i am a huge fan of your videos, i'm a former div 1 wrestler, blue belt under ruben charles, and practicing mixed martial artist. I'm very interested on hearing your technical opinion on revisions of the guillotine choke.. aka the shinya aoki guillotine( high elbow), knee in guillotine( team alpha male uses often.), and the militech revised guillotine( Jens pulver uses). i have had success with all three. possible video subjects??? :]
@maylay116 this is interesting i have not ever heard of a knee in guillotine.. got a link? / would love to see a video of tons of different variations with the guillotine including the 'McKenzieTine' (got other names..) thats becoming popular as well which is more of a loop choke and therefore a blood choke than a guilo but very similar. none the less would be a great video.
great move...though, one technical problem i see is how you take the back. For example, when you play it in full motion, going towards 3:45min, you tend to post your hand out after releasing the arm drag. Instead, you should try to execute seat belt grip. "Taking the back," the way to show it, is a good example of how easy it looks to shrug off. Marcelo Garcia shows pefect execution of taking the back using seat belt grips in gi and no-gi.
tapped someone to this last night! Thanks for the great vids. By the way, for the guys at techniqueprevails or any other MMA fighter, I injured my knee during grappling. Do you guys have any advice on training that would keep too much rust from forming over the recovery period? I don't want to lose all the skill I learned. Thanks

If you mean the leg that is still between his two legs- then you can wrap that one behind his trapped leg to slow his passing opportunities down a great deal. Be sure to check out the site!
I knew I would have it wrong somehow; I'm never going to satisfy the wrestler's crowd... Thanks for the feedback, however. Please check out our site. We have a lot more content there.
i love the vids. but is there anyway do it from when they have full mount? ive seen this sorda done fom that posistion, but i just need to know if you can
It would be very difficult to use this technique when your opponent is in full mount. However, we have a lot of escapes from the mount available at our site. Check it out!

@wailukustrider22 the back isn't the point of the video, the transition from half guard is

THIS MOVE IS DISGUSTINGLY AWSOME!!!! SICK BRO! I imagine you can do this from full guard also?
EnochMcDonald 2 years ago
You can use the arm-drag from full guard which is similar. But with full guard you don't already have one hook set for when you take the back.

you are too sick my friend!

the switch is used in folkstyle really, not seen much in freestyle. This is actually similar to switch from a cross body ride

I'm gonna pratice it tommorrow.

I like the look of this move. I already do something similar to this but your version looks way better.

dose your other leg prevent him from passing?
could i put the other foot (your right leg) on his hip? like switching to full guard and hit yoyr move?

I'm not sure that the setup would be EXACTLY the same- but I'm sure you could adapt it.
