Are there any major risks to doing this. We have the updated Wii Menu (4.2 I believe). I've heard elsewhere that Nintendo causes the system to brick once HomeBrew is detected. Don't really want to disable system updates as they could be beneficial to the improvement of the system. I would LOVE to install this, but not at the risk of killing the system in the process. Any help or information regarding this would be GREATLY appreciated. Kudos.
I have firmware 3.3U still, and I have yet to update. I just install all the ios's that I need to run newer games that require updates. And I can still use my Wii Shop channel too. Just look for the CORRECT files you need to install and follow the directions accordingly! And don't use IOS installers from any unknown groups. That will fuck your Wii up!
Thanks for the reply. Went ahead and installed it a couple of weeks ago. I've only been using it for console emulators and so far so good. The Wii even performed a parental control online update which didn't affect anything either. I have no interest in game hacks/cheats, etc. Just nice to be able to play the old games I grew up with as a kid (Atari, NES, etc).
you have no worries i updated through nintendo and all it does is remove all homebrew detected witch can be reinstalled thanks to that little sd card channel.
its seems like everything they perfect they ruin with a new window for hacking......
i got a couple of quesions to ask. 1: how do you download homebrew by computer or you have to download internet channel then download there. 2:i heard homebrew can play region free games is it true. 3:when ever you play one of the games in homebrew and save in the game will it save your file or some of them cant save.
oh okay thanks. i for got one more question. if you download homebrew will it cause any problems like computer virus or anything like that. just making shore before i download it.
nope its all good, no viruses. but you should research properly before installing homebrew on your wii, as it can have serious consequences if you screw it up.
Dude you forgot the best thing about Homebrew. Playing actual games like NSMB or COD, I didnt see any Usb loaders or anything

I also noticed you downloaded a VC game for free. That's stealing.
ShadowStar1224 2 years ago
that is correct,, however i was simply doing that for educational purposes only, i do not endorse the stealing of VC games at all.
