  • bit of jojo mayer influence in there ;)

  • @danKelee you know it!

  • Someone's been studying Jojo Mayer's technique. :)

  • @Dylanhennessy Yep.. went through a total Jojo phase.. :)

  • @DrumsZackDrums Me too, got to see a clinic of his way back. He's a fucking beast though, and a real innovator. Did you ever end up learning push-pull and moeler and things like that? Jojo seems pretty attached to those.

  • @Dylanhennessy Yeah.. I learned the push pull and the moeller.. I use the push pull mostly and then the moeller from time to time in something based on triplets.. yes Jojo is a Beast!! Huge inspiration!!

  • more more more more !! feed my brain more plz!!

  • how u call the basic rhythm of this your interpretation? number of drumsticks that you use?

    Greetings from Colombia

  • @jassonjames15 There is a couple different basic rhythms.. The most simple way to describe what Im doing is Jungle Drum and Bass.. I dont have a name for the individual beats.. sorry.. I did make a vid explaining how I play the cross over beat.. you should watch that one, it will give you a little more understanding into whats going on here..

  • Haha totally hear the Jojo influence. I'd recognize the "Jabon" groove anywhere, lol nice job dude, sounds good

  • @DeathRoll18 Yeah Jojo has been a big influence on my technique and definitely on any DnB grooves.. Thanks dude!! :)

  • Ok, I have to ask: Neil Pert, or John Bonham Jr.? In a drum battle on top of mount everest in a blizzard whilst blindfolded.

  • @minimcnoon Cool! :) its pretty inexpensive as well.. cant go wrong with that!!

  • awesome drumming dude

right now im at a point (started drumming 6 months ago)

where everything i try to learn just fails miserabely xD

  • @Kentsuruki You have to take it slowly.. little gains each day add up to big gains over weeks and months.. you have to find a way to be happy with the small achievements.. because they are what eventually lead to your progressing forward.. also take it slowly.. things like learning how to play the drums take lots of time and tons of practice..

  • @DrumsZackDrums wow thanks for the fast motivating comment :D

    really appreciate it ^^

  • That's pretty good.....get it goin'...greetings from Germany to Slovenia

  • @Bummelz Hallo!! from Slovenia!! :) Danka!!

  • Time to break out the reese bass! Digging the new camera angle, really helps with viewing the snare/kick. One day you'll get all fancy and have picture in picture with a camera on your right foot!

  • @hellisbreakingloops Haha... Im thinking about starting to program bass lines and stuff so maybe in the future Ill right a complete piece with synths and bass and all that good stuff.. One day when I get a real video camera Ill use the one I use now for a foot cam.. then I will ultra fancy pants!! :) hot shot!!

  • @AceDrumm3r One of them yeah.. Hes an inspiration when I play this style for sure.. hes a total beast!

  • BTW, i frigin love the beat your start playing at 1:38

    sooo good!

i wish you could make a video of that beat slowed down a bit so i could learn it =p

  • @drifter231 thanks.. its a good one I have agree... perhaps I will thats a good Idea!! :)

  • @drifter231

    I second that!!!

  • Amazing dude. I always get intimidated when I see videos like this... then I remember I've only been playing for a year :P. Definitely honored that you added me as a friend on here though. Keep up the awesome playing!

  • Bass drum sounds amazing man!!! how do you tune? and the snare is amazing as well!

  • @darksymphonybass Thanks! for this particular sound.. both heads finger tight..

  • @DrumsZackDrums its perfect!

    \

  • This is SICK as always!

  • @walawala78 Radical!!

  • Awesome drumming Zack, nice work :)

  • @TruthSeekerUK Thank you! :D

  • those hi-hat tricks in the end looks really awesome!! :)

    keep it up! :)

  • @Coverguy88 Thanks.. cross ups are fun!! :)

  • @DrumsZackDrums

and nerve wrecking, if you can't do it properly XD whenever i sit behind the drums and fail to attemp these, i feel like crying XD ---> lol the only thing i can do, is use the double bass :D

  • what mics and interface? :) sounds very nice and natural but sill kick ass. very cool drumming

  • @Sacrificedsoul7 I dont have an interface believe it or not.. I have an analog mixer RCA to the mic input for my computer.. Ive just done a lot of experimenting with mic placement and EQ on the mic channels before it goes in the recording software... low/mids/highs are all i got to work with... the mics are cheap ass Tbone mic set..

Thanks for the kick ass!! :)

  • @DrumsZackDrums man, thats fucking unbelievable!!! the sound is very clean and the bass drum has a killer tone. amazing :) did you muffle the bass drum? really gotta tell you that i liked your video :D groovy as fuck!

  • @Sacrificedsoul7 I have a blanket rolled up about 2 feet long and about 6" round pushed up against the beater head.. If you look closely you can see it.. its white and fuzzy.. thats itfor muffling... the heads are both only finger tight on the lugs... thats the acoustic side of things.. then I use 2 mics for the kick.. one 55 right up close to where the beater hits the head.. that gets 85hz high pass filter button hit and all low end EQ all the way down.. mids and highs all the way up..

  • @Sacrificedsoul7 then I use 2 mics for the kick.. one 55 right up close to where the beater hits the head.. that gets 85hz high pass filter button hit and all low end EQ all the way down.. mids and highs all the way up..

then a 200 bass drum mic goes on the rezo side with all mids and highs cut out and bass turned all the way up...

together they give a good slap and warm boom... essentially Im doing my EQing before it goes into the recording as I cant separate tracks...

  • @DrumsZackDrums now thats a creative mic set up! i think this should be the the proof to anybody that drum recording can be cheap but good sounding :) of course its important to have the "knowledge" with the eq process ect.

i´d love to hear some double bass drumming from you. i think i found only one video where you played with a double pedal :)

by the way, thanks for explaining how you record your drums!

  • Awesome drum beat dude !

  • @Poulmy Thanks bro!!

  • wow great stuff

    thumb up

  • @alffetta Sweet!! thank you!!

  • Great DnB!^^ Love it!

  • @sYqh0n Alright!! :)

  • How much did that snare cost? sounds awesome! Thinking of getting one like it. AND what model and stuff is the snare drum?

  • @BillyTalent1243 Think I got it for 50 euros... fair price for a new snare!! :) Thanks!

  • @BillyTalent1243 Mapex Black Beast piccolo 13" x 3.5".. I got an old rack tom Remo pinstripe head cranked up very very tightly.. :)

  • Shows you are more than just a drum coverer(?) Anyways, it shows that you are insanely skilled ;D

  • @BillyTalent1243 Thanks!! Yes I play many things.. :)

  • What king of snare is that?

  • @ProcolHarum1967 Its a Mapex Black Beast piccolo 13" x 3.5".. I got an old rack tom Remo pinstripe head cranked up very very tightly..
