  • I had often wondered why soy farmers get subsidies while fruit growers don't. Dan provided a satisfactory explanation.

  • 5 Year Farm Bill + Annual Budget = who can give the most under the table cash to the bill makers!! This is the "tinkering" that goes on!!

    Our government -- pays tobacco farmers because the price of tobacco is low, they cannot survive. AND they try to get people to stop smoking!! Why not stop supporting tobacco farmers with a 10 year plan -- less and less money each year for growing tobacco?

    Shakespeare was right -- for a true democracy to survive -- you must first kill all of the lawyers!!
