I am working on becoming a pharmacist currently, and seeing something like this happen in the future would not worry me because I would be definitely conceal carrying a handgun on my person to defend myself from crazy people like this.

Exactly - Drug addled / addicted lunatics who actually will steal - commit violence, etc... to get their "controlled substances".
The downside of the business a Pharmacist is in - distributing narcotics to the general public - which includes "abusers" of Drugs.
