  • i know that this is mainly a British hymn, but i am proud to listen to it as an American. Love your country, and it will love you back

  • It is an honour to call myself British.

  • Who ever dislikes this is not only an ass-hole but a traitor and disgrace to the countr themselves and every briton. If you have disliked this then you will be hunted down and killed. Those who have liked it, may you live long.

  • Long live the world's great Empires. They served people like me, good middle men, and brought order and bounty to every corner of the Earth. I would rather live in an unelected British Empire than an elected European Union.

And if that makes me a fascist then Heil bloody Hitler.

  • @MrDailywhigne

not to mention driving countless peoples away from a natural life of sustainability and equality...and essentially brought them extinction. all in due time.

  • My School song has this tune ,Its such a beautiful song

  • Bonn is seeing thru the transparent ploys of Sarkozy with strained differences becoming visible as Germany fights it`s re-liquidation of the Euro as it`s sole responsibility. The fuse that started two W/Wars = France wanting to dominate Europe but having no real Clout or History, and Germany having just enough of both to cause the World infinite & lasting Pain.

It`s only Money & Power, but to a Meglo-European it becomes a question of misplaced Pride & thwarted Ambition.F

  • this is so beautiful song even i'm man and from finland puts tears in eye's because this song give's so thank's to war veterans who fight for freedom and indepence both country Great Britain and Finland war veterans have done great job and never i mean never turn ur back to them they are heroes and need now help for old day's, they have my full respect :)

  • they put lyrics to Jupiter.

    Amazing.

  • To the EU and particularly France, I have one gesture for you. V <---- yep, you know what it is. Think Agincourt, think Churchill, think Britain.

  • I love this song so much...

  • THE ENGLISH WILL NEVER GIVE UP THEIR INDEPENDENCE.....THEIR FREEDOM TO RULE THEMSELVES.....OR OUR CHERISHED AND GOD GIVEN SOVEREIGNTY......FOR A THOUSAND YEARS WE HAVE FOUGHT THE EUROPEAN INVADERS WHO WISH TO SUBJUGATE US.......THE BRITS WILL NEVER BE SLAVES TO ANY NATION.....ESPECIALLY AN UNELECTED EU SUPERSTATE ..YEAH WE HAVE OUR FAULTS LOTS OF THEM.BUT OUR LOVE OF DEMOCRACY IS NOT A FAULT,AND IT WILL NOT BE TAKEN FROM US EVER....

  • @MrBillbonkers Yours is an enlightened view on an historic perspective of where True Britons stand in this final Vanguard.

If an expired Empirical Entity cannot Honour, Respect, & Protect it`s Blessed Spawn of Nations, if a Real Briton cannot Love, Cherish & Guide their Beloved Children to ultimate Greatness.....What have we Achieved ?, What of any Worth will we carry to our Afterlife?...F.

  • @MrBillbonkers Britain is the cradle and fountaninhead of modern civilization, the kinder, more humanitarian extension of the Greek and Roman civilizations into the present. Without her influence and that of her colonies, chaos very easily could be regning at this moment. Blessed be the Commonwealth and God Save the Queen.

  • listening to this on Christmas day

  • It always has to descend into a political argument when a song like this is played. Is a great piece of music so just listen to it. If you have grief with the UK go somewhere else and argue.

  • @RickyVilla31 thats because this song lifts of the spirits of us

  • so proud to be English/British

  • I cant believe this! This was my high skul's hymn or song....sang it on every first and last day of skul in Nairobi! What a history 4 the song...well its understandable the skul was built in 1910 by the British colonial govt!

  • @Lynn24289 but with that lyrics? :O

  • Cameron did the Right things for the Wrong reasons,to save the`City`,a financial authority who have abused our trust & security. We`ll never be Europeans or embrace the doomed Euro,so our comments on it`s future are not relevant.Lets allow Europe to face it`s problems as we address our own. The `City` dont deserve our support, but they have it as our largest `Earner`. The EU seeks to steal our last great strength & profit by it, It`s time HM Govt. told them to `Piss Off` loud & jerkily..F

  • @FrostyA1 You are Europeans, but island europeans, but EU can to hell.

  • @breizhcatalonia1993, IN HINDSIGHT..It would have been advantageous for Europe if it had conceded to the British Isles, joined the Commonwealth, accepted the £ as it`s currency, & the`City` as financial head. Due to the ridiculously over-ambitious aspirations of France it has sunk. No man has yet managed to stake a lasting claim in the Seas that surround Britain & claim her. Our only true allegiance is to our Blood & our History that would be our beloved Commonwealth but never, ever, Europe ..F

  • @FrostyA1 jingoism much?

  • Comment removed

  • @breizhcatalonia1993 I for one will never accepted the title of European. My body, blood and spirit lie with Britannia and Britannia alone.

  • @PureBl00d101 *accept

  • @breizhcatalonia1993 it will be a cold day in hell before i call myself "european" im British, we are a completely different people to the mainlanders

  • @RNmighty1982 it is them who should be bowing before our Queen!

  • @RNmighty1982 How insulting to refer to all the different nationalities on the European mainland as "mainlanders". Every community, every region, every country, every creed make us different. It was jingoism and "splendid [sic.] isolation" that gave us World War I. We cannot ignore our cousins in Europe. I am Scottish, British, Christian and European. We are all different so let us celebrate this. Anyway this hymn is truly about the Kingdom of Heaven and rising above national differences.

  • @davidkinnen It wasnt Britains isolation that lead to WW1 or WW2 it was Germanys inate greed & avaracity seeking to add the Empires of France & Britain to it`s own by total undeclared war. The situation was compounded twice by France & Britains trusting natures & naive unpreparedness.Conversely the only catalyst that saved this World were the inhuman acts of Germany against our Empire & Russia and Japan against America & China forging an Alliance that neither could overcome by evil.F

  • @FrostyA1 WW2 was caused by the treaty of Versaille (dont know if thats correct spelling) the admission fo war guilt and having to pay to rebuild France meant that the Germans were starving, if a party came in and said 'we'll put food on your table, a car on the drive of your house' you would vote them in. The Nazi party did it, Volkswagon was there invention (people transport), had we been fairer to the German people after WW1 WW2 could easily have been avoided...but what is is

  • @1989bak Hitlers excuse for commencing his savage personal rampage through & attempted subjugation of Europe was the Treaty of Versaille, similar to the Kaisers attempt based on a self-fabricated threat to Germany. Looking back the laughable justification of these meglo-maniac Bastards were transparently false. If France sought War Reparations following the devastion & attrocities she sufferred good for her, it remains proven that Germany`s only incentive was pure GREED.F

  • @FrostyA1

yes, greed. the other empires on the other hand were built on pure desire to spread civilisation and to help our fellow man. everything else you've said though is great. i just like to forget our imperial past just as i like to forget the godfather III never happened...

  • @davidkinnen Perhaps best you dont invite or expect Britain to join Europe in an all-embracing manner. Britain has always viewed Europe as a hereditarilly weak, confused, irrational & frequently stupid entity, looking back, historically, over the last 1000 years I find it hard to disagree with our more patriotic Countrymen..F

  • There seems to be some confusion. This song is the anthem adopted by Britains Armed Forces as their own, who can deny them that ?. Nimrod is specifically the anthem of the British Army. Land of Hope & Glory is England`s unofficial Anthem, but God save the Queen is the official anthem of all Loyalist ( Royalist?) Britons, it may not have the musical merit of the aforegoing but in sentiment it possesses all the respect that True Britons hold for their Crown, Monarchy & Fabled Unity...F.

  • Is the full version on youtube? (With the second verse who honor british casualties during WW1)

  • I love Britain...

  • RULE BRITANNIA, Britannia rules the waves, Britons shall never be slaves!

  • this almost sounds like this is off o halo somehow like aaaaaaaahhhaaaa ....... you get my point

  • Jupiter! :)

  • I want this played at my funeral :)

  • not just a song for England but the song of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. God bless this beautiful nation!

  • To be honest, the lyrics could apply to this being a world anthem. Keep the peace ya'll! lol

  • I learned this song in girls latin school in Boston. It was my favorite.

  • In war, there is death

    But from the ashes

    Rises new life

  • YOUR HEART...May Thrill & Rise to the notes of this Majestic tune, Your Soul may Bleed & Bind to the magnificence of these Immortal lyrics. But what can never be ignored is the Love that our Peoples have for this, the Proudest Nation on Earth....F.

  • When you go home

Tell them of us and say

    For your tomorrow

    We gave our today

    RIP one and all

    11-11-11

  • spoit by the singer in the second verse The choir is much more powerful

  • 11/11/11. All gave some, some gave all

  • As it rememberance day tommorow we should think of all the guys who fought and died for Britain

Includeing my Great grandfather Pvt George Albert Pitter of the 4th Battalion The Worchestor regiment

    1917

  • IT IS DOCUMENTED...That many Canadien-Francaise `Men of War` fought the Franco-Spanish `Grand Armee` & Navy alongside British Regulars, there were many American Veteran Volunteers as well. The welding of that fabled force changed the face of this World & lead to the Greatest Democracies of all time, the same Alliance kept this Ideal safe thru WW1 & WW2 & continues in Indomitable Faith to this very Day..F.

  • Had to sing this at my schools rememberence service yesturday. 4 people fainted in about 2 minutes during the hymn -_-

  • If Britain became a secular republic, this would HAVE to be the anthem!

  • Great, now I feel all sad.

Thumbs up if you're going to a Remembrance Service on Sunday!

  • ON THIS MOMENTOUS DAY.......A day when our Nation`s Children still fight hourly to preserve our safety & freedom, isnt it time that we vouchsafed their their right to return to a Land they`ve earned & own? Not to give away wholesale & piecemeal everything they stand&die for. The only souls who belong in this Country by holy right are Britons, her equal Realms of C/Wealth - Aus, Cans, N/Zs, W/Inds,etc. This Land is not to be shared, wasted & carved up by Worthless,Scrounging, Foreigners....F.

  • @FrostyA1 if it wasn't for the Indian and Gurkha regiments in ww2 there would be no "safety" as you call it. thousands of Indian soldiers gave up their lives so that YOU have a free land..

  • @MCcurryBeast very true !

  • I listen to this song every Remembrance Day in Canada, both my parents served in the Canadian Military, and I couldn't be prouder of my great country's history and accomplishments. This song's lyrics are attributable to every nation in the Commonwealth, we owe a lot of our history and our future to what the British Empire gave us. God Bless all of our Armed Forces

  • @CP47 AS BRITAIN FOUGHT...In every War leading to Canada`s Nationhood, so Canada fought in every British war to keep her Free, from the Armies of Wellington & Navys of Nelson, giving more than ever asked or expected. Britain is grateful & humbled by the `Red Maple`s` sacrifice, loved by every Monarch & her Peoples from Victoria to this day. It isnt a coincidence that Canada & Scotland share the same esteem within this Ancient Union, they have the same Courage, Dedication & Loyalty of Spirit.F

  • for all HM armed forces you make us proud!

  • This song kinda reminds me of the theme from "Conan the barbarian" from 1982... Perhaps Basil Poledouris (the composer of the movie soundtrack) took some inspiration from this song =P

  • As a musician, I always wondered what the tune in the middle of "Jupiter" from Holst's , "The Planets"...One very beautiful piece of music.

  • Was always wondering what this beautiful song was thanks for posting.

  • The country that spread across 3/4 of the world the biggest empire in history, the one and only example of working dictorship, free of scum and full of respectable country men, where a man from yorkshire could talk politely to a scotsman, the days of old were the best. God bless the holy land of England and Britain, purge the unclean, how could this beautiful country go to waste!

  • I find it sad and pathetic when I read dumbass arguments about what country or such is better. There is no such thing as a perfect country, with a perfect history, there is no such thing as utopia. Every single country on this planet has had problems, currently has problems, and always will have problems, but the whole point of being proud of a country is looking at what it STRIVES to be, the message it tries to say. If you're really going to argue about what country is better: LEARN REALITY.

  • @FrostyA1 I was counter-trolling, but you're too lame to get it. And that made no sense, due to the Mutated Genetalia Clause of the Tits-for-Splits amendment.

  • whenever i listen to this i cry because it was the funeral music for my Grampie :'( xxx

  • IF AMERICA, Values True Friends she must honour them...Britain,Canada, Aus,N/Zealand etc. not sell them short with `sub-prime` scams etc. In the eyes of the World they`re are two USAs i.e. previous to 1950 as men of Integity & vision, since, a `bunch of bandits on the grab`. Britain is no better, deserting it`s Family, the Commonwealth, in favour of a bunch of Foreigners across the Channel for a quick profit. Neither have the respect they once commanded, & it`s easy to understand why..F

  • @FrostyA1 trolololololol my country got independence in 1776. Poop. Swag. Poop. And decisive, in English, doesn't mean 40+ years of assholes. Poop. We only had 8, with President Bush. Poop. Lesser nations are in the southern part of Africa, and N. Korea. Poop. Congrats on being better than a bunch of HIV/AIDS victims, warlords, and brainwashed people. Poop. Its like being the smartest kid with downs syndrome. Poop. And the Declaration of Penis makes your arguement invalid. Good day. Trollin'!!!

  • @cfhartin Looks like you`re still King of the Poop,Pal!.... so Poop On, Note Bene = `argument` drops the `e` in `argue` as irrelevant, much like you. The US has far more than 8 Arseholes, (incorrect spelling `Assholes` projects lack of acceptable grammatical English )) , you & J.Wanker Hoover total at least 10+...F

  • @FrostyA1 if it weren't for the U.S. and the U.N., your little country would still have that asshole giving orders. We should've stepped in during the '80s. So tits or gtfo.

  • @cfhartin You`re Pitiful, This little Land has achieved many miracles, Libya is just one more, your jealousy at swift & decisive result is the typical view of a lesser Nation unable to achieve a similar conclusion. It was the SBS who destroyed Ghaddafi`s anti-rev. patrols prior to air-lifts, it was the SAS who ferried them out after laying a back-up by sea. It was both S/Fors who sabotaged Installations & `Comm-Satted` air-strikes into N/Libya, so Pop off for a crap,You`re full of it! F.

  • @FrostyA1 Little in area friend but the BIGGEST, the GREATEST in virtually in all other aspects.

  • East Coast American chiming in.

Beautiful piece. I love the UK on the surface, but your nation is not democratic. Dukes and Duchesses? Come on. The UK's social culture is arcane. Such a beautiful land with an ugly face. If you are not English, you will make no friends in the UK. Fact. Ireland? Yes. London is a great city to visit, but it's no place to live.

  • @strela I beg to disagree. I think London is one of the most welcoming cities I have ever known. In respects to accessibility and being welcomed, I think it has the same (if not better) attributes as New York. London, much like many capitals, is not perhaps a particularly great place to live, as essentially the London that tourists will see is pretty much just the CBD of the city. However, it is possibly the most multicultural city within England. We're actually a rather nice bunch!

  • @strela Also an american, and clearly you've never visited. I have plenty of friends in the UK and I hardly had to try to make them.

Maybe one day the world can just live as one, we're not quite there but it's possible

  • @strela

Being British is a state of mind, body and soul....

  • FOR THE LOVE OF ALLAH, When will the self-righteous West learn that they have no right or mandate to interfere in the internal matters of another Sovereign Nation,I refer to the details of the death of Mahmoud Gaddafi. It is not for us to demand explanation & examination of the body to satisfy the notions of Nato, UN, ICC etc. It remains only the business of Libya to settle internally any questions concerning their liquidation of a corrupt murderous Bastard & we should stay the hell out!..F

  • @FrostyA1 If NATO hadn't helped you out, Gaddafi would have crushed your revolution like an ant.

  • @Dendiol Your grasp of reality is shite, Britain & Canada flew from Cyprus & Italy, the French from Italy & S/France, the only help lent by UNO & NATO was the imposition of the 1973 mandate to legalise their action plus superb back-up commitment of the USA. No-one, repeat No-one else figured in this Liberalising Campaign from the day that 8x Squadrons of British SpecFors (SBS/SAS) landed east of Benghazi to evac foreign nationals, contact NTC & FAC the Brit/Frog air-power, Boil your Head..F

  • @FrostyA1 Oh do calm down. If NATO and Britain offend you so much, don't comment on a British anthem. You look like a fool.

  • You are UKish not British

  • I'm not even british, but everytime when I hear this song, I just tingle with sadness.

  • @pearlycheung This song isn't specifically about the UK. Any country can sing this song and feel great emotion.

  • Comment removed

  • Sending great respect from across the pond.

  • THIS should be the English national anthem, not God Save the Queen haha

  • @mcgrubber It has been said That God save is a relatively shit choice of song.

  • @mcgrubber fuck just the english... British.. you can get stuck with god save the queen

  • @MarkOfTzeentch Fuck you ya prick

  • @UMakeMeeSick No fuck you you racist git... its not just england that is stuck with that shitty anthem when it comes to world events... hence why i said you can keep it and ALL of britain gets this song on the world stage...

  • @MarkOfTzeentch How am I racist? fucking retard

  • @UMakeMeeSick because you said only england should get this as their countries anthem, and as i said... there is more than one nation in Britain... hence the cry of racism... and im not a retard.... if i was, I wouldn't be squashing your pathetic retorts

  • @MarkOfTzeentch Scotland Wales and northern Ireland have their own national anthems, so does England but ENGLANDS is god save the queen, which is a shitty anthem, so thats why it should be englands

  • @UMakeMeeSick Actually England doesn't have an official one, god save the queen is the British anthem.

  • @TheDavynator0 Land of Hope and Glory is England's anthem.

  • @HowDoYouWin99 Unofficially.

  • @mcgrubber God Save The Queen isn't the English national anthem. Land of Hope and Glory is.

  • England Scotland Wales Northern Ireland = Stronger together! For centuries we have proven that we stood strong in the face of our enemies :) The real enemy today are the ones wanting to separate us from our beloved Union. Be Brave and Virtue of Unity for many years to come.

  • In 300, Leonidas shouts with anger, vengeance, and pride,"THIS IS SPARTA," and everyone loves it. Now, if i shout "THIS IS ENGLAND" people give me strange looks... me confuddled :S

  • @WhitehornMichael because of the film xD

  • I feel happy for people who can be proud of their own nation. They are lucky. But for many other people around the world, there is no such thing as national proud. They may be trapped in poverty, devastated by civil war, or have a bad government. Many people in the world just simply can not look up to their own country and feel proud! So when you listen to this song and feel proud for England or of your own country, you know you're the lucky one. God bless the world

  • @dontumesswifdacmk

I'm not interested in blessing the world sunshine! As several puners have said on here, the British should stop interering. Well I totally agree. Let these aliens wallow in their own shit because I don't want to wallow in it.

  • Let us allways be 4/5 separate nations, built on passionate respect and rivalry with a flexible line of natural respect that is often leant on yet never broken or crossed, and once every 4 years the British and Irish Lions come together, roar and make it 5 countries, Pray God for England, Harry and St George!

  • i officially love blake!!

  • i just sang this with THEM at a concert!!! :D ha that was fun :p

  • I just sang this at my Choir concert! :D

  • Holden Monaro is better than a Jaguar

  • It's somewhat humbling to me to read all these thoughtful, political, ideological comments on this hymn when I all I really want to say is "What a pretty melody!"

  • Also, these BNP supporters coming on here and just acting like they're the voice of Britain disgusts me. You're the ones who give us a bad name. If you had your chance in power, you would silence everyone who wouldn't share your opinion.

Both of my grandfathers fought against people with the same kind of idea as you lot during the Second World War. Good thing the British people are smarter than you think they are, they would never vote in a party as disgusting and single-issued as yours.

  • I wish this was our national anthem. I just... don't feel good when we have "God Save The Queen/King" as our anthem... it doesn't feel right, it makes me feel like I'm just some little subordinate/servant. This one is more to do with the country itself rather than just a figure-head monarch and also ties in with remembrance day. Also, the lyrics and tune just sound so much better.

But, sadly, this ain't gonna happen, the same way the Liberal Democrats aren't ever going to be in power.

  • @JinRenegade God Save the Queen!

  • should be out national anthem

  • So fellow Brits, love it as much as I do? Let's enjoy the UK as one country as opposed to four separate entities. Let's be friends, and let us be one united kingdom. Let's treat each other with respect and our kingdom may be kept, I fear our future. Let's remain British, Long live the UK!

  • @sandermacleod Yes, let us be friends and treat each other with respect. But why not do so in our own independent countries? The UK does not allow us to exist as fully formed nations - quite far from it - and that is why it's time to put it to bed. The UK cannot be enjoyed as one country because it is not one country. It has had its day - let us now go forward as authentic nation states rather than an empire state that has lost any reason to exist other than a vague sense of nostalgia.

  • @robicenco1 Although I may not fully agree with you on that point, I fully respect your point of view. I don't think we should look back through the eyes of Empire, but I think we've got a progressive, fair and forward thinking country today, and I personally think we are better off as a United Kingdom. However, that is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

  • @sandermacleod

Ask any midwive they'll tell you the majojority of children now born in britain are born to one or more foreign parents, sadly we are a dying race my friend.

  • @mattymatt1987 So true :( Terrible.

  • @mattymatt1987 We're not a race, we're a nation and there is a massive difference, sir.

  • @mattymatt1987 I think in the UK we have always been a people born of different 'ethnic' origins, Angles, Saxons, Celts, Vikings, Romans etc. What is great about the UK is that we at least share common values for the most part and that this has made us united. I would welcome anyone to the UK so long as they respect our traditions and way of life. We too learn a lot from other cultures, and I think that is a healthy way for people to develop. This is just my opinion however.

  • @sandermacleod Agreed, I think anthems like this really symbolise the co-operation between the different UK nations in the face of adversity. Personally I think that most people consider the banter between the English, Welsh, Scottish and to a lesser extent Irish is supposed to be banter. I consider any Scot, Welshman or Northern Irishman a fellow countryman who I would gladly help and defend;

  • @WickyWiggstaz Well said my friend!

  • Let`s Tidy our Political Fairness...Disband Westminster, move National Parliament to Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast & Birmingham on a cyclical 5 year basis, hopefully the fiddling criminality of late government would not follow. There would be no `2nd Home` allowances for MPs,just a permanent overnight booking for B&B @ Travelodge, then lunch @ a `Subway`(it`s healthy!), & Dinner @ Pizza Hut. Travel would only be allowed by National Coach. No Tarts,Rent-boys or DVD Porn on expenses...F

  • What Price......Alex Salmond`s SNP move to complete Independance now? Where is he to lead his Country?....Into the grotesquely failed EU to join the terminally bankrupt euro, like faltering & flat-broke Eire? Or to row his Heritage & People across the Atlantic and plead for it to become the 52nd American State and embrace the Destitute Dollar. The man is a political & fiscal idiot not worthy of the faith & trust that Proud Scotia has bestowed blindly upon him ...F

  • I have listened to this hallowed Anthem sung in all four British tongues...

This can never be solely for England, it is shared and respected by all four Great Nations, to relegate it to just one would betray three & reduce that one to a moral parasite....F

  • Nothing Matters.......On this momentous eve,but the cruel jeopardy faced by four of our bretheren trapped 300feet below ground under the Gleison Colliery,Cilybebyll.

May God speed their rescue & return them whole to their desolate Families..F

  • @FrostyA1 amen to that frosty

  • After fighting in the Falklands I find myself bored shitless.

  • as a welshman and a brit im proud

  • @JonWhatsHisName As an Englishman of Scots descent , I am more than proud of You....F

  • What a fantasic nation anthem this would make.

  • I vow to thee, my bank.

  • Comment removed

  • *sniff*

  • 落ち込んだときは、この曲。やる気が出てくる。

  • This would make the best national anthem for England..

  • @thehellodaisy I'd have to second that. Speaking as a Welshman, we have Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Land of My Fathers) as ours, Scotland have The Flower of Scotland as theirs, so what's wrong with England having this as theirs? It's all well and good having God Save The Queen, but that's the communalist anthem of Great Britain. So yes, I would have to support England in having their own.

  • @RevMalcolmWilliams Isn't Swing Low, Sweet Chariot the English national anthem??? I'm a Welsh girl nd I have always thought that :/

  • @blackassassin2k7 You watch too many English Rugby matches and not enough Welsh matches, Cariad LOL

  • @RevMalcolmWilliams lol I always watch the Wales vs English matches so you always hear Swing Low lol, prefer our anthem the best tho :) Mae hen gwlad is amazing

  • Look at Iraq British soldiers what there up to.There are some things i love about blighty but its lost its way .

  • @joebstarsurfer I saw that on the news. What a joke lol. They are now trying to ban 'shouting' at insurgents. Soon we will have to give them cups of tea and bubble baths lolz. In fact, the UK is crippled with political correctness these days. We can't even deport convicted terrorists for fear of breaking their 'human rights'. When you are in a war there's always going to be controversial things which happen but I would bet my house that British troops are more humane than most on this earth :)

  • @TheARMAProductions So true, all this palava about human rights and political correctness has gone to far, its getting ridiculus

  • @blackassassin2k7 In fact, it's even worse than that my friend. PC is literally killing our civilisation as we know it. This started to get steadily worse during the 80's. PC started so as to protect the minorities from being offended but it's allot more deeper now. PC has spread to all corners of our society such as the educational system, media, politicians etc. Countries like India and China are not hampered by this which is why they are getting so powerfull. PC = restraint.

  • @TheARMAProductions I just watched songs of praise "world in union" I have replied to someone who said they sang it at school (more recently). I am frankly not suprised, replacing a patriotic hymn with a rugby song's lyrics, it is a perfect example of the decline.

  • @MyKingdom13 Yeah it's a similiar situaton all over the West. Look into this deeply and you'll find out what the agenda seems to be mate. The agenda seems to be one of killing off nationalism/patriotism in order to centralise power. This is global in scope and covers eveything from immigration to economis to demographics.

  • @TheARMAProductions yes I am fully aware of the conspiracy but I am now having doubts, you cant kill a nation's pride - you tube illustrates that. The eurozone collapsing isnt part of the idea and if we are supposedly waiting for the right time to join the euro, rates today would suggest it should be right now and that's not going to happen in view of the problems. Anyway point taken.

  • robith the shop the corner and burnith down buck palace and replacith the Germans with some brits. The upper classes havent fought a war in years. The Russians won the other won .

  • SPJ1993343 is so right. USA had such men as well in Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Thomas Paine. What happened to us?? Maybe the UK had it right all along.

  • This is such a gorgeous melody and song. I respect the British very much. Speaking as an American of British extraction Lilli Buck Virginia

  • I did comment. As a comment of the UK it used the combined strengths of Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland! Believe it or not, we used the ways of the UK!! Thank you my British brothers/sisters! We are united!

  • so lets smash this islamic plague that blights our green and pleasant land.

    NFSE!!

  • Faith, Hope and Love, that's all about it for England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland UK..... and the whole world.

  • I'm not sure I understand national pride. I was born in England, but why should I feel proud of this accident of birth? Should I be proud of the date I was born on too?

  • @ColinFreakwave Same thing as supporting a football team, its just backing someone. Bit pointless really

  • @ColinFreakwave You should be proud of the things that the country you were born in stand for, for its countryside, its people and its values. For its history. For its culture. And you should do so because while your birth here may or may not have been an accident (depending on your personal outlook on life), your upbringing and way of life isn't. It was your country that educated you, looked after you when you were ill, protected you from a state of anarchy. THAT is why. Have some gratitude

  • @ColinFreakwave Well, most people celebrate their birthday. And anyway I think it is about being proud of your cultural and genetic heritage, which has very little point unless you live up to it yourself, but still... The British are lucky to have something to be proud of. I can't say I'm proud of being Swedish, but then Sweden is a rubbish country.

  • @ColinFreakwave Although your geographic location is an accident of birth, a country is more than just a collection of people in a particular place. It entails society, culture and ethics and all the external aspects that define your personality. If there are parts of your personality you like (for instance the very admirable quality of questioning what to celebrate) then, in part, you have your country to thank for that and as you take pride in yourself, you should take pride in your heritage

  • @egmiddleton Hmmmmm, thoughtfully put. I think I am being persuaded. Perhaps I am just nervous of the idea that "patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel" (apologies for uncredited and probably inaccurate quote).

  • @ColinFreakwave In British politics at least patriotism is the last refuge of the desperate, when a government is so unpopular that nothing else it promises would be believed. However a normal patriotic person is definitely a benefit to the country (wanting to put something in) and therefore a benefit to everyone in it. Jingoism and aggressive nationalism, with its connotations of hating and doing down other nations, is very different to just a wish to do the best for your own country.

  • i am proud to be brithish but not of what briton has become

  • I am English and proud of it. This song reflects my feelings.

I expect people from Scotland to be proud of being Scottish, and the Welsh to be proud of being Welsh, and people from Pakistan to be proud of being Pakistani, etc.

Please don't call me racist just because I am proud to be English.

  • @The20cman You are not racist at all, that is a beautiful statement. I am proud to be American, even if I do not like every single thing we do, as everyone should find something about their country to love.

  • i was born and raised in England, years ago i would of die for my country however i am saddened to see whats happening to it. we have corrupt politicians. Imigrants that come here to such dry our goodwill and take every penny they can from out welfar
