Like most bears, Pandas are extremely rugged animals. Consider: they grow-up in environments where falls and slides are a frequent occurance. They have had to adapt to such conditions.

No doubt that some bears have been hurt in falls, but I imagine it requires a substantial plummet before the animal is injured.
