomes allowable and justifiable and your objections become nothing but hot air.

@JMcH Who thinks we should euthanize children with disabilities? Like seriously. What world are you living on?
ddrninjette 1 month ago
@ddrninjette He lives in his own little world divorced from reality.

@jwissick - That's incredibly and hilariously ironic coming from you, James.

@ddrninjette - I live in the real world where lots of people promote such an idea.

How can you even think such things?
ddrninjette 1 month ago
@ddrninjette - These people advocate the killing of any "defective"/"imperfect" child.

Wait, no, you have it backwards.
The killing of children for "imperfection" is gods law, remember?
Human nature is imperfect...thus god invented death & capital punishment.
Get your fable straight.

And you a seriously intellectually impaired if you really think that is our point of view.

@jwissick - Your point of view is that such disabled children are better off being aborted before birth. Don't try to lie by denying it, James.

Anyway, the kid needs a cooler cane.

truthsourcenet 1 month ago
@ddrninjette How could a person not have tears of joy hear. Even as Todd has here. And trust they are tears of joy, considering I too live in Georgia and know Todd. Besides "pity" is a godly sense is what God the Lord has for us miserable sinners deserving of hell forever when He stepped in the world and took on human flesh and died on a cross for our evil sins that killed Him. We killed Jesus, and He saved us. :)
