Beautiful specimens- reddish color indicates a high level of hemoglobin in the blood. Very healthy vernal animals. Looks like you nabbed a few copepods in that sample as well. Nice upload!
That would make sense, but I've never seen any evidence that they do. I've only seen chorus frogs eating bugs and other invertebrates on land, but never underwater.
@thatfishbreeder I live in midwestern US, so these particular species of fairy shrimp are fairly common and not protected (although I don't harvest them - just borrow a few for educational purposes and them put them back :)

You are very lucky you are allowed the oppurtonity to be able to harvest fairy shrimp within your area.
BTW Where do you live??? I would like to do this but I live In California
