  • Anton Fig is drumming nightly with the Paul Shaffer band and David Letterman...Bogie Bowles recently was with Kenny Wayne Sheppard...another great axe player

  • Is that a JP signature?

  • @kostakos1331

Its Actually a joe bonamassa signature. :) He said he was ecstatic to get a call from gibson to make he own guitar.

  • @kamb26 no i meant the guitar at the very end. It seems like a musicman

  • my dick came off my body and floated to and fro then went to the neighbors house to eat some lasagna then it went to the local bar and bought everyone a round!!!!!!!! i love my dick!!!!!!!!

  • Joe's awesome as always! Exquisite playing by the entire band!

  • Awesome !! Very tight Drumwork, and J.B is still Nr. 1 :)

  • +1

  • Anyone know who wrote this song?

  • @Cannadarlin1 I'm pretty sure Joe did.

  • type in joe bo and it still comes up with joe bonamassa he's getting for famous yay.

  • I Din't want it to end :(

  • @fuckyou334

Judging by your username, you just go around commenting on videos saying people suck, so i'm not even gonna argue with you...

  • @fuckyou334 idiot...

  • Dinomite I love it . Trebor

  • the real magic in this song is how tight the drummers are

  • Those drummers are tighter than a nuns snatch

  • @ifilmandotherstuff i was drinking coffee when i read your comment, the inside of my nose burns...haha

  • @ifilmandotherstuff Would that be tighter than a nuns convent nice note all the best

  • What is the name of the song at the end of the video?

  • @Qupistra The Ballad Of John Henry. ^_^

  • @Chynaash Thanks!

  • @Qupistra no problem.

  • To all the dead and gone legends who are awakened by this Phenom I will never ever begin to make bad assumption based on one tune I have heard all there is to hear with this legendary awesome quite fantastic gifted man. When i first heard him it was on PBS and these tunes are forever instilled in me that to which no man can deny a crying Les Paul or Gibson will take ones breath away. You are legendary Joe and i weep for the ones who passed befor u,Yet u instill a remarkable love for all who play

  • wow listen to that tone..its all the the fingers of the player and joes is, as expected , fantastic!

  • i like joe's playing so much more on stuff like this than his blues stuff...it really shows off his own personality, also like the fact he isn't playing a million notes-- it's pretty damn hard (impossible, actually) to play soullfully and super-fast at the same time...this is why there is one bb king for every 10,000 shredding noodlers...

  • A great DVD show .Watch Eric Clapton get amazed...Joe Bonamassa is easily the best guitarist out there today

  • I would start crying if that many people stood up and cheered for me but he deserves it.One of the best.

  • 1:35 I don't think people even realize how hard it is for drummers to be that synchronized, that was amazing!!

  • @xchump I do, I played with two drummers. They are excellent those two. :o)

  • People who think this is shit have no soul or emotion!!! I meanwhile will sit back and enjoy!!!!!!!!

  • dear people who think this is shit. Don't judge an artist by one song and i'd love for you to do better and when youve played with eric clapton and bb king before the age of 20 come back and say something

  • This is great, great stuff. I just don't understand why people always seem to overlook Alex Lifeson when discussing "Guitar Gods, or "The Finest Guitarists on The Planet". It;s a shame the man will never get credit where it is due. Guns N Roses are inducted into the RR Hall Of Fame, yet Rush is not? WTF??? Just recently discovered Bonamassa myself, and I am thoroughly impressed. This entire performance was spectacular!

  • This is no video, this is a small film. Well done!

  • We saw him live in concert and he is awesome. Worth every penny. Amazing performance. We got to meet him in person. Great guy.

  • hell, gary moore is way better.. shame on you guys.

  • Boring

  • Finally Joe is playing tasty and will feel unlike what I'm used to seeing. Nice piece. Nice melody.

  • Joe Bonamassa sucks

  • @fuckyou334

As good as your daddy tosses salad?

  • @fuckyou334 I saw having a bitch on another Bonamassa vid. If you think he sucks so much, why do you keep on watching his video's???

  • @fuckyou334 im sure your a lot better.. you prick, hes actually the best! BB king said he'd be famous before he was 25, and he opened for BB king and played at his club and your saying he sucks wow. just wow

  • @telegsa015 You tell the fucker and i will agree with u 110percent brother blues from Canada eh

  • @PETESEYESBLUE everyone should agree! thiss bloke has no ieda about music... or anything judging by his name,

  • @fuckyou334 No fuk u u arrogant fukin prik u remind me of some jealous fukin idiot who has nothing better to do than make remarks about someone who is clearly the new Icon of Blues If u dislike him so fukin much why bother posting such a brainless remark.Your vocabulary is such incignifigant I don't know why i am telling u off.For certain if he is loved by millions u have no one who luvs u fukin prik fuk off

  • @fuckyou334 yes joe sucks so much that he played with bb king at the age of 12 seriously there is always one idiot one useless waste of flesh that has to ruin anything good in this world and has bring anyone down that trys to do anything so why dont just fuck you peice of shit

  • @fuckyou334 you still going on about how bad you think Joe is? Joe is one of the best guitarists around, when you were young were you playing with BB King? i dont think so? if he was capable of playing with BB king at the age of 12, at his current age, he is definitely one of the best so shut up

  • i seem to be one of the few commenteers who is aware that this melody is a straight rip from Django Reinhardts "vous et moi." hence the title "Django."

  • @xemosintightsx you seem to be the only one who doesnt get that its joes interpretation of djangos song. not a rip.

  • richtig geiles lied, kein wunder das im dieses konzert erst so richtig bekant gemacht hat

  • Awesome, but two drummers? Why?

  • @Paweljarski Not only the guitarrists are artist, the drummers can do very beautiful things, and the power of one drummer multiplied per two is incredible. You say "why two drummers", but why two guitars?. It is the same.

  • @DependenciaMusical Initially it seemed a little strange, since with two guitarists you can have harmonies, or one focusing primarily on lead whilst the other does more rhythm, etc. Although having two drummers is far less conventional and introduces (in my opinion) a different dynamic to that of two guitar players, I guess I see your point!

  • He looks like a monkey, but plays like an angel. Not that I believe in angels.

  • Love this

  • Masterful

  • I'm so glad that Joe made it to Albert Hall. This concert is just phenomenal and without out it, I probably wouldn't have become such a huge Bonamassa fan.

  • man does drummers are tight as shit!

  • i always thought that the 57 les paul with black parts would be a great reissue.... and then joe appeared. maybe the classiest guitar in the world.... maybe lucille, the es-335, the prs´s

  • everytime I want to explain to someone why the electric guitar is for me the most expressive instrument, I show this live version... beautiful. People asks why the glasses... I guess is to hide the expresions that joe does when he i soloing. Just see the stop video.

  • @hungerstriker27 I am guessing those spotlights get annoying as all hell trying to see your pedals on the floor. I would have shades on too, stagelights are one thing, but two or three spots at the same time....

  • Rock on Joe!

  • wow Joe's come on a lot, the last time I saw him, only about 6 years ago, he wanted to buy a rug from me, but I didn't have anything cheap enough. Now he has enough to fill a palace!

  • its so simple and so perfect loved it from the first second I heard it:D

  • joe bonammassa is thee best player ive ever heard only started listning to him last xmas and i love his style of playin his sound is mind blowing, hes the 1st musician i listin to in the morning and the last at night (and all day :P) what a player he seem like a gent aswell defo my idol, cant wait to see his live show !!!!! GO JOE (COME TO IRELAND MORE!!!!!!!)

  • @bubsadoozy, didn't know you are more expert than many music critics and guitar professionals, and I'm sure you have played in Royal Albert hall yourself and had thousands people spend the money to see you.

  • @bc10161 Its nice to see Joe so humbly walk on and the beginning. Not too many have played this hall of legends and now not many more after Joe The keeper of my music soul never to fade from my mind we love u JOE Bonammassa go get that legend number 1 you deserve in time

  • Pretty overdone performance of a guitar player for such simple guitar work. Not that it doesn't sound great but he's no godf of the guitar.

  • @bubsadoozy Have you watched the other 18 songs in this concert bozo? It's not about outperforming every guitarist of all time in one song; he put on a magnificent musical performance with his guitar playing, his singing, his stage presence...using multiple guitars, diverse types of music, and he did it all impeccably. I don't think Joe Bonamassa needs to apologize to you or anyone for performing his heart out using an instrument that he's been passionate about since he was a toddler.

  • @rwchurch55373 You call it performing his heart out I call it petting his ego. I have watched his other songs actually. Thanks for being a presumptuous ass.

  • @rwchurch55373 You are out of your mind. Two words for you sparky: Barry Richman.

  • @rwchurch55373 Chew on this sparky: youtube.com/watch?v=aHm5JwLId_0

  • @bubsadoozy Wow it's like Bonomassa's arrogance get's implanted in all of his fans. Do you think you're the king of rock and roll playing simple guitar licks too?

  • @bubsadoozy I've watched dozens of video interviews and read lots of print interviews, and Bonamassa comes across as perhaps the LEAST egotistical person in the music industry. He's well known for being a genuinely good guy (kind of like how Steve Morse is). And if you think his licks are simple...well, let's hear some of your clips and then we'll see where everyone stands.

  • @bubsadoozy I've seen him shred - at Eric Johnson's level. But here's what separates Joe from the rest of the pack: He was wise enough to realize he's in the entertainment business, not the shred guitar business. As such, he's cultivated his singing skills, his songwriting skills, his showmanship / entertainment skills - AND he keeps his chops on a short leash. All the hallmarks of a mature musician. THAT is why he's playing the Royal Albert Hall instead of 200 seat clubs.

  • @ksmithdc That's where opinion comes in. I don't really respect a musician who takes himself too seriously. If he's worried about being in the entertainment business and keeps his skill on a short leash then maybe it's not the right venue for him. I don't think wisdom is dumbing yourself down to make more money and entertain people. Entertain me because you are a good musician instead of being a musician who is consciously entertaining.

  • @bubsadoozy I've been playing for almost 30 years and have met a great many of the world's foremost virtuosos. From jazz fusion virtuosos to the shred monsters to bebop players to classic guitar virtuosos. And they ALL take themselves and their craft seriously. Most people cannot make a living playing music (and it has nothing to do with their guitar prowess). It's just the economics of the entertainment industry. But people who play instrumental guitar basic music especially have it tough.

  • @bubsadoozy I didn't say Joe keeps his skill on a short leash. I said he keeps his chops on a short leash. His skill comes out at all time - in droves. Eric Clapton went through a transformation when he switched from focusing on playing for other musicians to playing for regular people. He realized you have to sing and write great songs. And THAT is what separates Bonamassa from the zillion shredders out there who can play 128th notes, but can't write a cool riff to save their life.

  • @bubsadoozy But here is the core reason why your argument is flawed. You believe that being a great guitarist is mutually exclusive to being a great entertainer. And that's just bullshit. Bonamassa proves it. He can shred - again at the same level of Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, et al. AND he can write & arrange great songs. AND he can sing. AND he can sell out top tier stadiums. He's reaching a wider audience - and turning more people onto guitar based music. He's the complete package.

  • @ksmithdc My argument isn't flawed at all. As you said, he's capable of shredding like "great guitar players" but he "keeps his chops on a short leash". I don't want to see a musician who does that. I'm not there to be entertained by a flashy looking guy who's doing overdone stage movements, I want to hear some original impressive guitar work. If he's keeping his chops on a short leash then who cares? I wouldn't see him live.

  • @bubsadoozy Guys who can shred 128th notes (where the dotted whole note = 220 bpm on the metronome) are a dime a dozen. Once you get past the novelty of the acrobatics, it starts to get boring after a while. That's why I like a nice blend of composition, singing AND great guitar work. You can be a Bonamassa hater all you want. It's not hurting me any, and it certainly isn't hurting Joe - who's getting more and more popular with each passing day.

  • @ksmithdc I was never hating. I was just being observant. Music is subjective. I don't like dad-rock and you do. S'all good over here.

  • @ksmithdc

Sorry but there are REAL guitar gods out there and he's not one! Gee look at me I paid Eric Clapton to join me on stage gee I'm so famous! Funny after watching these video's I don't find myself humming any of them. Must be LMFAO Party Rock Anthem is stuck in my head. When he plays a much larger venue we'll see if he could fill it...3000 is nothing in todays world, that's like a birthday party in the back yard

  • @SuperJackb11 I've been playing guitar for 30 years, and have met some of the finest guitarists on the planet (Vai, Satch, Yngwie, Holdsworth, Gambale, Tedesco, Hedges, Beach, Skolnick, Karsh, Janflone, etc, etc, etc,). I've been listening to players since the early 70's, and can appreciate & respect people from all genres. In my opinion, Bonamassa's the complete package. He can play his ass off (he can shred), play the blues (at the same level as Gary Moore).

  • @SuperJackb11 He also can sing, write great songs, arrange and produce and he's amazingly prolific (12 albums over the past 10 years)? I'm not sure why you're being so hard on the guy. But I think he's great and I wish him a long and prosperous career.

  • @SuperJackb11 Clapton joined Joe on stage because HE see's and respects his talent! They are brothers in the craft! You are small minded! And I'm sure Clapton would tell you the same!....................And, why have you seen "ALL THE VIDEOS OF BONAMASSA" if he's no good??? AND, for your information, he, unlike most, is not a SELL OUT! He plays HIS music HIS way, refusing to conform to the powers that be! It's not ALWAYS about the size of the crowd, or the money!

  • @JesusBobSchnitzel i couldnt thumbs up your comment enough! im 16 and i agree totally.

  • When music can make you stand up, laugh, and feel thrilled late at night while writing a literature essay, you know it's good music.

  • I want that 2 disc DVD! I love this intro

  • Joe is my idol!!!!!!!!!

been having a bad day today but joe's music has helped me through it:)

    thanks joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

turning into a good day aswell got my tickets to see joe in cardiff :)

    can't wait

  • Actually, If you watch them, at times each drummer plays a slightly different part in the composition of the music to complete the background and speed. One percussionist cannot do the job completely, there's just too much required. At times, while performing each must play identically and at the same speed to stay in time, rather than start up each time they need to play a slightly different part. Many solo drummer's are not aware of this, if you've never done it, there's no need to know it.

  • It may be called Django, but it sounds like pure Jeff Beck!

  • Is it not a bit weird that both drummers are doubling each other a lot of the time? I drum a fair bit myself and am a sound engineer. I know it is sometimes good to double up on sounds but to me it seems a bit like overkill in a live situation.. ? ?

  • Omg I need this whole concert now .

  • One of the best concerts ever !!

  • Oh, Joe ich werde dich immer lieben!!

  • What glory he must be feeling at this point of his career, and his parents are there watching him also. I'm sure they are so proud of their son, for few parents ever have the rare bliss to see their offspring be so admired and reach such a pinnacle of extreme talent .

  • Never compare guitarists just admire them all its ok ta have favourites-Joe is mine but still love all the other greats as well.

  • Why is this song called Django? lol

  • @ItsCall911 Joe wrote it after listening to a violin piece by Django Reinhardt

  • @sakowihe75 Oh ok, thank you for explaining that.

  • STEP DOWN CARLOS-TIME TO RETIRE!!!!!!!

  • Obra Maestra!

  • only...........S . R . V

  • In my opinion, Joe Bonamassa is a better guitarist than Eric Clapton.

  • @TheAdonai2 He is, really

  • @TheAdonai2 I doubt he himself would agree.

  • Page & Clapton rolled into one with a voice like no-one else. incredible.

  • stunning

  • Joe Bonamassa rocks! He's definetely one of the best guitarests I've ever seen!

  • Recently saw the Reader's Digest version of this concert on PBS. First time I'd ever seen him. Wow, what a musician. I now recommend him to everyone who remotely likes this style of music. Fantastic opening. Right up there with Elvis' 2001 Space Odyssey theme and the Jonathan Living Seagull instrumental Neil Diamond used on his 1978-79 tour.

  • @MacDrevi0us then what word am I looking for? Now there are two who are tone deaf.

  • looks like a Matrix agent :)

  • @bancika I think he'd have to be to move the way he does on that guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • On a summer night.... having a drink under the stars.....listening to this song is really cool.

  • YEAH!!!!! The shivers up the spine!

  • delightful!!!! ooo da lollie!!!!

  • The New Boss.

The one thing I hate about Joe Bonamassa

"is that it's hard to look good standing next to him." <--Dennis Leary.

Joe is doing in his life what every person that has ever picked up an electric guitar,

    dreams of.

    Good on ya Joe

  • @RayERice Beautifully worded Ray.

  • @RayERice He got it wrong. It's hard to sound good playing with him

  • Breathtakingly awesome!

  • In my opinion the best blues guitarists I have ever heard. Geeze one person is tone def, lol.

  • @golfnutt8 That doesnt make any sense. Tone deAf is not the word you were looking for.

  • In my opinion the best blues guitarists I have ever heard.

  • I saw him live a week ago and was hoping he'd play Django for me (and he did!) He started the show in complete darkness before going into Cradle Rock (wow!). My daughter gave me the ticket as a birthday present (54) as I have been a closet fan for many years. The crowd ranged from 16 to 60. If you play guitar you MUST put Joe Bonamassa on your bucket list!

  • I play keys in a little pub outfit in Blackpool, we have started opening the second set of our show with this, it's hard to believe but many, many people have never heard of it or the fabulous Joe Bonamassa, but when we play it you can guarantee every one wants to know who recorded it, testament to the sheer quality of this amazing peice.anyway back to the clip, there aren't many things i would not do to be able to walk out in front of an audience like that and see that ovation.

  • Amazing....what a class show this was ....every time I watch his entrance into Albert Hall I get chills up and down the back of my neck....so cool ! His guitar playing will make up wanna cry....then the next song will make up want to stand up clapping and rock out......Buy this DVD Joe Bonamassa Live from the Royal Albert Hall........it is a religious experience....Joe Bonamassa for President in 2012...he has brought being "COOL" back and America needs that a good dose of Cool these days.....

  • top rank... top rank... superb musicians ... :)

  • I want two drummers!

  • Best entrance ever! Just got the dvd last week ( on his birthday ) and was floored.

I have not heard this king of guitar playing in a LONG time.

  • I think it was a very special moment for him to walk out and see the crowd in the royal albert hall, you can see it right in his face when he noticed all the people.

  • Wow , Ghossebumbs all over , what an Amazing Song, and what an Awesome Guitarplayer he is .

  • his face is priceless!!! his reaction when he sees the public, still goes to shoe what a humble guy he is

  • what song was he playing at the end?

  • @TheJeffryButnic - Django segued into The Ballad of John Henry.

  • @chrisfreeman32 thanks mate

  • Incredible playing. And his vocals have improved so much over the years. Bonamassa also gives an "honest" concert. He stays on stage for at least a couple of hours. You get your money's worth and then some. Too bad he's underappreciated here in the U.S. However, his star appears to be rising.

  • @mlburwell AND RISING!!!!!

  • I just saw this for the first time today, wow what a great artist and to think I never knew this guy excited. Simply amazing

  • Why is there two drumset?

  • @g2g4m10: Because they can? :D

  • The camera angles and shots on this are great.

  • You couldn't make a classier entrance than that. And the look on his face said volumes as to how he was feeling at that moment seeing the hall filled to capacity. The 2 disc DVD of this concert is simply awesome

  • @alleneh

    yes it is!!!

  • @alleneh You said it all there! My son and I met him a couple of years ago at a guitar workshop he did before a gig in Norwich. He is such a down to earth person, who realises by his own admission that he is lucky to be doing something he enjoys and doesn't take it for granted. There were no 'I'm a star' airs or graces about him, just a true gentleman who loves playing and talking guitars!

  • 1 guy cant hear...

  • IF you love this - GO SEE HIM LIVE!!!!!! 2.5 hours of music - no interemission - never leaves the stage!!!! Absolutely Phenomenal!!!!

  • Beautifully haunting.

  • I've listened to almost all the versions of this song. Nothing beats the sound of this live show!! My kid loves it too!

  • The look on his face when he walks onto stage and sees the crowd on its feet is priceless! Wish I could have been there!

  • prefection man, it can't go better than this

  • There it is!!

  • Someone get a forklift to pick my jaw off the floor. I got the goosebumps and the shivers

  • I love Joe :). He's the best guitarist in the world.

  • was that harrrison fords hand he shook in the beginning???

  • @MrMusecovers No, Paul Rogers, The Blues band

  • @Craglands oh thnx although it kinda looks him tho

  • this is the first time i have heard Joe and he is superb. thank you for uploading. :)

  • I can't believe this haven't got more views:O:P this part of the DVD is just FANTASTIC:D I'm no blues person, but I know good music when I hear it:P thx poster:)
