  • Everyone that is for ATA, I bow in courtesy to you for being mature! ATA!!!!!!!

  • Smk85 your absolutely right. I'm a yellow belt at Coffrin's ATA. ATA I love it! It's the best schools ive ever been too!

  • most people think martial arts is easy and people say they can beat a black belt even when they have no idea how to fight at all and some people just can't do it. It takes work and practice lots and lots of practice and theres a reason why. when u r a black belt u r a symbol of what u can do most importantly u r a hero to some people u can save that one kid getting beaten or the one who needs a person to trust, i have a saying ether u die a hero or live long enough to see the world burn in pain

  • it made me strong inside and out but most of all it healed me I used to be beaten, broken by the bullies and kids of my school They would crash my dreams and hurt me with their words until i was crying my eyes out i was alone..scared. i felt as i could do nothing to save myself when i became older i knew the true meaning of taekwondo now when teens try to make me fall i have the strength to go up and stand up for myself and say i don't care and if i do fall i will stand bak up and keep going.

  • It's odd how the ATA is apparently so bad, but yet we in the ATA don't continuously bash, attack, and disrespect other forms of martial arts and associations, while other are constantly speaking highly negatively and disrespectfully about the ATA. I suppose other martial arts organizations leave out the "Respect" and "Honor" parts when it come to their teaching. Its not the toughest organization out their, but I'm PROUD to be a part of a honorable and respectful organization.

  • @smk85 Because compared to the ATA, the ITF, the WTF (kinda), and other Martial art associations have little dirt.

  • I've been with ATA my whole life, and it's great. Some people talk shit on how it's easy to get a black belt, but whatever. I've always stuck to the belief that black belt doesn't even mean skill level. I have had my 3rd degree black belt for a few years now, and I can tell you I didn't get it merely as a handout as so many people think ATA does. I had to work my ass off for many years to get that, and getting to that rank was one of my biggest accomplishments in life.

  • nobody should fuck with ATA. i am a brown belt deiced and ready to kick someones ass if they wanna mess with ATA.

  • @Wolverineboy229 oh and by the way this is an old video. Soon Ho Lee has past on his life of leadership to In Ho Lee.

  • I went to ATA when I was younger, i joined when i was 9 and at first it was really fun.but by the time I was 11, the teacher and the kids there treated me really bad i didnt know why. the teacher would always pull me out of class to lecture me when i didnt do anything wrong. then she would tell my grandparents that i had issues. that place really sucked. i finally told them i wasnt coming anymore. i quit 2 weeks before testing for my black belt, and i was so much happier after quitting. fuck ATA

  • I have been with the ATA for four years and I just took my second midtirm for my 2nd degree black-belt. I was a jurk before I joined the ATA and nobody wanted to be around me (rightfully so). The ATA helped me get my act togeather and I will never leave. I'm with the ATA for life.

  • @Snake70186 Four years and already going for a second degree?

  • @Sevv9220 still got several months to go but yes.

  • @jaiie,,,,i bet a 4 yr.old (( CAMO belt))) girl could analy invade you with a round house!

  • If you want to learn Taekwondo screw the ATA's B.S. songahn form, and learn Chung Do Kwan! Korea does not even recognize Songahn as a true form.

  • i love ata its awesome

  • i love ata im awesome

  • I do ATA too

  • you should stop mocking ATA its the best tae kwon do in all of america and if you think that the ATA is stupid then shame on you

  • The ATA is a complete joke, they have a 'Camo' belt ffs

  • @jaiie your a dumb ass hole, you let a color of a belt change the way you think of the biggest martial arts company in the world, now thats immature

  • I am a part of ATA , and i am on orange belt 3 stripes , and my master is Master HOCKMAN

  • The ATA is worse than Scientology.

  • @ssilz I like how you do this on youtube, would you like to say it at an ATA school? No? I didn't think so

  • RIP Mr. H U Lee.

  • @SuperBluepurple I am a 1st degree and if you think that you can prove it come to my school and say that to Senior Master Raimondi and see if you can still say that stuff but come in to a class and see what is really about

  • go hu LEE! ILL BE AT WORLDS! THIS 20-26TH!:D

  • Can some one tell me rationally what an "Eternal Grand Master" is? I've been honored to have known many 7th, a score of 8th, and a select few, 9th Kukkiwon dan holders. But what is with the title inflation of recent years? Even a respectful person with an open mind would smell "CULT" in the title "Eternal." In any Yellow Pages one may find a plethora of "Masters," "GMs," "Supreme GMs," "Imperial GMs" and other un-humble, grandiose titles. "Eternal GM," please? Master, like PhD, says enough.

  • @ssilz lmao amen. ata passin out the black belt kool aid. take a sip and you get a black belt. chug the whole thing and you get another dan

  • @Bluerocka145 lol

  • @Bluerocka145 Maybe that YOUR idea of how to get a Black Belt. and it sounds like you've been practicing But, Even thought I am not a current student of the ATA, I can testify Grand Master H.U.Lee's style of TAEKWONDO has produced some of the Best TKD Black Belts in the world. This compliment comes from me a MOO DUK Kwan Black Belt! Rock On ATA.

  • CAPWEY is a troll.

I was honored to be a part of ATA! 3rd degree Black Belt for life!

  • @CAPWEY you will fail but at least you will have put your money where your mouth is. Have a nice life, I know I am.

  • @CAPWEY You have such courage coming out and telling us ATA members who we really are, I have never been so blinded by the ways that the ATA has impacted me, I only wish that that I met you in person before I got my 2nd degree black belt and I would have saved so much of my time and money, where would I be without you?

Maybe by the time you get to this point, you will see the sarcasm. I would like to see that fight between you and an instructor.

  • @dethmetalhed your 9th degree 29yr old instructor?

  • a 5th degree black is a no belt!

  • Check out how good my master was in 2005-2006 and he is the one in 1st place The link didn't work so 1.Go to the ATA website 2.Go to tournament standings 3.Click on previous champs in the states 4.Click on 2005-2006 chapion final rankings then click on Arizona 5.Then click on Men's 1st degree age 17-29 and you will see him

  • Clowns is right....... Seeing this trash does make me want to go in the local ATA McDojo down the street and beat the crap out of the so-called master. I'd love to do it right in front of his class. I'm not the kind of guy to do that sort of thing, or condone it. but still it makes you really want to. Problem is I'd get arrested. Not only that it probably would only make me feel good.

  • It is so sad to see these people on the street and know that they don't have a clue. The ATA should be banned from the U.S.A. For those that don't believe that the ATA is bogus, I say this..... Why is it that even the Koreans on Korea don't recognize ATA black belts as being legitimate? Surely it is not because they are intimidated by them.

  • but I seriously doubt that it will ever happen. It boils down to the fact that the average person can't tell good martial arts from bad. And when someone new to the martial arts joins the ATA, they are brainwashed by them. They spend all their time there, never getting the chance to train in a school that teaches real martial arts. How sad it is for those of us that know better to see people waste their time and money on this.

  • @CAPWEY Tell me, oh great knowledge beholder, who the fuck are you to say what is classified as "good" and "bad" martial arts? Does the ATA teach the fundemental concepts of respect, dignity, humility, honor, and discipline? It does, you ignorant prick, so before you start bashing on an artform, do a bit of research and try, within your profoundly small degree of intelligence, to utilize these characteristics rather making yourself look like the completely ass you are coming off as.

  • @TheCheckers9444 Interesting how one who has learned "respect, dignity, humility, honor, and discipline" responds to criticism with such vulgarity. Did you learn such style from your "Eternal Grand Master?"

  • @CAPWEY Intimidation is not what the ATA teaches a student, though you seem to hold such an aspect in high degree as if making up for some other lacking ability. These "real" martial arts you speak of are on no higher or lesser level of importance to the practioner of such than other forms of fighting and defense.

  • @CAPWEY Also, I would wish to take notice to the fact that you deem so many as the "average person" who is completely oblivious as to what is a rightful form of physical and mental fitness. I apologize for those not on your level, oh wise one, As for you wanting to "beat the crap out of the so-called master", I'd absolutely love to see you try. Thankfully he has more honor and dignity than you could ever hope to achieve, and would spare someone so imbecilic rather than portraying them as the

  • @CAPWEY barbaric fool they are. Count yourself lucky.

  • Those of you that know me, know that I don't recommend styles. I rarely ever speak negatively about other schools, styles, or individuals. But there has to be a point of accountability. By that I mean that we who are the seniors in the martial arts and know the good from the trash, need to speak out. Otherwise even more people will fall victim to this kind of trash. If I eve see even one ATA student or instructor worth his or her rank, I'd be wiling to acknowledge it.

  • they are. Heck even old guys like me in my mid 50's would make them all look like fools. If they ever had the chance to train, spar, or do kata with anyone from any half decent martial arts school, they would never go back to that trash.

  • This kind of farce is exactly why many people think that the martial arts are a joke. I can't even begin to say how sick this kind of junk is. It makes me sick. What makes me even more upset is that the people testing paid a large testing fee. They really believe that they are black belts. The ATA is smart in that they don't allow anyone that is not an ATA member to interact with their classes or events. They know that if they did they would be embarrasses and exposed for the frauds!

  • Wow, I got the goosebumps... (in a good way)... =)

  • ata is full of shit

  • my instructers brother is next inline for grandmaster :D and hes the one on the left at 1:15

  • Hey go google Anthony Pettis.. Hes a 3rd degree ATA Black belt. His "Showtime" kick on Ben Henderson was an ATA move

  • The ATA is the most successful international Martial Arts education system within the World. Thanks to H.U. Lee's vision anyone can become a master.

  • "eternal grand master"? REALLY?

  • @tkddiuryl Yes, REALLY.

  • @cvilleTKD

How about "Intergalactic, eternal grand master"? lol.

  • @tkddiurylThe only one "laughing out loud" is you. Your screen name suggest you do TKD, but you have failed to learn the humility and respect that comes with it. The title "eternal grand master" is there so that no one forgets what H.U. Lee did for taekwondo and for the world. The goals he had and accomplished are more than most people will dream of. Because of H.U. Lee's vision, the ATA is the world's largest martial arts organization, creating tomorrow's leaders one black belt at a time.

  • @cvilleTKD

Forgive me, perhaps I did forget how to be humble, I just find it strange that a martial arts master would refer to himself as "eternal". But I am interested to know what H.U Lee did for Taekwondo in general? I'm pretty familiar with the history of TKD in Korea and how it spread across the world, but I'm afraid I am ignorant when it comes to what the "Eternal Grand Master" has done, even more for the world............Please educate me.

  • @cvilleTKD

Also, from what I understand, the Kukkiwon and World Taekwondo Federation Taekwondo is the largest TKD organisation by far, followed by the International Taekwondo Federation. The ATA only mainly operates within American borders, if it's also international, then it's on a very small scale, because Kukkiwon Taekwondo and The world Taekwondo Federation is/are the most popular by far, they are also in the Olympics. If you have proof otherwise please provide it.

  • ata diego ATA Wiorld

  • All you fags out there that keep hating, just stop! your embarrasing yourself by talking shit overthe internet about a martial art? That PROVES how little of a life you have.ATA happens to be a good martial arts system and teaches you morals and values of life.Everyone who keeps talking shit are just either insecure, failed at ATA cause they werent good, got beat up by someone in ATA,or just jealous. If you were a TRUE martial artist you would RESPECT another art so stop cuz we can beat ass well.

  • @XForsakenBladeX18 mr. you got no clue what your talkin about. the ata sucks cause they only want your money, you never use that shit on the streets.

  • In 4 days, I'm testing for my First Degree Black Belt! Worked SO hard on it, and proud! :D

  • @Rotneybot Well,you should be proud!!!

  • @9999900004222 I am proud! :D

  • @Huhmasta, I'm sorry that from what you saw from the ATA was a bad experience, I want you to know that there are many good instructors out there, my instructor has always been good to me, and if you look at Master Anderson, he has always let kids go to his schools even if their parents were struggling with cash, and he is one of the greatest masters out there now.

  • People might say that the ATA is nothing, it's safe to say that 99.9% of these people never accomplished anything, and have to bash other people for it to make themselves feel better. I'm with the ATA, and proud of it. I am very close to earning my 2nd degree black belt, and I don't see myself stopping

  • @dethmetalhed good for you man. I wish i stayed. I had to stop cause i wasnt able to afford it anymore. I only got to first degree

  • @dethmetalhed I take W.T.F and Blue belt now testing for High Blue next week. I have been taught to be respectful to all martial arts but from what I seen in videos I seen kids in class not paying attention people who are teens pooms sloppy and self defense very bad. Either they don't practice or the instructor didn't teach them directly but that is just me my nephew is in the AtA but I wished he was doing what I am doing.

  • My bad 2:29 fatty with black belt!

  • God damn I hate mcdojos! Mcdojos fuck mcdojos! 3:29 fatty with black belt!

  • @SuperFighter1996 And your statement right here shows how much respect, discipline, and humility you have learned.......which is none.

  • I love how at 3:30 it's like "and refined in AMERICA to perfection" as if only once in AMERICA the art can be perfected, oh the great and wonderful America where everything great comes from ¬_¬

  • @lpriadi Well, America IS exceptional

  • hi old master nice to see you agauin

  • This is all bull shit. ATA sucks ass. I went in a tournament and faced a few people from ATA and they sucked horse dick.

  • @ImAddictedToTKD Why would you talk like that to people and ill tell you now ATA songahm taekwondo is the most developed martial art in the world today so dont you try to say anything bad about the ata ive been with them for a year now and i know that if you was a real martial artist you wouldnt talk about another person that way

  • ATA is not the "style" of Taekwondo...SONGAHM is the style of Taekwondo. The international Headquarters is called World Traditional Taekwondo Union (WTTU) the schools in the USA use the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) logo, The South American Countries use the Songahm Taekwondo Federation (STF) logo, and other Countries in the world use the World Traditional Taekwondo Union (WTTU) logo...If you want to trash the orgination do you studing first.

  • @motheroftwosons An before you start claiming it IS the style of tae kwon-do how about YOU do some studying first. Tae Kwon-do originated from n was influenced by many martial arts in particular ancient korean marital arts like Taekkyon and Subak. The one which is closest to the original is ITF, ATA not too far off and WTF...well, thats just a sport ain't it. ALL of them deviated from the original kwans bit by bit, but if you were to say which one was it General Choi Hong Hi would be the founder

  • Im part of the oginazation, in fact im testing for my camo belt on oct 8 2010

  • I am a white belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and a 3rd Degree in Taekwondo under Chief Master Clark. Some people like the instant gratification that the ATA gives under its belt scheme. Some like traditional rankings. It's preference. Maybe ATA doesn't make you the next Randy Couture or the next Shogun Rua, but it did make me a focused, respectful, and social individual. I don't claim to be a saint, but the ATA taught me values, and certainly made me fit and flexible.

  • That's nice of you to say about ATA, but what is a "Chief Master?" is that better than an ordinary "Master" in real life?

  • it's good but my Grand Master is kind and lovong like every Grand Master should be :)

  • also, yuu hatas need to seriously need to stop talkin shit about ATA,

its a really good community. nd its still hard work it takes about 3years to become a 1st Degree Black Belt i should know i jus became one a few weeks ago. so all ya haters need o shut up b4 yuu get beat up !

  • i met GrandMaster Lee, he is kinda intimidating hahah really nice respectable though :)

  • I'm a student in ATA, and this is my second year being a student. If you asking me, I am a Recomended Black Belt, which means almost black belt. All I have to do is do all of the forms of White Belt to Red Belt.

  • I hate people who say "Taekwando sucks" or "ATA is not good enough to face another" I would like to see, any JuJitsu Blackbelt verses and 8th degree blackbelt, if ATA wins I just know haters going to say "Nah ATA used cheats, He pulled out a foam knife and whacked the guys leg"

  • @legodude4627 that has got to be the most biased match up ever! i won't put an ITF 7th Dan against two random JuJitsu Blackbelts!

the problem & reason for the hate towards ATA is that its named AMERICAN tkd association..... i am not American so is this art not for me?

the ITF (INTERNATIONAL Taekwon-do Federation) & WTF (WORLD Taekwondo Federation) are Martial Arts available across the world. Even in the vid, it states the art was perfected in the US..... i would say thanks to EGM H.U. LEE.

  • just one point, there is TKD WTF, and the rest. without WTF you can't fight on Olympic competitions.

  • @LocoRedKixx just one point, there is WTF in the olympics, WTF a break off from the ITF created by the south korean government in 73, ITF was formed in 66!! South Korean Government didnt want Gen. Choi to give Taekwon-Do to the world and the same happened with ATA, they had to leave korea in order to give the world the art so if it was down to the S.Korean government, there wouln't have been WTF in the Olympics!! in fact, TKD would be strictly for Koreans!

  • lol i started doing ata in texas a while back but im only a yellow belt right now. but im good

  • im a green belt. i got that two weeks ago

  • i am a first degree black belt my dad became a master in 2009

  • @caitlinbethgiles Decided camo...ATA foreva!!! :D

  • Whats up with all the haters?

  • @Vrathxx oo really? that sounds cool, fortunate to hear that not all of ATA is a money milker.

  • I am a student of Mr.Allison i am a red/black belt and I will be testing for my black belt decided on thursday

  • I was a direct student of Mr. Rex Veeder (then Chairman of ATA Board of Examiners, and later Steven Hupp...

  • I am Black Belt number 1870611332 with ATA...I remember master Lee at my testing in Tucson, AZ..I will always honor and cherish his teachings.....20+ years later

  • As much as I respect Grand Master HU Lee and his work and vision, his vision died when he did. ATA has simply degenerated into a disgusting cesspool of mcdojos. If you dont see that, than I feel sorry for you. I dont mean to insult you guys out there, but it's true. Ask anyone who were former ATA and they will agree with me 100%. There used to be a ATA place next to where I live, the lady in charge yells at students who dont bring money and refuses to let them test and its overpriced as hell.

  • @Huhmasta Also, the ATA place went out of business and was quickly replaced by White Tiger, another mcdojo, though no where near as bad as ATA.

  • @Huhmasta it seems like your basing your comment off of one school, i do admit there are "bad schools" out there but there are still people keeping his vision alive, i am apart of one, and i do admit that there is too much drama in some parts of the ata, but thats what happens when so many people are apart of something, a big family is what i see in ata, and its always going to have problems, its just the way we deal with them is what makes us different

  • @tyler5316 glad to hear it

  • anybody competing in worlds this year?

  • Its jut amazing how something so small can end up getting really big.

  • Comment removed

  • if its not strict its not karate ATA is the biggest and to me the BEST martial arts school ever imean in florida to get ur first degree u need to wait alot its not waiting its testings which are in other words suicide if you havent trained .Iam a first degree black belt . &ILOVE IT its taekwondo but once u get to black belt they mix everything lik in the firstt degree form theres japenese moves

  • And they mostly have bad attitudes especially to people who arent in their club, I do a completley different style and they know it from my friend talking bout me not in a bad way so when i wait from my friend they make fun of my style, dojo, and sensei. I hope not all are like this.

  • I don't know much bout the ATA in other places but where Im at they have a bad rep, a friend of mine who goes there is a 3rd degree black and cant kick above his head, the instructor is never there and I've seen 2 classes while waiting for my friend, students will jump up out of class and run after icecream trucks.

  • @Coldshadow25 WOW! That is so terrible! I swear not all the ATA schools are like that! In Jax, FL they were strict. If we were late to class we would have to do push ups to join. Sometimes we would have to stand in a deep middle stance with some kind of object on our thighs for what was supposed to be a minute but if someone dropped the object the time would start over. I personally am I size 24 and not only can I kick above my head I can also do the splits lol but I like the strictness.

  • @kbe1 That's what I like to see respectful martial artists you are true to your art and the true meaning of the martial arts. It's nice to make your aquaintence.

  • @Coldshadow25 Why thank you so much! :) So what form do you practice then? I really love taekwondo I have been unable to attend classes do to a dislocation and torn ligaments in my ankle. Which happened Sept. 3rd! And I still can't walk straight! I can't for it to be healed properly so I can get back in there! :)

  • @kbe1 I am a Shotokan practitoner actually, like you I love the art very much. Im sorry to hear about your injury I dislocated my shoulder a few months ago in tournament, so i know. Not being able to train hurt worse than the the injury. I'll pray for you quick recovery.

  • @

    snowboardingjunkie13

holding spring nationals isent free shit cost money

  • I agree I know some pretty bad ass 4th and 5th degree ATA black belts

  • ATA is not a commercial only martial art, it's just not a free martial art.

In ATA, it takes up to 3,5 years to become a black belt, i know this because I've just became one. So stoping saying that a ATA taekwondo athlete can't compete with others martial arts.

Let's stop with this pre concepts and try to see the truth, and most important of all, apreciate this video, that is a beatiful tribute to our art.

  • @jgblink sorry to say this my friend takes close to 10 yeas to be a black belt in Brazilian Jujisu, takes 10 to 12 years to become Black in JUJITSU and Judo, toke me 9 yeas to become Black belt in Shorin-Ryu Okinawan Karate in Brazil, took me to get the Real WTF tkd black belt 5 years, cuz you cant be Black belt before you turn 15 years old just first POON, and today i m a Master in TKD WTF, but my pint is 3,5 year is not long time to make you mature Martial Artist.

  • @jgblink

LOL! The ATA..along with the ITA this is the worst McDojo going. With RARE exception, no one in the ATA can hang with other legit martial artists. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @jgblink cool. i'm a black belt in ATA too. And your right, people who are in ATA can beat anyone up.

  • @jgblink 3.5 is still below average. My art an average of 8-10 years and we don't do tag sparring

  • @jgblink well you took TKD from a sell out school dude...that is money based...it took me 8 years... back when you actually had to EARN Your black belt...now a days kids can go for a year and get a black belt with a thousand or so dollars.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bluerocka145 with the ATA if you work hard and pass all your testings. a first degree black belt can be achieved in a bout a year

  • your being sarcastic right?

  • That statement is incorrect. It takes 30-36 months on average to earn 1st Degree. Granted, there are some people who do "accelerated" programs, but I disagree with that concept. Time is an integral part of training.

  • @Clothahump agreed, some martial arts schools like to take more time than others on material. however in the ATA the average testing cycle is about two months. given that there are 9 lower belts to achieve 1st degree. it takes about 18 months to get your black belt. HOWEVER!!!!! not everyone will pass there testings so most of the time it does take a little longer.

  • @cooljeep0 - that's assuming that everyone only spends two months per rank. In our school, for example, if a student passes every test, they can expect to make 1st Degree in about 32 months. The reason is that starting at 4 kup (Purple Belt), things get more difficult and it is the norm to spend at least 4 months time in rank, if not longer.

  • @Clothahump well sense this is a comment on a ATA video and someone asked how long it took to get a black belt. i answered based on ATA. Also 4 kup? what style martial art do you practice. regardless its cool to talk to a fellow martial artist.

  • @cooljeep0 - I'm a 5th Degree in the ATA. I used the term "4th kup" because other TKD stylists would recognize it. We actually don't use the term, but say "4th Grade Purple Belt" instead.

  • @cooljeep0 the school I go to goes by kawaiikon standers in belts heck it took one year to get to blue belt now I am testing for High blue it take 3 months for my testing for Red then another 3 months for H Red. Then there is another 4 months to test for deputy that is how it goes at my school.

  • Comment removed

  • No such thing as nunchucks.

  • @Clothahump really? how do you figure? maybe you should study up a little before you challenge a world wide martial arts tool that you know nothing about

  • Explain bitch.

  • Im a blackbelt in taekwondo it is very challenging but awesome

  • see, idk ata seems great but at the same time, it seems anyone can get a black belt. like a 10 year old has a black belt, witch is fine if there actually that good BUT there not! I had no martial experiance and I can take multiple black belts because of my size( and myself being 17)

im not trying to brag but sometimes a "black"belt seems not such a big thing

  • WELL IF YOU ASK ME, ATA'S SYSTEM AT THE COLOR BELT LEVEL IS ALL ABOUT DEVELOPING THE STRENGTH AND COORDINATION NECESSARY FOR SELF DEFENSE. BLACK BELT IS REALLY THE BEGINNING WHERE ALL BLACK BELTS SHOULD BE LEARNING HOW TO HARVEST THE TECHNIQUES. SOME SYSTEM'S COLOR BELT IS WHERE YOU ACCOMPLISH all these things and then BLACK BELT YOUR SOME SORT OF MASTER. There is no bad martial arts people....Theres only bad instructors.

  • your right in theres no bad martial art, and I understand that there belt systen works better.what im saying is that these children who get there black belts dont understand the belt system, they think they can take on anyone and have gotten hurt because of it. the instructors are the ones who need to share more about the system

  • @jsfdude NOT EVERYBODY CAN GET A BLACK BELT. To get a black belt it is a long road

  • EXACTLY MY POINT! but there just handing them out nowadays!

  • EVERYONE can get a black belt if you have the money. hello! we live in united states. everything is earned by means of money.

  • And you have to earn money, what's your point?

  • my point is that you suck. get it? now fuck off.

  • That's really mature.

  • alright alright. like i said, fuck off! thank you.

  • Your very welcome.

  • Perhaps *you* should. I'm a 5th Degree Black Belt and I teach people how to use them. The correct term is nunchaku in Japanese; it's Ssahng Jeol Bong in Korean. Only people ignorant of the correct term call them nunchuks, numchux, etc.

  • last night i tested for my BROWN BELT,

i was so nervous but i'm sure i passed,

    (Dec.20-10:43)

    ATA all the way!!!

  • Isukatlax the fact that you are 18 and opening your school is very commendable. Congrats. That being said, I studied and taught ATA for a very long time. The ATA is a great program, with some bad sheep. A lot of people focus more on making money and squeezing their customers. This is why I stopped teaching. It became more about taking money than teaching the students.

  • @djcompose thats what i just kinda started to notice. i just went to nationals in Las Vegas this last week and attended some business seminars. Sr. Master Abare (spelling? lol) and it seemed just like sales sales sales wasnt impressed

  • @snowboardingjunkie13 - it's actually spelled Abair. Keep in mind, though, that a martial arts school is a business. We have to sell in order to keep the doors open. But when the selling interferes with the teaching, then I have a problem, and sadly, too many schools are letting that happen.

  • @Clothahump that is true, but idk i guess just the way he was talking kinda made everything seem like all about sales. but oh well, he was a very nice guy

  • My daughter is 10 and has been doing ATA for a year and a half. She is going to be testing for red/black belt. ATA has done wonders for her self-esteem, self-respect, and physical stamina. She works very hard at it and it shows.

  • hey guys i got a question. not to seem rude but is it true that the ata really is infamous or has a bad reputation?

  • no ATA does not have a bad rep,

im apart of ATA and i love it, im glad i joined ATA rather than some other TKD school

  • yes it does

  • @ucoolenuf - a lot of the ATA's "bad rep" came from people who badmouthed the organization because they either knew nothing of it and were jealous of its success, or they washed out of the ATA because they couldn't hack the training. Unfortunately, these days it seems like we are trying to earn the bad rep. :-(
