I remember a guy in HS drove one of these ( this was in 1969 ) It was his mom's and was totally unremarkable..dog dish hubcaps..flat paint...and we all smirked at his " ride " Until he raced ya that is...that 413 is a monster.
ohhh my grandpa have one of this cars he's dead 3 years ago and i have this car but the car it's die no have battery and gas and i want use domeboy can help me??
Plymouth's answer to Chevy's big gun 409. One of these 413s ran an 11 second 118mph in the quarter mile in 1962 (Modified of course), it broke the record for fastest pass with a passenger car at that time. The Savoy and Belv. were also some of the lighter bodies of muscle cars then, people would order them with the 413 super-stock and no heater or radio to save even more weight. Cool cars.
I'm still more of a Chevy guy though, grew up listening to my dad talk about his Camaro.
I just sold my 63 Dodge 440 426 Maxie. These cars are just plain FUN to Drive.Chrysler changed Drag Racing forever. These cars are and were extremely significant in Automotive History and engineering.Dominated Super Stock Drag Racing in the 1960's.Thank you to a bunch of Hot Rodding/Drag Racing nuts who just happened to be Chrysler engineers.
This is PURE art! The steels, the sound. The best muscle car I have ever saw. Always loved Mopars from ever since I ever saw my first one on TV, a 1969 Charger, and I always will love Mopars. They look better than any GM or Ford product and they fly!
Nothing like a big chrysler for durability and power =) alot of brands (not gonna say names) pay extra after market for stuff that came standard on big chryslers.. Skirted block/shaft based rockers / external oiling etc etc.. Mopar was so far ahead of its time back in the muscle car era.. Go Chrysler!! (old chrysler that is) =(

Ugly car with a big engine, I'd take a stingray any day of the week over that! Being fast is one thing, but if you can't stand looking at it, what's the point?!
typical chevy boy... why dont you go fix your broke ass Bow Tie... anyone that konws anything about mopars cant help but apreciate a true vintage piece of automotive history... the 413 would do a tap dance all over your pony ass 350 or 396... what ever tickles your buttons man, but i feel sorry for you lol
@mike3684 I gotta pay respect to the mopar boys for coming up with the Hemi.Afterall, all top fuel motors are based on the Hemi. But you have to admit they made some ugly ass looking cars.Chevy rules when it comes to body design.
yea, makes me wish my 63 belvedere had somethin more ballsy than a bored over, multi carbed cammed slanty....just a lil bit lol! nice job on the paint, friend.
Thanks..........thanks a lot..........I drooled all over my keyboard..........what a mess..........hey seriously, nice Plymouth, I am hoping to build one too, I just got a 413 and I live on Moparts.........take care, enjoy your beast!
i love this MOPAR. its insane with the power and the sound of it. i would of loved living in the era of muscle car world. i remember i had a friend that his grandfather owned one of these cars and i swear that car was made for a evil evil man. you could hear that car coming from miles away and you knew exactly what was coming. to make matters worse it was black and at night with the lights on it was really evil. i miss that beast and wat a rush it was being in the passanger seat everytime
Vintage classic movie, It's a Mad Mad Mad World has a 1962 Plymouth Wagon in the movie. The 62 Plymouths are the best looking cars ever made. Desoto's were planned for 62 before their demise 11/30/60 and they resembled the style of the 62 Plymouth.
Probably the ultimate sleeper. That is until the motor lights up and that thunder comes from under the hood.

Would have been nice to hear the engine instead of a rubbed-into-the-ground Stone's song. Great car though.
