  • Well, I'm not sure about the colour either, but it really is beautifully flown.

  • Cool plane. Thanks for not adding a music sound track. It was nice to hear the motor.

  • Those fly-by sounds are just sweet!

  • Great sound...!

  • I agree with most, it's his aircraft if he wanted to paint it pink and put a brushless motor on it then it'd still be his pride and joy to fly, he paid the money, those making digs about not true to the original aircraft... well you just clicked the link to watch the video.. nobody made you :p

  • I think its bad ass, listed to that prop sing. Besides this guy can power his plane any way he wants. Why not stick a pulse jet on it hey, ironic lol.

  • But will it Blend?

  • @ManuCath I agree 100%. If your going to own and build that plane, do it right. Putting a fucking turboprop into a fucking historic PISTON engine plane! You're an idiot!

  • @jordanrk21

The prop noise sounds like the real one does....

Placing a Load zenoah 62cc single is a load POS...IMHO....

This plane can be flown, and doesn't piss off all the sourounding homes like

    those weed wacker engines do....

I don't think you know what your talking about....

  • Beautiful aircraft...wrong sound, sorry.

  • You should be hanged by your gentleman veg for replacing the sound of a proper engine with that turbine.

Especially in a spitfire........ Tut tut.

  • You should buy a Jet-Modell and place the turbine in this!

    But PLEASE...NOT IN A SPITFIRE,!!!

(or like the other guy in a P-51...!)

  • @AvaX2000 The P-51 can correctly be equipped with the turbo prop, as the Piper Enforcer. Two of these were actually built, and test flown. The Enforcer did not have the radiator scoop.

  • Absolutely beautiful!! I had the pleasure of many rides in a Mark 9T and am a Spit lover! Beautiful mate!! Well done! I am a RC guy and have not seen turbo props before, what engine are you using? What fuel do you use??

    Well done!!!

  • I cried!

  • one of the nicest r/c planes i've ever seen!

  • @seeingeyegod You need glasses mate

  • A great plane they should build a real spitfire with a turbine

  • Spitfire is a real airplane, with a propeller and un big pistons engines. Replace it by a turboprop is a scandal.....

Bonne chance!

  • @ferociousfrankie monter la moteur dans un hélicoptère!

  • Really, really spetacular!!!! Congrats!!!!! Super!! AAA+++

  • @ManuCath I totally agree with this statement but considering the other options of engine this seems to sound more like the original with the supercharged rolls royce merlin engine. but maybe this is just me. but i do agree with the original being piston powered and no jet will be able to fill the very large boot of the world wild achievement that the piston engine has.

  • @ManuCath Evolution not scandal.

  • @ManuCath Honestly, it makes it sound like a real spitty on flybys.

  • @ManuCath If there had been tuboprops available during WW2, Spitfires surely would have been using them.. among others.

  • @ManuCath This is a toy plane. it is not real. it can be powered with anything.. Unless it is powered by a 1/4 scale Merlin exact replica then its a scandal no matter what.... This actually sounds closer to the full size than a single cylinder glow or petrol engine!

  • WOW no take off roll required here! The plane just leaped into the air :) Nicely done mate.

  • Imagine if they had a Turboprop in the Spitty during WW2.

  • Sorry but realistically why would you spoil a great scale Aircraft but putting a turbine in it,

Turbo Prop engines available now should be put in Scale Turbine Aircraft , I have seen a Spit with a replica 12 cylinder engine that sounded fantastic, this while being true to modeler's experimentive nature detracts from the scalenes of the Aircraft ,

  • @mozzmann Why not, it's a hobby, have some fun. Why follow the crowd all the time?

  • @gertnood Innovateive mate yes but it does detract form a splendid Aircraft , I gues I'm just jealous as I WANT one of those Turbo units for my Porter

  • Turboprop spitfire, and that small? Now I've seen everything. Sounds good too :)

  • i like the paint scheme.

  • really beautifully flown and a cracking performance out the spit, but that colour scheme???? Eeeeuuuuwww! Do appreciate that its more of a flying experiment but its a bit like seeing racing stripes on a Rolls Royce!!

  • Lovely machine....what sort of wheel brakes are you employing?....Lovely roll out after touch down, didn't think you'd make it at one point!..cheers!

  • Absolutely gorgeous and very well done..

  • :-)

  • Beautiful job all around....plane, pilot and cam man!

  • Super build bud. Very cool sound in the fly by. Well done ,thanks.

  • Wow! How not to be dissapointed by a spitfire! Great video.

  • the molds for this spitfire were made in USA, see watt flyer quarter scale spitfire build. google not you tube.

  • great sound

  • wow huge power from that turbo prop .it's like just flying a motor ..is there enough power to hover vertical ??

  • WHY TURBOPROP ON A SPITFIRE ?????

  • @kloakovalimonada the sound is fkn awesome :p

  • bloddy good pip pip cherio and smashing good time for all. ill just pop in right round the corner. that was bangers and mash id say so.

  • I want one, very nice plane

  • WOW!

  • Wow what a sound as it flies past!

  • Great! I m loving your plane.

  • That things sounds and looks like it has gobs of power

  • Wow what a sound, please get this to woodvale this year, it alone will cover the entrance fee

    Fantastic sound

  • Very nice plane sounds great and fast too. Look's very smooth. I like the colour scheme is that the blackpool spitfire colours. I heard they only ever made one with these colours.

  • Has a lovely sound to it once in the air. Almost has that merlin growl as it goes by.

Would I be right in thinking someone did actually make a fullsize turboprop powered spitfire for racing?

Next will be a cavalier mustang

  • Very nice. Really. Gentle slooow aerobacy typical for Spitfire. Ans airplane needs a lot of power for this and here is it.

And about sound... I think that this sound is better than any shrilling engine from chainsaw... :)

  • what with the colour scheme- looks like a crop sprayer, why bother going to all that pain and not follow through with scale markings?

  • I don't think that was its intended scheme. It looks like they couldn't wait to fly it before finishing it 100% so they flew it like that. I'm guessing later on, it got a nice paint job and scale markings, but I don't know.

  • Comment removed

  • @ferociousfrankie

It was an R.A.F racing paint job. It is in lots of books. Very different and striking. Good choice.

  • @ferociousfrankie - I bet the visibility of its orientation was good in the evening sunset though lol. Since scale markings were designed as camouflage not to be seen easily, especially the pale blue belly variants.

  • @edburnzy high visability orange underside silver top. probably flight test colors.

  • @edburnzy visability

  • @edburnzy Wasn't there a Spitfire with this scheme for an air-race, or record attempt?

  • @MrMoorkey My dad owned the racing Spitfire, Spitfire 80. She was raced in 1949 at the National Air Races in Cleveland, Ohio. She is an FR MK XIV e, Griffon powered, with the 5 blade Rotol propeller. She had the low altitude clipped wing tips, and a bubble canopy

  • @tz138 No, I'm talking about RN201 (G-BSKP) / TD248 (G-OXVI), Blackpool Air Race colours, circa 1948/9. RN201 has a bubble canopy and full wings, whilst 248 has clipped wings, and a standard canopy. This looks like a hybrid of those colours. Spit 80 looks sweet though!

  • My god that thing sounds good. Not as good as the Merlin but a damn close second.

  • i agree

  • Excellent!
