  • 78 with 65,032 miles. blue paint with while top.

  • I got a orange 78 bird no rust holla

  • Do you think she will ever sell the t bird ?If so how much ?

  • Why are you out of breath?

  • My 79 T-bird did the same thing the starter would "whine" once when cold..lol

  • my hubby is buying this car for 500 bucks this frday. hope he is satisfied.

  • Is that the original paint? Those cars look huge now!

  • Sounds exactly like my 1979 Cougar with a 351m when your starting it. One of these days need to get a video on here to share.

  • goddamn thats a big car

  • @Alexn1067 Haha, they can get much bigger. Try taking a look at a 1976 ford Thunderbird or Lincoln Continental

  • you can hear that bad spot in the flywheel

  • id perfer that over a shitty 90s model

  • @blackmetalhoward I totally agree, them cars were pos in the ninety's.

  • nice car. send me one to Brazil

  • What happen at the first crank? Where it look like the starter was broken.

  • ilove that car but you sould lite it run forabout 10 or 20 mins not like 5 or 6 mins

  • I see these "cold start" videos, and 1 thing stands out: No one knows how to start an older carbureted vehicle! The first they do is start pumping the gas pedal! If the car hasn't been run for a year or more you may need to prime the carb - from under the hood, though. Otherwise, just turn the key to the "on" position, press the pedal all the way to the floor ONCE, and then release it. Now, turn the key. Let the choke do it's job! That's why these cars run like crap when they finally do start.

  • @jwcasciato Well thats the right way to do it. I always do one full press to the floor once and thats usually all she needs unless its below freezing or she's been sitting a long time.

  • @Thomasmen523 I'm not so sure about that. Have you ever looked in the carb when someone is pumping the gas. It actually pumps some gas into the carb to prime it. It works the same as when you push the prime button on some lawn mowers. Anyhow, I have always had much better luck starting old carbureted cars when pumping the gas a few times. Maybe it's just me...

  • @jwcasciato yr spot on...they save alot of stuffin around if they just pour bit fuel straight down the throat of the carb and turn the key over...usually they start first crank. sittin for years most will kick easy as

  • @jwcasciato The choke of my V6 isn't working too well, that's why I also have to pump while starting in the winter (it's a Ford so it WILL run) But I totally agree with you man! People know way to little of engines and the pieces of technique they're driving. Like my mom asked me if her car had front or rearwheeldrive (it's a 4x4) and a friend of mine thought he had a 5cilinder while he had only 4 (just count the sparkplugs buddy!!) It pisses me of sometimes....

  • @EpiLesPaulJunior number of spark plugs dosnt mean number of cylinders, Ford rangers i some years had 8 plugs on a 4 cylinder engine, so did Nissan.

  • @michaelpack1988 I've never seen an engine like that. And I also can't imagine what that's good for, igniting the mixture on two places for a better burning??

Or did you have a V8 in your Ford which was only running on 4 cylinders ;)

  • @EpiLesPaulJunior look it up, im not lying to you at all. Iv never owned a car myself that had a v8. But as a mechanic, i know what im talking about.

  • @michaelpack1988 It's not that I don't believe you, it's just something I'd never heard of before!

  • @EpiLesPaulJunior I think it is pointless. From what I was told the reasone ford did that to the 2300 engine in the late 90's was so that it would meet emission standards.

  • @jwcasciato I agree with you. My first car was carbureted, and I never had a problem starting it. All the way to the floor once, turned the key, and it always started right up, no matter what the weather was. Let it run for a few minutes, kick the idle down, and never had a problem.

  • such a cool car. we had one with the same features, just a dark red.

  • Would your sister sell the car if so what is the price. Thanks

  • i dont think she is going to, these things almost are priceless in mint condition, i found one that had 80,000 miles on it in mint condition and the owner wanted 20,000 for it.

  • What was the difference between the base Thunderbird and the Diamond Jubilee edition? I only heard about those versions of the car on Wikipedia.

  • @comgeek24

The base T-bird was just that base, then could be optioned. The Diamond Jubilee was initially an anniversary edition I believe, but could be visually seperated by having the rear quarter window deleted. It was solid where the window would have been, and had a padded vinyl top. There weretypically fully loaded, cornering lamps, power everything, 351M or 400. In 79 it was changed to the heritage and would come with your name on a plaque placed on the glove compartment.

  • My dad had a '79 Cougar with the optional full instrumentation (shown) without the A-C, sport mirrors, and stereo.

  • Love to see her coldstarting it.

  • im so tired of people refering to these a long or boats the 1970 charger was a foot longer then the 79 t bird look it up

  • @importssuckazz That would be a 70 vs a 79...and its a dodge...how exactly does that work or even mater? Oh wait. It doesn't :)

  • What do you mean it doesn't work or matter? A car sitting on four wheels is a car on four wheels.

Doesn't matter if its a 1970, 1990, 1979..if one is a foot longer than the other, it LONGER.

Even the brand doesn't matter...longer is longer, period

  • @WhoSaidTyler Don't be dissing the t-bird just because it's a foot shorter than another car made 10 years earlier. This t-bird is still as long as my dad's full size truck. One foot doesn't matter It's still a boat! And an awesome one at that!

  • @mattg889 Thanks! Its a good bit longer then an Expedition too :)

  • @WhoSaidTyler Not really. He was comparing another car from a different period of relevance. The 70's held the most drastic changes to the mid and full size cars. What was once midsize is now monsterous today. So yeah. It doesn't work or matter.

  • O.o my i own a 1979 tbird:D

  • I have the Exact same rims on my 74 Montego.

  • An old start, Cold Fart video basicly...

  • Tears rolling down my face I miss mine!!!

  • nice video.

  • Hell yea its a ford!

  • Your Sister's car ??? WHAT THE HELL ?

Those Cars Are Freaking AWESOME !!!!

and your little sis shouldnt be driving it No Offense

  • Yes she should. Girls look great driving classics

  • Gotta love that long and winding start! Nice that it has the gauge package though including a tachometer. My friend had a 78 but with standard instrumentation and a 351M. Nice car.

  • These cars eptiomize the meaning fun to drive I waste so much gas but have a blast.

  • My t bird has a valve tap but it has 208,000 on it. I dont want it to die!

  • Love the long expanses of sheetmetal. Big rumbling V8. Rolling art.

  • Love them

  • do a super non sart cold start

  • The dog is getting ready to poop.

  • Nice to see the hideaway headlights still work.

  • 179,000 on my 1979 - still runs strong (even stronger when I drop the 400 in....
