  • I like the fact that as SOON as you sounded your horn in the truck, the conductor hit the ditch lights. rofl.

  • the horn on the NS train was actually a nathan k5HL

  • sounds like a k5HL to me.

  • That isn't a K5LA on the NS engine, that is a K5HL, it's on every ES44AC, ES44DC, late model AC6600CW and AC5500CW engines.

  • My camera was on a power box next to the tracks.... I was in my vehicle at the crossing.

  • the first one after the number of chimes does. if theres any Hs or Ls after that, that stands for high or low tuning.

  • Nice video I like this one even more than the lats one I commented on :-)

  • theres a reason for it. ill send you a link of a page about the newer horns that explains why they started doing that.

  • yes. the K5HL is the canadian tuned version of the K5LLA just as the K5H is the canadian tuned version of the K5LA. the K5HL is a K5H with the 1L bell in place of the 5 bell, and the K5LLA is a K5LA with, again, the 1L in place of the 5. i dont know yet what the other L bell besides the 1L is that the K5HLL has.

  • thats some shit!!!!!!

  • and also if there is an L after the H or L right after the number, that indicates the use of a 1L bell or some other low tuned bell.

  • I have seen a couple of those in our area (Charleston, SC) lately. I haven't quite gotten my ear tuned yet to tell the difference in sound from the K5H and the K5LA. Is the (L) for the new LL bell? In K5LA obviously it's for the low profile manifold. Anyway I have seen a few K5H's around.

    Thanks for watching!

  • the K5H and K5LA sound totally different actually. the letter immediately after the number of bells stands for the type of manifold the horn is mounted on. H means high profile manifold which stands one or 2 bells above the others and L means low profile all in a row manifold. the A stands for american tuning. in the K series of horns, if it doesnt have an A, it is canadian tuned. to get american tuning, 3a and 4a bells replace the standard 3 and 4 bells.

  • a little close?
