I've got 4 helix, two of which were pierced using a gun: hurts more and it's been 2 years and it still hasn't healed

Piercings heal from the outside in so just because it looks fine doesn't always mean it's healed, and if you take it put and let it close up, the hole will stay in your cartilage and the skin will heal over it...

Except that when you do it with a gun you splinter the cartilage so that 1 the piercing does NEVER completely heal so you always have the chance of getting infections out of nowhere and 2 you have the chance to get a deformed ear. So yeah, it didn't hurt but guess what?! This is even more stupid than what these two girls did. Besides, getting your helix done PROFESSIONALLY doesn't hurt at all. Believe me, I have three, I know.

I got mine done in a studio. The girl used a gun but I only discovered afterwards that that was the wrong thing to do.

Anyway, she tried to do it but the gun wouldn't pierce the bone and she randomly decided to push the EARRING through herself. It was so painful, and I couldn't sleep on that side for six months.

i did it twice, once by myself simply with an earing, pushing a sharp earing through, it doesnt hurt, but you hear it breaking through the cartilage, and then i took it out cuz my friends thought it would get infected, stupid thing to do. then i got it done with a gun, its not as precise, and it hurts like hell! after three days it got swollen cuz it shattered the cartilage. so i had to take it out! maybe doing it yourself isnt the best, get a pro to do it with a needle.
