Can anyone tell me when this meeting was held and what it was for? I have only just seen it and would love to get a hold of the full meeting if possible to show in a Relief Society lesson on motherhood/parenthood which is coming up in a month or so. Many thanks for your help in advance!
I am not able to have children unfortunately, but I am my mother's full time carer after she had a stroke and is in kidney failure... I find myself that I am the "Mother" now and have learned to appreciate everything that she did for me when I was younger. Nick's mom... my mom keeps telling me that I am a gift from God and even though I will never have that gift, I can give that gift to my mom who is now in need.
Thank you so much for validating what I already know to be true about the awesome and truly valuable job of "Mother". As challenging as the position can be sometimes, I too believe that my children are gifts from God, and feel truly blessed to have them, and I could never imagine my life without them.
Thank you for continuing to be such positive role models.
We get to hear about the Osmonds Brothers but I can see thye are backed up by wonderful women. Bravo, Suzanne. I am a full time Mum and some days I feel like a second rate citizen. But you are right..it is worth it. And Alan, it is lovely to hear you acknowledge your love for Suzanne and her role as Mum and Wife. God Bless you both.
Wow-wow-wow - thanks Alan - just when I was really doubting myself as a Mother - this was just what I needed today. This has given me a "shot in the arm" and made me realize how much my daughters depend on me to lead them in the right direction. Thankfully my mother raised me to be a strong, caring, Christian woman and I have passed that on to my daughters. If only more folks listened to what you and Suzanne have said - more importantly though....to what you have done. Thank you.
I wish all men and women before they enter into marriage and parenthood could hear this. It is easy to see why Alan and Suzanne's children have turned out so well. Alan has been a blessing in my life.
I can see your point and appreciate your feelings. I too, am not married and have not had children, but you know what, I am a "parent" of sorts to my nieces and nephews and to my friends kids and even to the children I associate with at church because I love and respect them and their parents. You don't have to have given birth to a child to make a difference in the lives of everyone, young or old, that you come in contact with. That's how I know I am important.
Very good and timely advice for all of us. Even those who are not mothers or fathers, influence young people every day with the words you say, the actions you take, the way you treat others, and how much you show you care...
One of my favorite videos! Thank you, Alan and Suzanne, for sharing this with us. Love you both! :-)

Nice message, but please don't forget that not everyone has been blessed with children. Not everyone can be a parent and we are just as important.
