I know this sounds odd, but there's a wholesome kinda "Weird Al" charm to Steel Panther yet at the same time they're vulgar and offensive, which I think is great. They also obviously know metal and hard rock VERY well, and are incredibly talented musicians.

They're kinda like the "3 inches of Blood" of hair metal. They aren't a full-on PARODY of metal, but they definitely find humor through its conventions, but in a loving way. Metal is both awesome and ridiculous, and that's why I love it.

And certainly SP lyrics are all about that, but at an even "deeper" level if I can go that far referring to a band such as SP, the music it's self has an uplifting vibe. It makes a positive connection to the spiritual phunny bone. It makes me just feel good. I don't smoke pot, and I don't get uptight about those who do. I don't snort drugs, and I don't pop pills except a low dose aspirin in the morning and ibuprophin in the evening for my arthritis.
