Having attended Le Mans five times, I must say I would go every year if I could. The rare race that plays the national anthem of every driver entered in the event prior to the start of the race. My pal Tony Tobias in UK has attended 40 consecutive years!

Nice video. Interesting - I've been planning to do a Le Mans tribute for a long time and I've had exactly similar idea to combine onboard segmemts from different eras :)
IMO the 24 hours of Le Mans will never hold a candle to the 24 hours of Daytona for one important fact. Drivers at Daytona are constantly in traffic thru-out the entire race, as you have upwards of 80 cars crammed into a 3.56 mile track vs. Le Mans with only 48 cars spread across an 8.5 mile circuit.
God and I am sure its WAY easier to drive in a loop for 24hours instead of having to turn and brake etc, Daytona is the LAZY mans racing, just like many other american things, thats why a ton of us "yep im american and white" are fat and overweight - WAKE UP AMERICA
if traffic is all that interest´s you, then maybe Daytona is a bit better, even if I then would reccomend you the 24 hours of Nürburgring with 220+ cars on a 17 mile course, on a far more demanding circuit, with bigger speed differences of cars.
But in overall importance, nothing beats LeMans, just because of it´s history.
LeMans has always been one of my favorite race tracks in the world aong with the classic F1 circuits at Spa, Monza, and the streets of Monaco as well as the old Beach course at Daytona Beach, Indy and Darlington in the States. I always liked the tradition of the now discontinued "LeMans Start", but before they stopped it because of safety reasons, that was probably the best start to any race world wide. I would love to go see the 24 hours in person someday before I pass away.
Screw the Indianapolis 500. Tell Tony George to go and shove it. I don't care what anyone else says, Le Mans has always been my favorite race and always will be. Sportscar racing and Formula 1 are way better than most of the racing available in the states. Of course we do have ALMS, though.
This is 1 amazin Video i love music wt is it??? and i love the way u go from different years to show how the cars have changed or is tht just me lol???
If I had a choice to drive either a F1 car of any era of a Le Mans Car of any era. I whould choose the Le Mans car

Great scenes of LM racing glory throughout the ages, but whats with the weird lifeless extra-curricular junior rock school music composition?

actually its a road course within the oval, jerk
josephbhoyt 4 years ago 4
totally agree with you. driving with 600 and more hp cars is always difficult..but it's impossible to compare a banal oval with lemans circuit!

franktheboy 4 years ago

Jimmaling 4 years ago
No, you can rock up with you bog standard Honda Civic on the day of the race, and lead the feild into the first corner...
dicktracy34 4 years ago
You need to build a proper car and get a team. Are you down?
