  • i love the explosion of FFXII's theme. It just reminded me how epic the whole game was.

  • Though this was awesome (loved it), I think I preferred the ending theme to the first game...er...I guess it can be counted as first game seeing how this one came out after, even if it's the prequel. XD;;

  • You know you're a true FF Fan when you can identify the songs in it. FF I - (Not sure if there is one, correct me if there is) FF II - Main Theme FF III - Airship Theme (I think) FF IV - Red Wings FF V - Dragon Spreads its Wings FF VI - Terra's Theme FF VII - Main Theme FF VIII - Eyes on Me FF IX - Melodies of Life FF X - To Zanarkand FF XI - (Never heard its OST so I can't say) FF XII - (Again, didn't hear anything so correct me) FF XIII - Promises Then back to Dissidia. I think I done OK.
  • @Keyblamast78 XI's is Distant Promises or Distant World's depending on what people relate it to. ^^ Very fitting, I think.

  • wow, this theme's longer than the original Dissidia ending theme

  • @Stryker246 but a lot better.

  • @kingofmonsters14

Indeed, there's also more emotion in this theme as well.

  • @Stryker246 well, i think it's because all the new characters either Died or went back home. knowing square, i'm guessing home.

  • @kingofmonsters14 My guess is died really, I mean... SE is known for killing important people *cough*AERITH*cough*ZACK*cough* but its always somewhat of a romantic or emotional death...so Lightning, Yuna, Laguna, Tifa, Kain, Vaan dying isn't really that impossible to figure out...specially if you have seen the ending that is on youtube =P

  • @Calheb Don't cough dude. It's rude.

  • @PsychoKrazyTime Heh sorry, was just trying to make a point across.

  • @kingofmonsters14 In Dissidia's world, when the warriors are called, it's their minds taking a form. So it isn't their real bodies, but their minds are. It's also a rule that if someone is killed by manikins during the war, they cannot be called back to the next war. So, in the ending of Duodecim, when they were all fighting, they were defeated by manikins, and couldn't be in the original game. When they were defeated, their minds were sent back to their world. Hope that answers your question.

  • @kylix9000 Damn, what a crazy plot.

  • @kylix9000 OMYGOD. It makes perfect sense! Not sarcastically, it really does!

Now I don't have to put up with the idea that SE killed Kain, Tifa, Laguna, Yuna, Vaan, and Lightning! :D

  • @TheNewAtman Lol, it's SE. They wouldn't dare kill the MCs of their most popular series. :P

Also, to some who still don't get it, it's basically just them in a dream world one night while they're camping. And then they were defeated by mobs of manikins. Then their minds were scarred for life and don't ever want that dream again. xD

  • They were just ephemeral visions in the DISSIDIA world. When they died, their consciousness returned to their homeworlds.

I guess that meant theire memories of being in the Dissidian world were lost as well.

Yuna's storyline in this game happened after the FFX ended and before FFX-2, but no mention of her ever meeting Tidus is dissidia in FFX-2, which clarifies the fact that when they eventually return to their homeworlds they lose those memories of being in the dissidian world.

  • @kylix9000 so how the hell they should know all this if they even dont remember their past and where they are from, so how do you know all this in previous dissidia they actually have their own bodies and they remember everything and in doudecim the only character which recieve his memory back is cloud and actually they can die many times and come back untill cosmos is alive or unless they have their own crystals and dont forget that in first dissidia cosmos died and chaos but they are back

  • @DragonWarrior1759 They DON'T know any of this. Maybe some of the Chaos warriors do, but everyone else is just completely out of it. They're fighting because that's the only thing they CAN do. The gods say they get their memory back if they fight. What do they want? Their memory. So they fight.

In previous wars, there were no manikins. Manikins first showed up in the 12th war when ExDeath summons them.

  • @DragonWarrior1759 The only way for warriors to disappear the way the newcomers did in this game was to fight until they had no more juice in them.

No, none of that is true at all. Didn't you listen to the reposts and everything? Cloud only regains memories as he fights, JUST like everyone else who loses their memories. He already had some of his memories of Tifa from fighting before. So that point of yours is now moot.

  • @DragonWarrior1759 Yes, I know many of them die and come back. BUT, it's a rule that if you're killed by a MANIKIN, then you never come back. Or, in previous wars' cases, they fight until they lose it.

They've never gained their crystals until the end of 013. So no, they can't come back by that in previous wars.

Seriously, go read the reports from both games. >_>

  • I played through the entire story of dissidia/duodecim, and never once have I heard this being the case in any of the cutscenes or reports in either game, so I don't know where you're getting that from (I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not). IMO, it's best to just think of dissidia's world as non canonical to the main series of final fantasy games, except for gilgamesh (but his entire existence is pretty much non-canon in the first place, so w/e XD)

  • @FFVIIIFanatic You sure you've gone through everything? I'm pretty sure the manikin part's in the game. IIRC, the stuff about the minds taking form was either from the first, or it was in an interview/Ultimania. Can't remember.

  • hm, if that's true, that's somewhat interesting. I'll have to look into it further.

  • @FFVIIIFanatic c... because in Dissidia Duodecim, Yuna is looking for Tidus whereas in the end of the 13th cycle, Jecht returns back to Farplane (saying "Don't make me come out here again", so that hints that he's already in the Farplane). I don't really know, but I do support the 'dream' theory, though I need to find a translation of the ultimania. orz I wish they'd release them in the US...

  • @FFVIIIFanatic Oh, and also, I'm not saying it's canon. I'm just saying that it's basically a dream to the FF characters.

  • @FFVIIIFanatic It's hinted that Dissidia takes place before the events of FFI (you see Warrior of Light heading towards Castle Cornelia in the end), however, I think this was taken from an interview.

I think the information in the interviews and the Ultimania would greatly help in 'clearing' the mystery that is Dissidia. XD I like to try and somehow fit Dissidia into each of the FF games somehow (for example, if Dissidia is truly cannon, then it would've occurred after FFX and before FFX-2). c-
