Every aspect of this performance from atmospheric background setting,to pure and unadulterated, straightforward guitar instrumental to sterling and crisp vocalizing, made for a most exquisite example of a bluesy interpretation of this beloved Weavers classic. Thank you for inviting me to this musical banquet in celebration of your impeccable talent.
Hello Travis, I found your video today when a friend sent me the song by Jimmie Rodgers. Just wanted to tell you how beautifully you performed the song. I wrote back to my friend with your version going in the background and the warmth of your voice along with your delicate guitar strumming took me off guard a couple of times. Keep playing and singing. You are wonderful to listen to.
@MOLLYryaiMOON Thanks you so much for your kind, kind words! I`m pleased you enjoyed my performance of this song. This is one of my better covers if I do say so myself and I`m glad it has brought enjoyment to someone else. All the best from Nova Scotia!
It was very easy listening version of the song. Most recorded (pre-YouTube) were duets or groups, but a few were male solos. Think you did a very good job on the song, enjoyed your guitar playing, the voice was good. No matter what, maybe I'm old school, but this song resonates with me for its approach to the start and finish of love and life, the highs and lows of marriage, kids, and getting older. Looking back and saying you'd do it all again, how many could/would do that today? Bravo!!
Thanks very much for tuning in and having a listen! I love this song as well, I'm still too young for most of these things to have happened to me (yet!) but it touches home for me as well because of the great story telling
Believe it or not this was a room in my loft apartment :P But, I have since moved and have a different music zone so keep an eye peeled for new videos and new scenery!
You can tell you were having trouble with your throat.
But I love this song, and you perform it so well :) Thanks for posting.

Hey great video.
I like the song a lot and have never thought to learn it. Funny how those things work like that.
I loved that you did the video in your pantry.
thanks for posting it.
