I love this song and the message! This is an old fav of mine from a cassette my son had while I was "Mr. Mom" to my kids back in the early '90s... so sez Reverand Barry Willie Black ... Time is tickin' away!
I was listening to my brother's copy of "Intermission" and was disappointed that they did not have this song! I miss the good old days in youth group where dc Talk and Newsboys were rocking our stereo. Great song!
lol, i remember asking my brother "Why the heck are they singing 'Carman is tickin away'? Are they against Carman? i thought they made music together sometimes.." :D
You know, it's funny when you look at Michael Tate back then, and then take a look at him now. Back then he was this buff, awesome dancing guy with a great voice. Now, he still has a great voice, but as for his physical description...I'd be kind of scared to run into him in a dark alley if you ask me! 0_0
Man this song is by far one of my favorites from the 90s period. I really love the musicality of this song. I love this song sooo much, and the message is great!
Oooo, I LOVED this song when I was a kid. I remember when I was 4 and I would sit in the car with my teenage uncles as they idled in the mall parking lot and played this cassette. X3 Now I sit idling in my own car, blasting it through my iPod. It's still awesome.
@AniRemi I know what you mean! dc Talk was one of the groups my brother and I would listen to as he took me with him in his car and just today I was idling in my car blasting the cd "Intermission".
we danced this lst year in our school.....and lst christmas..we want to see to all people that they should worship GOD like we read to the lyrics of this song time is ticking away mean while we have time we should worship and praise GOD.....time is running...when i first listen this song i felt that its rapture so i should always got o church.....but until now i realize that even we didn't listen some songs we should go to church always.......
Ha! This brings back memories of hitting rewind on the tape player in my little VW, flying up and down the mountain backroads at night on my way home from youth group...taking the long way so I could sing along out loud without anyone hearing. :-) Thanks for posting!
Saw them in concert several times, and people would always say stuff like, "you went to see *who*? Who's that?" Then you'd start playing it and they weren't really sure what to say. "Oh! So they're *CHRISTIAN*? Um, they're like cool, I guess, but like did you know they're *Christians*?" as if I was supposed to slap my forehead and say something like, "Oh you're right. My bad. Didn't know what I was thinking..."
ROTFL Yeah no kidding! I Grew up a Jesus Freak, And I heard every last one of those lines lol.
I Remember Listening to Dc Talk - Spinning Round, And I just Keeped rewinding that tape over and over again till I had the whole Song Memerized! I love there Music.
Oh and Listen to the last bit on this song..
Isnt that Jordy laforge from Star trek TNG?
"Woh Wait a minute" lol I need some confermation there :D
But I have got to Say I loved Newsboys Just as much. "Breath" Spirit thing!
Old school DC Talk in top form. I agree, some of the very best songs fall by the wayside over time and stop being played, but this among many should be reintroduced.
Then again, maybe I'm just being nostalgic. Good times... :)
Thumbs up if you think this would make a great theme song for "In Time" movie with Justin Timberlake.

Haha, word.
I can't believe I missed the era of Christian music being "cool". Even in Churchs they think you're a dork for listening to this type of music.
I remember when I was 8, "Jesus Freak" was just released and my brother used to drive me around with it blaring.
Its a said day when positive music like this, is deemed lame even by Christians.
